So I don't know if you guys are aware, but RC has been going strong for 11 MONTHS!!! Isn't that crazy? So I, on behalf of staff, thank all you members for keeping us active and FUN! We hope to keep RC going for much much longer as we approach our one year anniversary. This site is here because of you guys and the awesome stories you're telling with your writing. Thank you thank you thank you! So as a new year rolls around, we want to hear some feedback from you guys to see how things are going! If there's anything we want to do, it is to continue to improve and grow the site. So here is a short survey and we'd greatly appreciate it if you fill it out. You'll get 3 karma points for it and you'll be helping us improve RC! Karma will be granted once we're done collecting answers. You have the option of posting in this thread OR you can send it to me, Yols, over PM if you feel more comfortable doing that. We really do want honest, frank opinions - constructive criticism is encouraged And if you're new, your opinions are valued too! Thanks a ton! Note that these questions in no way implies that we have seen problems with the site - we just want to make sure that we are aware of any that have arisen. 1) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to figure out what the site was about and access important beginners information? Prepare for a gush-fest... 1) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to figure out what the site was about and access important beginners information? If so, how? I thought it was really clear what steps I needed to take to become a member and get involved. I had some issues wrapping my head around the idea of modernizing the classic characters/works, but I caught on eventually ^_^ 2) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to get started RPing? If so, how? and do you have any suggestions on how to improve this? I didn’t have a hard time. There’s a lot of really great information on almost every topic, from characterization to getting involved to just having fun. 3) When you first joined, did you feel welcomed? Completely and totally. Cliques are sometimes a problem on other sites I’ve been a part of, but I didn’t see anything when I first joined and I still haven’t. Members and staff were really friendly and more the willing to help get me on my feet. 4) Is the layout/design working for you? Is it easy for you to navigate? It is. Since there are so many boards and threads on RC I find that it’s a lot faster to just bookmark my threads, but it’s always easy to see when new threads that are important for all the members are made. 5) Are there any technical problems with the layout (example - slow loading, error messages, off looking graphics)? When I’m on my computer, slow loading isn’t an issue at all, but I’ve found that RC takes a really long time to load from an iPod. I think it might be the amount of graphics and stuff, like with the YouTube vid (which is awesome, BTW) and all that. But I think they really makes the site look good, so I’m all for them. I’m not sure if it’d be possible to make a more basic version of the site that you can enable for mobile devices or not, but if you could, that’d be amazing. Though I wouldn't be surprised if there already was one and I missed it. 6) What do you love most about RC so far? Everything. Besides the amazing people, it just seems like an all around classy site. I’m always impressed with the writing quality and there’s *so* much stuff you can do, so I’m never bored. It’s always changing with stuff like the monthly awards or Secret Santa or the newspaper and I love it. 7) Since you've joined RC, has posting/RPing become too much of a chore? Is it at all stressful? If so, why? I think that posting could become a chore if I was writing with people who don’t make it any fun, but that’s not a problem I’ve encountered at all. Like I mentioned before, the writing quality is just awesome. With all the constant plotting going on, RPing hasn’t become remotely tedious at all. The people I RP with have also been extremely patient and put up with my random neurosis and fear of short posts. 8) How is staff doing? How staff manages to get all their stuff done, stay on top of everything, keep members informed, work their asses off, and still have time to stalk the cbox or just be generally friendly is beyond me. Sometimes RP sites have a staff that gets a little high and mighty with other members, and I don’t see it on RC. They’re super nice to all the members they talk to, and they don’t have that general “We art more talented, cool, and generally sexy than though art” attitude. 9) Is there any thing that you feel would improve the site as a whole? (this is very open ended - you can suggest site plot ideas, other additions to the site that might be helpful, or more specific suggestions) …Um. Well, besides letting the Hoff be an actual character ( ), I really can’t think of anything else. 10) Anything else you want to say about the site? Rock on.

1) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to figure out what the site was about and access important beginners information? If so, how? Not at all. I loved how easy it was with the majorly helpful "Getting Started" page to figure out what to do, step by step. I had to ask a few questions in the cbox to really understand what it meant to "rewrite" characters, but at the end it all made complete sense. ;D 2) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to get started RPing? If so, how? and do you have any suggestions on how to improve this? Getting started was easier than pie, since Yols so helpfully started the thread "Something to Do" almost as soon as I came on board. The thread was a great way to get a feel for rping, since this site was my very first one, and also a quick and comfortable way to get to know many of the characters as well as the friendly members who play them. 3) When you first joined, did you feel welcomed? Absolutely. It's amazing how welcoming and just plain sweet everyone is around here. They dealed with even the stupidest of my questions with amazing tolerance. 4) Is the layout/design working for you? Is it easy for you to navigate? Of course. I could wander around in this site in my sleep, it's so simple and elegant at the same time. Helps that I'm here so much of the time. xD And I especially love the see-through background of the cbox and the background of the site in general. 5) Are there any technical problems with the layout (example - slow loading, error messages, off looking graphics)? I used to use Internet Explorer a few months ago, and at one point loading got kinda slow. Maybe it's just my computer but I think Firefox and Google Chrome work a lot better. Other than that, everything's working perfectly. 6) What do you love most about RC so far? I couldn't choose! I adore everything about RC from the amazing graphics makers to the brilliant characterizations to the option of crack rps to the amazing post quality from everyone and everything in between. If I absolutely must choose, though... I'd have to say what I love most about RC is the fact that it exists. 7) Since you've joined RC, has posting/RPing become too much of a chore? Is it at all stressful? If so, why? Sometimes when I have a ton of ongoing threads and everyone seems to reply at once, it's slightly overwhelming. But that's my fault for doing too much at once, lol. And whenever I'm slow at posting, everyone's always super nice about it and rping has never been a chore for me. 8) How is staff doing? Amazing. That is all. You guys have the best ideas ever, like the Secret Santa (Which I absolutely cannot wait for, btw. xD) and the newspaper with interviews and all. Every red or purple voice in the cbox always answer every question as if they've never gotten it before, and you guys are just brilliant with the general upkeeping of the site. Kudos. ;D 9) Is there any thing that you feel would improve the site as a whole? (this is very open ended - you can suggest site plot ideas, other additions to the site that might be helpful, or more specific suggestions)Ummmmm... I really don't know. Maybe a specific weather to rp with for whichever months? 10) Anything else you want to say about the site? I just hope this gem of a site goes on forever. XD

1) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to figure out what the site was about and access important beginners information? If so, how? No, I don't remember having any difficulty when I first joined. I've been here for a long time, though- long enough that there weren't that many members and things weren't too hectic.
2) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to get started RPing? If so, how? and do you have any suggestions on how to improve this? No, it was pretty easy then. I remember hopping into an open thread with another player who I think had also just joined. I feel like people don't join the open threads as much these days, though- it was really difficult for me to get started with Medea, and this thread with Nessie is the first time I've really gotten running with her.
3) When you first joined, did you feel welcomed? I did, and still do. The community here is great, and I feel like a part of it, even though I'm seldom here.
4) Is the layout/design working for you? Is it easy for you to navigate? Yep, it all looks great and things are pretty easy to find.
5) Are there any technical problems with the layout (example - slow loading, error messages, off looking graphics)? My only complain is that the site takes foooorever to load on my home computer (a Mac, on which I use Firefox). It loads like a champ on my work comp, though (which is a PC running Internet Explorer).
6) What do you love most about RC so far? I love being able to play characters from literature, rather than canons from TV shows or even original characters. I love playing OCs, but you can do that anywhere. This is what makes RC unique.
7) Since you've joined RC, has posting/RPing become too much of a chore? Is it at all stressful? If so, why? Posting is stressful for me because I have little time in my life for it lately and I often lack the muse (especially for Monte Cristo, who I have to be in a particularly attentive mood to write for). No one here has ever rushed me about posting, but I do feel bad about making people wait, and that kinda stresses me out too. So, in short, RPing is stressful, but that stress is not caused by RC.
8) How is staff doing? The staff's doing a great job, as far as I can see.
9) Is there any thing that you feel would improve the site as a whole? (this is very open ended - you can suggest site plot ideas, other additions to the site that might be helpful, or more specific suggestions) I can't think of anything at the moment, but if I do, I will let y'all know.
10) Anything else you want to say about the site? Other than that it's freakin' awesome? Nah. =D

1) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to figure out what the site was about and access important beginners information? If so, how?
Nope, not difficult at all as I recall. XD I was so eager to get started and find out everything about the site I must have re-read the plot and whatnot several times, I kid you not. XD
2) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to get started RPing? If so, how? and do you have any suggestions on how to improve this?
As before, nope. ^^
3) When you first joined, did you feel welcomed?
Certainly. I've nevr felt so welcomed on a site before. That and staff (esp. Yols) were able to tolerate my near incessant questions. XD
4) Is the layout/design working for you? Is it easy for you to navigate?
Yes, that and it's pretty to boot.
5) Are there any technical problems with the layout (example - slow loading, error messages, off looking graphics)?
Nope, none at all.
6) What do you love most about RC so far?
Can I say everything? XD Post quality, friendly memebrs, great story arc, characterization, cbox, crack RPs....this site is made of win in epic proportions.
7) Since you've joined RC, has posting/RPing become too much of a chore? Is it at all stressful? If so, why?
Sometimes posting is a smidge stressful to me due to my RL schedule (sometimes being in character and attending parties/making dastardly plots is more fun than siting here doing homework!). However, I love RC so that it is sort of my anti-stress; during my IGCSEs RC was always there when I got back to cheer me up. (:
8) How is staff doing?
Super-duper. And I'm not biased or anything. =P
9) Is there any thing that you feel would improve the site as a whole? (this is very open ended - you can suggest site plot ideas, other additions to the site that might be helpful, or more specific suggestions)
Nope, nothing at all my end.
10) Anything else you want to say about the site?
May RC be around for many months more. <3

1) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to figure out what the site was about and access important beginners information? If so, how?I thought it was pretty easy and still is pretty easy. I still look over the rules occasionally and am always peeking at the applications. 2) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to get started RPing? If so, how? and do you have any suggestions on how to improve this?I was a little hesitant at first because I have need for the approval of others but once I got going, you couldn't stop me if you tried 3) When you first joined, did you feel welcomed?Uh, yeah. And after receiving such an amazing welcome, I've tried to do the same for other new players or potential players. 4) Is the layout/design working for you? Is it easy for you to navigate?I liked the other one better But this is great too. One wish: that it included purple somewhere. 5) Are there any technical problems with the layout (example - slow loading, error messages, off looking graphics)? My comp spazzes out occasionally but it's nothing I can't handle. 6) What do you love most about RC so far?The people and the diversity of characters. Granted, The Outsiders are growing to huge numbers and lil' ol' Jane is still all by her lonesome, but that's sine because everyone does such an amazing job. And the lack of negativity on the site. It's...refreshing. 7) Since you've joined RC, has posting/RPing become too much of a chore? Is it at all stressful? If so, why? It's not a chore, I love doing it. My muse tends to come and go but I enjoy it none the less. 8) How is staff doing? Not so bad. My only wish is that the staff would be stricter on the post requirements in size. I've been slacking and would feel better if there was a post size police to make sure the minimum is reached. 9) Is there any thing that you feel would improve the site as a whole? (this is very open ended - you can suggest site plot ideas, other additions to the site that might be helpful, or more specific suggestions)The option for people to play more characters. And I know I've already mentioned this to Yols, but I feel like it wouldn't hurt to add a forth character to the list. Also, more sub-boards. Like, The Streets...throw in some actual streets so it's more organized. People need to participate more with the Newspaper, including myself. An RC appreciation thread where members can post fanart, graphics, or other such items that have been inspired by the site. An open graphics thread where someone can post a request and any member without a shop can try filling it for them. A board for character journals. 10) Anything else you want to say about the site?Iz good.

Nup. I just read the plot and the rules and everything made sense. xD Although I do remember asking a stupid question about the year it took place in. 2) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to get started RPing? If so, how? and do you have any suggestions on how to improve this? Not at all. I'm pretty sure I had a thread like, two days after I was accepted? Maybe one day. It's a little foggy. 3) When you first joined, did you feel welcomed? Most definitely. Everybody is so nice, it's kind of scary. 4) Is the layout/design working for you? Is it easy for you to navigate?Yeah. I always know where everything is. 5) Are there any technical problems with the layout (example - slow loading, error messages, off looking graphics)?Um... it takes a while to load via my phone. But that's about it. 6) What do you love most about RC so far?Uh... I don't know. :C This is like asking me to choose my favorite book. The people, the plots, the threads... can't I just choose everything? Dx 7) Since you've joined RC, has posting/RPing become too much of a chore? Is it at all stressful? If so, why? I tend to fall a little behind in my posting sometimes. :3 But it's never stressful and everyone is super nice about it when I take *coughanentiremonthcough* to reply. 8) How is staff doing?Brill. I have no complaints. 9) Is there any thing that you feel would improve the site as a whole? (this is very open ended - you can suggest site plot ideas, other additions to the site that might be helpful, or more specific suggestions)Delete the clocks. I spend far too much time on here and don't want to be constantly reminded of it. xD 10) Anything else you want to say about the site?I'm on this site so much I dream about it when I sleep. Yeah... pretty sure that's unhealthy. xD [/ul]

1) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to figure out what the site was about and access important beginners information? If so, how?
Meh, when I first started out here I was a n00b to RPG (and I'm still) and it didn't seem all too difficult. I read through everything and I did get things wrong, but I learn and corrected my mistakes.
2) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to get started RPing? If so, how? and do you have any suggestions on how to improve this?
I didn't find it difficult at all, personally. You meet friendly people and they let you jump into the threads.
3) When you first joined, did you feel welcomed?
Yes, I did! I think that it was fine and a lot of the members are friendly, so it was all good.
4) Is the layout/design working for you? Is it easy for you to navigate?
I use a crappy iPod, so I can't really judge for myself. There is a lot of boards to scroll through, but I manage.
5) Are there any technical problems with the layout (example - slow loading, error messages, off looking graphics)?
It probably is my iPod, but it loads really slow for me. When I'm on the laptop it's pretty good. I've made it this far without denting someone's head, I will probably manage.
6) What do you love most about RC so far?
The members are awesome. They're friendly, funny and talented. I am so grateful to find a bunch of amazing role-players and I anticipate reading future threads. I also love the graphics. Yummy is one word for it and amazing is another one. WAIT. Everything is awesome.
7) Since you've joined RC, has posting/RPing become too much of a chore? Is it at all stressful? If so, why?
I'm a thread whore. It's only stressful when I have to update all of then at once, but I've definitely made it so far. Next time I'll remember not to take on so many threads. However, in no way has it become a chore.
8) How is staff doing?
You guys are a basket full of awesome. You're helpful and there for the most part. Double thumbs-up for y'all. I would write a poem for y'all to describe how epic you guys are, but I'm no poet and I won't butcher the name of poetry.
9) Is there any thing that you feel would improve the site as a whole? (this is very open ended - you can suggest site plot ideas, other additions to the site that might be helpful, or more specific suggestions)
Nada, amigos/as. If I do think of something, I'll def ring y'all.

1) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to figure out what the site was about and access important beginners information? If so, how?
Nope. The leprechaun in my head explained... I mean... No, it wasn't difficult at all. The only thing that I had trouble with was finding the secret word because I can read something like seven times and never see one little word.
2) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to get started RPing? If so, how? and do you have any suggestions on how to improve this?
Nope. It was easy. I got attacked by Sammeh, so I kind of had too. :]
3) When you first joined, did you feel welcomed?
Yes. Sammeh sent me a PM like, the second I joined saying "YOU HAVE TO POST WITH ME" Which kind of freaked me out a bit, to be honest. xD Everyone's so friendly, it's scary.
4) Is the layout/design working for you? Is it easy for you to navigate?
Yes. I like it. It's all organized, and there's a Rent skin so I feel important. xD
5) Are there any technical problems with the layout (example - slow loading, error messages, off looking graphics)?
Um... well a banana will sometimes randomly appear telling me that if I don't post it's going to strangle me in my sleep.. Just kidding. But wouldn't that be such a good motivator? Maybe you should look into that.
6) What do you love most about RC so far?
The fact that... well... Um... It makes me feel like a good role player because there's so many brilliant writers that being around them makes me feel like one too :]
7) Since you've joined RC, has posting/RPing become too much of a chore? Is it at all stressful? If so, why?
No, although I do feel bad when it takes me awhile to post. I do have a life sometimes. xD
8) How is staff doing?
Wonderfully awesome. Seriously, keep up the good work. And think about that banana thing.
9) Is there any thing that you feel would improve the site as a whole? (this is very open ended - you can suggest site plot ideas, other additions to the site that might be helpful, or more specific suggestions)
Um... Making Mark emperor of the world? Just kidding of course.... >.>
10) Anything else you want to say about the site?
Nope. Please realize that it is impossible for me to be serious, but all in all I do really like the site. :] My post counts are like, higher on here then anywhere else. Seriously. I love it *huggles*.

2) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to get started RPing? If so, how? and do you have any suggestions on how to improve this? Actually it was pretty easy, thoug it did tak a bit. I think it was because my first character was somewhat obscure
3) When you first joined, did you feel welcomed? Yes
4) Is the layout/design working for you? Is it easy for you to navigate? Yes this layout works great for me.
5) Are there any technical problems with the layout (example - slow loading, error messages, off looking graphics)? No
6) What do you love most about RC so far?*Wracks Brain* All the threads that I have been allowed to be a part of

8) How is staff doing? As far as I can tell they're doing a good job.
9) Is there any thing that you feel would improve the site as a whole? (this is very open ended - you can suggest site plot ideas, other additions to the site that might be helpful, or more specific suggestions)I might come back later to this question.

1) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to figure out what the site was about and access important beginners information? If so, how?
SO difficult, but that could just be my nature to over-think things. I remember asking Jenny 1000+ questions, but I can't remember what I asked.
2) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to get started RPing? If so, how? and do you have any suggestions on how to improve this?
Yes it was. Mostly because I hate jumping right into things, but also because Bob is so picky. I can't give many suggestions because all I can give is, "Have people pick a bigger variety of characters."
3) When you first joined, did you feel welcomed?
In the c-box, yes, but on the board, I felt that everyone already had their things going on, but I was late for the party.
4) Is the layout/design working for you? Is it easy for you to navigate?
It takes some getting used to, but now I've got it.
5) Are there any technical problems with the layout (example - slow loading, error messages, off looking graphics)?
Nope! That's all A-okay.
6) What do you love most about RC so far?
The people and the professionalism. The people are wonderful, witty, and talented. Plus, everyone knows when to step up and be professionals. Plus, it just looks so awesome.
7) Since you've joined RC, has posting/RPing become too much of a chore? Is it at all stressful? If so, why?
It's not really a chore, but it can be stressful for me personally--anxiety issues that don't have much to do with the board.
8) How is staff doing?
Great! They're informative and really approachable.
9) Is there any thing that you feel would improve the site as a whole? (this is very open ended - you can suggest site plot ideas, other additions to the site that might be helpful, or more specific suggestions)
Maybe a map? Is there a map? That'd be cool.
10) Anything else you want to say about the site? I love it? Is that good?

1) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to figure out what the site was about and access important beginners information? If so, how? Upon joining I loved straight away how the site looked and as I'd been told the idea of how the site worked previously by the lovely Yolz one fine night over MSN I had no reservations about joining. The Getting Started board was brilliant for finding my feet i.e the rules, cannons, application, FAQ, Plot and what you guys wanted from us as members came across nice and clearly. The c-box was buzizng with life and lots of people willing to answer any questions I had.
I think the most difficult thing I found was actually choosing a character and updating them for the site without loosing what I loved about them as a cannon. Most of my considered characters where from the period gothic/horror genre and it was trying to find a way to update them and take away some of their far fetched mystique without loosing what I loved about them as a character which eventually helped me decided on Heath. I loved that process. The fact I had to really consider what character I wanted, how I could keep them cannon and yet bring them into the 21st century and how I could integrate them into the plot with a believable history and background. It really tested my skills as a writer and allowed me to seriosuly give myself over to the site.
2) When you first joined, was it difficult for you to get started RPing? If so, how? and do you have any suggestions on how to improve this? Not at all. I'd had to consider my character choice so carefully, that during the application process I had to know what route I was planning on taking Heath down in order to participate in the RP so by the time I'd been accepted I had a strong idea of what to do with him, what his drivers were and how he was going to fit in. After that it was easy to get started
3) When you first joined, did you feel welcomed? Definately! Since I already knew the administrators from a previous site I felt very comfortable, like I'd slipped my feet into a comfy pair of old shoes and those who I had never met were incredibly friendly and welcoming in the c-box
4) Is the layout/design working for you? Is it easy for you to navigate? Love it! The graphics on this site are fantastic and the skins are nice and simple without being incredibly distracting or dipped in eye melting colors.
5) Are there any technical problems with the layout (example - slow loading, error messages, off looking graphics)? Sometimes it takes a while for my comp to fully load all the graphics and images but thats it.
6) What do you love most about RC so far? Not only are the writers absolutely brilliant and some of them at such an incredibly high level and quality, it's always active and there's always people around to shout HEYA! at you when you pop into the c-box!
7) Since you've joined RC, has posting/RPing become too much of a chore? Is it at all stressful? If so, why? The only issue I have here is that my posts can be incredibly draining for my muse but I actually believe thats down to the intensity of my character and nothing else. This is the first site that I've honestly put all into writing really good, decent length posts for and because of how intense Heathcliff is as a character it can drain me quite a lot which I love because I know I've really done my best for you guys.
8) How is staff doing? Excellent, really helpful, active and enthusiastic! I love you guys!
9) Is there any thing that you feel would improve the site as a whole? (this is very open ended - you can suggest site plot ideas, other additions to the site that might be helpful, or more specific suggestions) Right now I can't think of anything but if I do I'll deffo let you know!
10) Anything else you want to say about the site? EFFING AWESOME!

Thanks for all the help! Staff has discussed your ideas and concerns (and some responses have been implemented so far ). We'll ask for more feedback properly like this in the future (but of course you can always tell us any ideas and concerns ANY time!). Now to award your karma!
