Hi, my name is Katie and this is my Second character. I found this site through an ad on a forum originally. Something you should know about me is I'm a book worm....AND a theater geek XD.
Canon: The Sherlock Holmes Stories by Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle
Custom Title: The Modern Victorian Young Lady
PHYSICAL
Age: Mid-Late Twenties, Just about a year younger than John Watson
Gender: female
Appearance: Mary is an old-fashioned beauty, like her mother was. She has pale skin and long blonde hair with a gentle curl which makes her look a bit like a china doll, even if she isn't. Her eyes are wide, round and blue with a dark fringe of lashes surrounding them. She is usually seen with her pretty blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail so it's out of her way while she's working with the little boy she's nanny to. She almost never wears nail polish and when she does, it's usually a neutral color or clear. She loves clothes but she keeps her clothing choices very comfortable and simple, expecially when working. She does like to dress up when going out, which is the only time she'll usually wear heels and even then, they aren't very high because she doesn't feel she needs the height. Mary seems to know she's pretty but she doesn't know just how pretty she is.
Height: 5'6"
Body: Thin yet curvy
Other distinguishing features: Mary has dimples in both cheeks when she smiles.
Wardrobe: Mary likes to keep her clothing neat and spotless...but caring for an eight year old boy makes that an near impossible task, most days. She usually wears clothes that are slightly too big for her slender frame, hiding her figure, but she doesn't seem to mind. She doesn't think John Watson minds either. Her fashion style changes depending on the day. Most days, it's slightly victorian influence and yet very modern. She usually wears her hair up when she's working and down every other time.[/ul]
Play By: Kirsten Dunst
PERSONALITY
General personality: Mary is first and foremost, a worry wart. She worries about anything, especially John when he's working on a dangerious case with Sherlock Holmes. She loves him more than anything and she just doesn't want to lose him, especially while doing something dangerious with Holmes. It's not that she doesn't think Holmes is a bad detective or anything. She ever went to him for help when her mother's jewels went missing. She just doesn't want to lose Jay. She didn't want him to go to New York with Holmes so they had a falling out. Of course, Mary wants to reconsile things.
Mary loves Jay Watson with all her heart. She feels so awful about everything that happened. She just wants everything to go back as it was, perhaps even happier than they were before. She missed him so much and she truly hopes he can forgive her for how she's acted. She'll even try harder to put up with Sherlock Holmes and be nice to him, if that'll make Jay see that she's sorry. She knows that she doesn't want to lose him and that's all she's completely sure of right now.
Mary has always wanted to perform onstage. She has a gift for music and performing but has never really had the chance to do it. She majored in it in college and minored in education. She's been working as a nanny to rich families children since she graduated. She wishes she could just do it but not even Jay knows she's got at those things. She may tell him...eventually.
Quotes, frequently used expressions: Saying "I'm sorry!" when she walks into a chair or something.

BACKGROUND
Family: Mother - Rochelle Karenina Llewelyn-Morstan [deceased]
Father - Senior Captain Edward Maurice Morstan
Boyfriend - John "Jay" H. Watson
Education: Went to the finest grade school her parents could get her into, went to University to study vocal performance and acting with a minor in education. She doesn't tell people about her major, she just tells them she has a degree. Not even John knows what her degree's in or what she'd rather be doing.
Occupation: Nanny to the Graham family's eight year old boy but she'd rather be doing something else.
Worst past experience: She's had many while working for the Grahams but, since they were so many, she cannot pick one
Best past experience: Meeting John Watson. The hardest thing she ever had to do was let him go to New York without her to follow Holmes but she's so going to join him.
Image: Mary can be seen a bit of a stick in the mud but she's not all that bad. She also is known to be an animal lover
History: Mary Anne Morstan was born to Rochelle Llewelyn-Morstan and her husband, Edward Morstan. They were so happy to finally have a child, after a few years of trying to have one. Unfortunately, their joy was short-lived. Rochelle died shortly after Mary was born. Growing up without a mother couldn't have been easy for her but she had a nanny growing up to make sure "she didn't become too much like her father", as her father's friends said. Mary's nanny was named Eliza Shiventon and usually wore a blue and white dress. Eliza actually became her closest friend. When things seemed lost for her, she could always go to Eliza.
