PERSONALITY
General personality: Maureen, putting it bluntly, is a flirt. She loves getting attention and, whenever it's diverted from her, will do something drastic to turn it back to her. She thrives on attention and loves to get people going, even if there isn't anything that will come of it. She's a very dramatic person as well, on and off the stage.
She can be a little obnoxious and irritating from time to time, but her heart is in the right place. She really does care about her friends and is fiercely loyal to them. She's very stubborn and set in her ways, thinking she's right and is very hard to convince or sway. She does love a good fight or argument, in which she'll win, just for the drama and the passion involved. She is a very passionate person and if something's not moving fast enough or filled with enough vigor, she'll do something to rile everyone up.
Deep down, she's a bit of a sentimentalist, loving simple romantic gestures. She's flashy enough so nothing flashy is really required, though it's not discouraged. She loves to watch people impress her but once she finds that someone, someone who gets her and can give her everything she wants and needs, she'll stick around for a while. The temptation to flirt and call attention is just always there, something she's battling with.

Education: High school education, she had started taking college classes for acting, but soon dropped out.

History: Born the "accident baby" of Nancy and Eddie Johnson, Maureen was doted on from day one. Though money may have been tight, no expence was too great for their little bundle of dramatic joy. Because most of her elementry school teachers couldn't handle Maureen's exuberant energy and no other school would take her, the Johnson clan decided to make a move, from the small town of Hicksville to the even smaller town of Scarsdale.
Maureen spent the rest of her childhood and teenage life there, making several friends (all of them part of a rowdy gang of boys). Once she graduated from high school, the diva packed up her belonging and made her way New York city to attend NYU's theatre program along with her best friend turned boyfriend, aspriring filmmaker, Mark Cohen. Halfway through completing the course though, she dropped out, claiming it boxed her creativity in far too much.
Soon, Maureen found herself in Alphabet City with a dull job as a waitress at the Life Cafe and a boyfriend who was too busy caring for his crumbling best friend to take the time to pay attention to her needs.
What's a girl to do?
Nothing else but find herself in the beds of man after man, and the occasional woman, until she was swept off her feet by conservative lawyer, Joanne Jefferson.
She had never truly meant to leave Mark, but Joanne was there when he was not. And Maureen always needed someone to be with at the end of the day.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample:
How much longer must she stand this?
That single question would continously run through Maureen's mind as she lay alone in the bed she usually shared with Mark, her boyfriend.
Oh how she wanted, no...needed to feel his arms wrapped around her, to feel his lips brush away the buckets of tears she had already shed over the loss of April, to hear him tell her everything would be fine in the morning.
But he wasn't there. He was too busy comforting and caring for Roger.
Her trembling hands reached up to clamp themselves over her ears, an attempt to block out the sounds of Roger's muffled sobs and screams, but with no prevail. Closing her eyes, Maureen fought back the urge to scream herself.
Why did it feel like no one seemed to care about her? April was one of her best friends, her deat tore Maureen up as much as the next person.
But no one came to comfort her, to care for her.
She had to get out of here. As much as it hurt, she had to leave this behind.
