June Awards Nominations!

Its that time again!

SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE THIS MONTH:

1) Be sure to review the MAYOR & ELECTIONS thread. Even if your character would never ever ever consider running for mayor, read it anyway because what the mayor does will affect everyone on the board (don't worry, it'll be fun ). You have to read it to find out how!

2) Please note the AGONY AUNT AUGUSTA column in our NYTs. It's fun and you'll never know what she'll advise for your character. Plus, if you remain unknown, it'll be fun for people to guess who asked the inquiry So just PM Lady C and help get the column started

3) Here's another reminder, please subscribe to our official YouTube Channel, Tichy has updated it with character shorts, and they are full of win! Keep checking back

Now for the nom noms

As always, note these rules

1) the same person cannot win the same award two months in a row (want to give others a chance, so keep that in mind when you make your nominations and voting. You can give that person acknowledgement of course in your post!)

2) Come July 1st, we'll give out awards...which means the people who have awards now will have to give their siggies up so the new winners can feel special But dont worry, we'll have an archive of awards in our graphics section and you can keep a list of the awards you've won in your siggy.

3) For new people (and old, but mostly for those who just joined us this month), you notice that we have a marquee at the top displaying headlines for the NEW YORK TIMES in our RP. Every month we will look for moments in the threads you're involved in, that are pretty public...that a newspaper team would pick up on. We also will have a character (or two) interviewed each month. We're looking for Reporters and people to be interviewed! It's never too late to SIGN UP!

Read the paper for examples. Large public scenes, events with high-profile people, criminal activity, big events in general, anything like that is welcome. We're accepting headlines, blurbs, classified ads, and if you want...any ideas of how we could expand the paper

So even if you'd rather not nominate, please let us know if you are involved in a thread with those kind of things in it. Or if you have anything to contribute.

Criteria for Male and Female of the Month: Should have many of these qualities
-Active
-Constantly contributing to the board and its members
-Wonderful RPer (you can provide an excerpt of a post that demonstrates their wonderfulness)
-Helpful and friendly

Criteria for Couple/Duo of the Month: Should have many of these qualities
-Excellent RPs together
-Either have one or more of the following - Chemistry/Rivalry/Romance/Teamwork/Interesting dynamic or pairing
-RPers work well together

Criteria for Thread of the Month: Should have many of these qualities
-Engaging, exciting, suspenseful and/or enjoyable to read
-All characters demonstrate excellent RPing skills
-A defining/memorable thread

I know so little about The Outsiders, but as far as I see he's doing an excellent job as the voice of reason - alongside Dallas' hot headed attitude. He's a sweetie. Also, he named a thread after a Muse song, so he's instantly in my good books.

Here's why!
This'll be the second time I've nominated 'the woman', all for her ability to keep Sherlock on his toes. She's alot of fun, active and where she's the killer queen she can show this soft and vulnerable side to her.

The Greaser duo. Here we have Dally, the roughest of the Greasers, and Soda, who's just trying to get along. Watching them communicate in Grease Lightning, where they're stuck in a bit of a sticky situation, that is rapidly getting out hand, is really enjoyable. Let's hope Soda can stop Dallas doing something he might regret.

JEKYLL SUSPECTED IN SHOP KILLING

"The previous addition of the Times reported the body of a Wall Street shopkeeper, Hank Yrio, had been found. Since then police investigators have pulled their first suspect, Yrio's only employee, Henry Jekyll. No official arrest has been made, but facts drawn from the scene and an interview with Jekyll have forced the police to declare him suspicious. Jekyll, 23, and an Irish migrant, was the only person with proper access to the store, Hank's Hardware, at the time of killing as there had been no signs of break in. He could give no sufficient accounts for his whereabouts the night before. In interview, it was discovered Yrio left Jekyll upto £50,000 in his will which police may claim as motive. The factor delaying arrest is the disappearance of CCTV footage from the store security cameras, which Jekyll denied taking despite being the only person, asides from Yrio, to have access to the tapes. Jekyll was approached to comment on the will, but declined."