Mary knew one day she would want to do something and not hide behind her father's wealth. She wanted to make it on her own as well. She always had a gift for singing and performing and, once people got to know her, she was really an outgoing girl so a career in the performing arts seem like the perfect thing for her to do. So Miss Mary Morsan became a theater student, with a minor in education and child care, since she liked children. Her father thought she could do a Disney show and just combine both her favorite things.
Mary graduated with honors and then quickly became engaged to a boy from another rich family. He took her on a world tour while they were engaged and after their tour, he died suddenly in combat training for the army, which he was going to join, like his father. She doesn't wear the ring anymore since she returned it to the boy's family but, because of the world tour, she has a slight tan to her skin and you can still see where the ring sat on her finger because there is still a thin pale ring around her finger from it. Shortly after, she got a job as a nanny. It wasn't what she wanted in life but it payed well. One day, her father came to where she was working and told her that her mother's family antique jewelry were stolen. She didn't have many and most were passed down through the women of the Llewelyn family when they married. Mary knew she could turn to one person for help, Sherlock Holmes. When she hires Holmes, she also met Dr. John Watson. She stared to fall for him very quickly. Only after the case was solved and it was discovered that the jewels were lost, did he ask her out.
Mary Morstan and John Watson have been dating for quite some time now and are a serious couple, despite what Holmes thinks. He seems to have forgiven her for, while she was in her distressed state, calling him James instead of John. She can't picture her life without him...well, she couldn't until he decided to go to New York to help Holmes with his cases in the big city (or something like that). Mary was heartbroken when John left and she missed him terribly. She does NOT like Sherlock Holmes and has very little patience for him. Despite how she feels about Holmes, Mary loves John with all her heart and soul so she's decided to come to New York as well.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample: ((I read Watson's history and it kinda felt like they had a falling out so I wrote this...kinda after the falling out XD ...and listening to the song "Can I Say Goodbye?" from the musical Rudolf the Last Kiss does NOT help XD))
Mary Morstan just seemed to stare at the door of her flat for a minute. She and Jay had just had the worst fight of their relationship and it was all cause of Holmes. Sherlock Holmes had made things for them a little more than complicated. Yes, she had hired him to recover her mother's family antique jewelry and because of that met John Watson but he had driven them apart. Sherlock Holmes, London's only unoffical consulting detective, was so childish, an avid drug user and clearly wasn't a good friend to Jay. He was kept away, because of Holmes, for days at a time without even a word and then he'd come back almost always injured in some way or another. She was only looking out for him. She didn't want to lose him. She loved him too much.
Mary sighed softly, closing her eyes and running a pale hand through her blonde hair. He was gone and she couldn't make him stay. It was because of Holmes again that he was gone. They had another argument and Jay said he was going to New York with Sherlock and that was that. Mary had too much pride to beg and plead for him to stay but now as she stared at the closed door of her flat, she wished she did do just that. She felt tears start to form and they started falling silently down her pale cheeks. He was gone and crying wasn't going to bring him back. She sighed softly as she went over and touched the door, which Jay closed rather roughly, softly, almost wishing Jay'd come back, saying he was sorry and asking if she could forgive him. She knew she'd have no such luck. One thought ran through her head over and over again. He's gone...
After a long moment, Mary stepped away from the door, trying to figure out what was next for her. The guy she loved was going to New York City and she couldn't stop him. She didn't even get to say goodbye. She, not so calmly, told him if he wanted to go, the door was right there and he should use it. She felt the first major heartache of her life and she let out a sigh. An idea then suddenly popped in her head. Picking up the phone in her flat, she dialed the number for the airline, insanely grateful her Dad gave her his about to expire frequent flyer miles. "Hello? Yes," she said, "I'd like to book a ticket to New York Ciry, please."
