PERSONALITY
General personality: Collins is very shy, yet fun loving. Once he is comfortable in a new situation or with a new person, he will open up. He is a devoted friend, extremely loyal, and will always support them. A philosopher at heart, he can often be found sitting somewhere by himself, smoking a cigarette or a joint and just thinking. He is attentive and sensitive, always willing to lend a hand or an ear or a shoulder to cry on.
Collins is also very much into practical jokes. It has gotten him into heaps of trouble in the past. One thing he cannot stand is injustice, and he will do whatever it takes to right a perceived wrong, regardless of the consequences to himself. Sometimes his sense of justice is misplaced, but usually he's simply out to help someone that is being mistreated.

BACKGROUND
Family: Father: Matthias Collins. Mother: Mary Collins.
Education: University Educated
Occupation: Teacher
Worst past experience: Being attacked in an alley
Best past experience: ((Not sure if he's met Angel at this point or not. If so, Meeting Angel. If not. Leaving home.))
History: As a small child, Collins was extremely sensitive. He would often come home from school in tears, unable to understand or accept how some people treated others. He was a quiet child, and his solitude, along with his gentle nature caused tension between him and his father. Matthias Collins was a rigid military man who believed emotions were for girls, and certainly not for his son. He refused to allow Collins' mother, Mary, to comfort him. In time, Collins learned how he was expected to behave and did just that, keeping his feelings and musings to himself.
The Collins family moved around as Matthias was posted from one base to another. Collins never had trouble making friends, simply because he was such a kind child, but it became more and more difficult to leave them when it came time to move once more. Collins continued to do what was expected of him, joining and excelling at football in high school. He hated it, yet his father would not let him quit. He used Collins' skills in football to make him something of a trophy son when talking to his military buddies.
But all that came crashing down around Matthias Collins the day his perfect son told him he was gay. The fight was long and loud, and ended with Collins, bruised and beaten, locked out of his home with only a backpack full of his belongings, staring at his mother as she cried at the window.
Collins moved to New York City. It was the one place he felt he could truly start over. In such a big city, he could be himself. In his search for an affordable place to live, Collins answered an ad he saw posted on a streetlight. He had no idea at the time that the people he was about to meet would soon become his best friends: Mark, Roger, Maureen and Benny.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample: Collins sat huddled on the ground, leaning against the wall of a building for support. He'd barely managed to get himself into that position, and his breath came in ragged gasps from the pain, one hand pressed to his stomach, the other against his nose, trying to staunch the bleeding. He shifted slightly, trying to find a position that would offer him a little relief from the pain, moaning when the motion only caused the pain to increase.
"Shit," he muttered, "Merry Christmas to me."
Voicing those words caused him to begin coughing, and he brought his hand from his stomach to cover his mouth, wincing when he tasted blood. When the coughing subsided, Collins took a deep breath, trying to regain some of his strength. He couldn't sit in the alley all night; he was already shivering from the cold. Glancing back the way he had come, Collins groaned. He wasn't going to be able to walk that far anytime soon.
