Hi, my name is Alysthene and this is my First character. I found this site through Xander, my mate. Something you should know about me is I'm not the best Rper, but I try my hardest and I love to post.

Appearance: Athena is a lovely woman, who stands up tall and looks everyone in the eye. Her hair is a rich, dark brown, almost black, and falls to the middle of her back in a straight mass. She is a healthy weight, not fat, but no stick either, and full of curves. Her eyes are full of knowledge and kindness, usually with a smile inside them if she is not working hard on something.

General personality: Athena is a calm, collected person. She tends to keep her head in any situation, preferring logic over emotional, unpredictable responses. She is not afraid to speak her mind to anyone, no matter who they are. She wants to have her own clients someday, and be the main business manager, instead of the secondary as she is now. The fact that she cannot find someone to hire her and give her a chance is very frustrating to her, and she gets very annoyed when her boss treats her like a simple intern.
She has few hobbies, as she is usually working. However, she does have a passion for crafts. In her spare time, she will knit or draw, though she is better at knitting. On occasion, she will knit blankets and give them to the homeless around the city, especially when she doesn't have the money to spare them for food. Her drawings she keeps for herself, since she does not believe them to be of quality to show others.
Athena has one major quirk that everyone notices: she tends to chew on pens, especially when she is deep in thought. Other quirks include tapping a foot softly while she is thinking, weaving her pen through her fingers (usually when talking to someone), and talking to herself. She fears few things, but does harbor a fear of failing, whether it be herself or her clients. She also fears small spaces, and despises abusers and rapists. History: Athena was born in San Francisco to a young teenage couple who immediately gave her up for adoption. She spent a few weeks in foster care before she was adopted by widower Zeus Glaux. As she had been unnamed when she was brought in, Zeus was allowed to name her. In keeping with his families traditions, he gave her the name of a Greek goddess, and a middle name that held Greek origins- Sophia, meaning wisdom. He took her home and began the task of raising her to be a good, intelligent woman.
She was a quiet, reserved child, preferring to read rather than play outside with other children. In school, she easily became the top of her class, and stayed there without any difficulties. Her father was extremely proud of her, and allowed her to do whatever she liked, so long as she kept her grades up. She used the time to take up crafts such as knitting and drawing, unlike all the other kids her age who took up drinking and sex. She really paid no attention to the boys, though there were no shortage clamoring for her attention. Gawky in elementary and middle school, she bloomed into a beautiful young woman in high school.
Just as she was getting ready to graduate high school, an earthquake struck the city. Her father told her to hide in her closet, and she did so, becoming trapped for nearly a day in the rubble before rescuers could get to her. Since that day, she has been terrified of small spaces, and refuses to enter them. She was overjoyed to know her father survived as well. She graduated top of her class, and received a full scholarship to any college she chose. She chose the New York University, for their business program, having decided years ago to become a business manager. Her father helped her move, but stayed in California, where his job was.
She spent the next ten years earning her degrees, interning at various businesses and learning the trade as she did so and graduating at the age of 29 with honors. Her father flew out to see her graduate, and spent a week in the city with her, helping her apply at businesses for a full time position. She was hired within the year at a small company as a secondary manager, under the permanent manager. She has spent the last two years in this position, and has been looking for a company of her own to manage full time.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample: Athena sighed, brushing her rich dark hair back into a bun at the base of her neck. The day at her office had already ended, but she still had paperwork to do. She didn't mind, though. There were several new contracts to draft, and she seemed to be better at it than her boss. She finally managed to toss the mess into its customary bun and sat down at her desk, spreading the work in front of her, pulling up the contracts on her laptop. She diligently began writing them up, the work nearly automatic for her by now. She grabbed the remote and flipped it to the Food Channel, so she would have some background noise as she was working.
By the time she'd gone through two episodes of Chopped and one of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, the contracts were finished and would only need printing at the office in the morning. She leaned back in her chair and stretched, several bones in her back and neck cracking as she did so. Work finished, she stood and moved to her room to change out of her black suit and let her hair down. She took a quick shower, wrapping her long hair up in a towel before slipping into her pajamas. She moved back out to the living room to watch a little more TV before going to bed.
The next morning she pulled out fresh black trousers, a pale lavender shirt, and a black coat to cover it. She dressed and sat on the bed to pull on her usual black boots and quickly laced them. She moved to her desk to gather up her laptop and push it into it's case, throwing in the paperwork she'd brought home as well. She locked the apartment and went to the street to get to her subway station. Her father has offered her a car, but with the traffic in New York, she had opted to take taxis and the subway. She jumped on just as the doors were closing, joining the masses of people commuting to work that morning. She kept her bag close, slipping off the subway at her stop and making it to work half an hour early as usual. She printed off the contracts quickly, so they would be ready when her boss arrived.
Sitting at her desk, Athena sighed. I need to find somewhere where I'M the boss. I'm getting so tired of being under her. She thinks she queen, but I do most of the work here. She pulled up the work scheduled for the day, holding out the contracts as Susan walked by. “I finished them last night. Here. They're ready to be signed and sent off.” The older woman simply nodded and brushed her off. She sighed, rolling her eyes, and pulled up the day's paper online, heading to the classifieds as usual. Today, however, she saw an ad to be a manager for a theater and smiled to herself. She made note of the address and planned to be there as soon as she left work. Finally!! Things are looking up!
