Hey guys!
Most of you are aware of a supposedly exciting, intense and fun thread I wanted to start with all the Rent characters. This thread was created to inform all of you, being Mark, Roger, Joanne and Maureen about what's planned.
I know May is a very hectic month for everyone, and June is even worse for me personally, because that is when I'll be writing my exams and finishing up the school year, so I don't exactly expect this thread to move like wildfire and that's perfectly all right. Before we commence, I just wanted this chance to openly discuss our ideas.
All of you know that Mimi has a serious issue with heroin addiction and for most of the show, she struggles between her illhealth brought on by a combination of factors - the disease, the drugs, lack of nutrition because of lack of money, etc. I was planning a thread that would follow Mimi in her most excruciating struggles as her redemption over her cages, and her attempt to become sober. Of course her friends have to follow her and support her on this very dangerous and painful journey. I have no idea when we're starting this thread, but I'm thinking it's either going to have to start fairly soon or be pushed to summer.
Thoughts? On anything.

Well, I know Joanne would say she's primarily there because of Maureen... but after analyzing the interactions between Jo and Mimi in the movie and the play, I feel like they could have some sort of connection beyond what Joanne would ever talk about. This of course is entirely up to you, but I was just thinking about that cuz its Jo who finds her in the play (and maureen too) then they sing the whole "happy to die for what Angel has" thing together. Not to mention, in Happy New Year, its Jo who stops Mimi from running off when they are all "depends on love" so I'm just assuming there is something there. However subtle it may be.
Plus, Jo tends to go into fanatic caretaker mode, so she'd be all "Mimi, did you take your azt? mimi have you eaten? You won't throw up. you won't throw up! Mimi. Mimi. Mimi." and so on.
so that's my bit for now.

I've always thought the same thing, Jo. I think that's a wonderful idea and that we could totally expand on that relationship. There are many possibilities there.

Roger will totally be there for Mimi 'cause she's his bbcakes, but he's going to have a breaking point, even though he'll want to be strong for her. So his breaking point probably wont be in the company of others. It doesn't mean he'll fall off the wagon entirely and go hit he needle at the first chance, but I can see maybe getting shitfaced or something to that effect. He wont let Mimi or the rest of them see it (or even probably Mark) but he'll have his own little 10 minute breakdown and then be decent again. He'll be haunted by the fact that Mimi has already literally died once, and that she could very easily die again. He'll have to deal with April and the way that she died as well.
So all in all, he'll probably be obsessive about it, trying to make sure she does the right things to, you know, not die, and then build up walls if anyone mentions anything about her condition or if they get into fights.

Mo will definetly be there... I'm just not really sure as to how she'll be feeling about the whole thing. Meh, my muse seems to be as sick as I am right now. I'll think of something though!

Mark would probably be the only one to seem like he can handle the situation (which he can't). But he knows he'll have to be strong for Meems and Roger, because he's like... the rock I could probably think of more, but I've got to get to class XD

That sounds good guys.
So basically before this thread starts, I thought we'd wait for the grace period to end. That sound ok?
Also, Roger, I feel our thread is about done, because I really like how you replied to my post and I feel it's a great ending point. Would you like to do a few more posts or would you like me to put it in Finished threads? This new thread with all of us will take place directly after that thread, in the evening or night. We can hash out whether Mimi will go out to run a few errands and collapse in the street (someone would have to come to her rescue and return her to the loft) or if she simply just has a break down in the loft and Roger calls for some reinforcements. But first Roger, I'd like to hear your say

As far as our old thread, I'm fine with whatever. If you wanna end it, you're more than welcome to, or we could continue. Whatever you want.
And as for the new thread, I'm down with pretty much anything. I could write up a post of Rog being in the Loft with Meems and he calls on the calvary to come when it gets to be too much, if you want?
I'm down with whatever everyone else wants, but willing to write up a new thread if no one else wants to (has time etc).

I'm totally willing to write up the new thread or whatever... I'm pretty much home bound for now as I have no job and have been reduced to being my mother's housewife... lol -cook, clean...etc.-
So whatever you guys want is cool. I like the street collapse idea best personally, but either way works. Both concepts are awesome!

I feel terrible for holding all of you up, but the truth is, right now I am one of those persons needing the grace period we currently have. I've been extremely exhausted and tired at school, unfortunately, and I'd like to formally apologize!
Roger that sounds lovely, I think I'll close that thread now. Thank you so much.
Now, there's no rush to start this thread, as it will certainly be difficult for me and it appears, Maureen as well to keep on it this next month. My exams are in late June...so from now until then, it will become quite busy and my posting will be very sporadic but I shall do my very best.