I'm sorry to say I haven't read 'The Count Of Monte Cristo' but Jamie's portrayal makes me want to. Not only did he, Eddy and Ricky have fun at the Capulet's Ball (haha) but Monte Cristo is also in attendance at Edward's own 'do...wonder how that will turn out. XD I love Monte Cristo's observations and his good manners; I love a well mannered gent, me. Jamie's posts are always very detailed and entertaining to read; he really delves into the character's thoughts and comes up with a lot of interesting observations, and sees things others would brush off. I look forward to continuing to roleplay with him in future! <3


Anne Lancaster
For FEMALE OF THE MONTH

I was so thrilled when Steph signed up to play the Anne to my Ricky you have no idea. XD Steph's characterization of Anne is absolutely spot on; her Anne is delicate and as emotionally scarred by everything as expected, yet she retains what little pride and strength she has, ready to lash out at Richard when he goes too far. Every post of hers is a joy to read; I'm usually pleasantly surprised by all the plot twists and turns she adds to our roleplays together. Not to mention she can play 'serious' Anne ('Let's Talk', 'You Can't Hold Me Down') and 'crazy' Anne ('Richard III: Act I, Scene II - The Nonsensical Version') with equal skill and talent. <3


Grease Lightning

I was called a thread creeper by Yols awhile back in the c-box, and that title rings true here. XD I love reading this thread; there's a real clash, both in the literal and figurative sense; a contrast in personalities and a physical clash in terms of the violence occurring between Miss Adler and Mister Winston. All roleplayers involved play their characters brilliantly; special kudos to Sodapop for trying to keep the peace. ^^

I read the thread these two have going ('Measuring Nature') and I really love how Jane and Christine get on; they are both very friendly but also seem somewhat reserved and shy, so it makes me glad they found each other. They seem well on the way to becoming good friends, and that makes me smile. :3

The events of 'Fabula Actanda Est', methinks should be there (maybe even if the 'main event' hasn't happened by the time the paper comes out on July 1st). On that note, when Ricky gets the top spot...that should probably be there too.

Maybe for Edward's death/Ricky's becoming Mayor they will be added to July's paper as they happen, like a 'special edition' of the paper printed to deal with these occurrences? -shrug-

Also, since it was Ricky's intention, methinks there should be a mention of his and Anne's recent outing ('You Can't Hold Me Down')

Reporters saw them go into the resteraunt; Anne first, smiling but not answering questions, followed by Richard who by contrast stopped to answer queries put to him. Reporters then met them as they left the resteraunt; this time Anne commented 'Please for any questions that need awnsering this was just a friendly dinner ,as you all know me and Richard went to college and he was just making me feel better from my loss .'

I'm afraid clever headlines/blurbs fail me today. D: Apologies.

Since Sammeh has joined his site, she has contributed immensely with graphics, her awesome posts, and just a great attitude. Lately, I feel she's been on a role! Her posts are so full of muse and she knows the character of Roger so well. Every post she makes is right in character, especially as he interacts with Mimi.

For my honorable mentions, I have to say I agree with the above. Monte Cristo, you rock and so do you Soda!


Ophelia Knowles
For FEMALE OF THE MONTH

No, this is not me being biased because she happens to be in my canon haha. Erin has been with us since February (pretty much when the site started) and although she has had to take a few LOAs, when she is here, she is an excellent RPer. Actually, its very impressive because she's not scared to roll with us older folks (like me haha ). Anyway, it's been very fun to RP opposite of her and I'm looking forward to more dramaaaa in the future between Hamlet and Ophelia.

Honorable mentions include Christine Daaé and Irene, as they have been consistent and always here since they've joined. I also want to honorably mention Jane Eyre, who has hit the ground running ever since she joined the site! Great to have you!

I currently have the privilege of participating in a thread with Dallas and Sodapop, and I have to admit that I really like the feeling that goes into every single post. Yols is really attached and connected to the character and it really comes through in the posts she does with him.

I haven't gotten around to reading many of her posts, but it really strikes me how eager she is to join into the Rewritten City universe. She's interested in plots and is very active in placing her character in threads with many different sorts of people. I can't wait to see what's in store for this character.

I am having a TON of fun doing this thread with Alice and Yols. The chemistry between Sodapop, Dally, and Eppie is potent and developing amazingly well. I am excited every time I get a reply. I love this thread and I can't wait to see where it goes.
