CHANGES! RC's Site Shop! Need feedback!

Now that Hector Tormei and Richard Plantagenet are running for elections, staff has FINALLY come up with a way to incorporate karma points. We could implement a shop! This way karma has value and could be used when offenses against the law are made.

I'll probably rename them something other than karma, like Points or something, but the concept is that you can use these points to 'buy' something from the site shop.

Now for the shop itself and what it would 'sell,' we have a few ideas, but we need more feedback from you all. What would be some cool things you'd want to have in a site shop?

1. Another "custom title' underneath their name in pretty colors and what not.
2. A personal sub-board for their house or a company, or whatever contributes to their plot
3. A 4th character - but with this comes some limitations and it will be one of the most expensive things in the shop.

Those are our ideas, but do you guys have anymore?

I would just like to say that I think the Karma thing is brilliant! I would have never thought anything like that up. And I will probably be visiting it in the future, because Lord knows I have enough threads at Jack's to make a sub-board for it. Also it would be really cool.

So, anywho, if you're looking for me to add something to the list... I'd be happy to whore out my graphical services I've been told I'm pretty good, and I won't be making a graphic board. So. That's just a suggestion because I felt bad about not leaving one... xD

I love the Karma idea! I was on a Phantom RP board that used something similar, except it was a rose bank, like for the phantom's rose and stuff. Might I suggest it be a quill, since we're all writers? We can collect quill points to buy stuff with... Or we could name it actual currency.

Might I suggest having a bank for the points? That way people can put away what they're saving for the big stuff, and spend on the little stuff.

Also, for other things to buy, maybe some request graphics that aren't for RC, or just cool stuff from other members? It could be like, in exchange. The person can give the points to the person doing it, and then they get the product.

I dunno, those are just my suggestions!

Yeah, I love love love the karma/points-shop idea too. As usual, I fail at suggestions, so that's about all I have to say about that... //coughForrestGumprefcough// ;D

What about using karma to buy the opportunity to stick more songs in the RC music player? Since we've limited the number so far?

Mind you, it's late at night, so these are only a tired mind's musings.

-Karma points can be given away as a prize for when you become a MOTM/FOTM/TOTM/DOTM winner.
This isn't directly related to the points, but I think it would be epic if we had a bank for our characters. It can be a simple thread where we keep track of their money. Of course, it probably wouldn't work well if the staff isn't willing to mod/admin that (then again, you can hire a banker or something), but it was just something that popped in my head. 

Now, before I go off in a tangent, I think that if we had this bank thing, then we can use the karma points to buy a 'lottery ticket'. The lottery ticket can be entered in a draw of sorts and the character can win cash! So, then he/she/ can bring her/his/it girl/guy/object on a date or treat them/it to a fancy dinner. 

I might think of other stuff.

I think we should be able to buy a higher post count as to faster get to get another character...that's probably just me though as I'm the slowest poster around.

Anywhoo, onto suggestions that relate to other people.

I noticed that there are skins designated to a fandom or character. Maybe one could buy a skin that fits them?
Also, maybe a person could buy the rights to put "Maggie(or, you know, anyone else) is awesome" in the news feed. XD or something highlighting them on the main site. I know lots of people liked their egos stroked(me) and would totally buy it.

I agree with Maggie about the Skins and shout outs on the main page, and I like the "win karma for being a OTM winner" ... I'm not very helpful, but I do like those ideas

I second the skins idea, for a super premium buy.

Godmod tickets. Like, buy a ticket and you reserve the right to godmod once and you have to post the ticket with the godmod to show it's been done.

Okay, so, I was talking to Taylor about karma, and I got some ideas! These ideas aren't for things to use karma for, but for how to get karma.

1. The Feedback Corner. Like... it's a great forum. So why is it so empty? I think people should be able to get karma for giving feedback. And since you need people to want to get feedback too, people could possibly also get karma for asking for it? I dunno, it's up to you.

2. A site jobs forum. Like... if the staff have some jobs that ordinary members could do, like creating a graphic or sending out PMs or something, they could ask a member to do it and they'll get karma for it. This also might possibly ease some of the burden on the staff and make members feel more included in what's going on with the site. And if a bunch of members want to do it, uh... hold a raffle or something? If you can do that? Or if it's like, creating a graphic, have each member make one and then pick the best one and give the karma to whoever made it.

I dunno if that idea really works, but I thought it might so I thought I'd share it.

3. Competitiveness is fun when it's something everyone can get involved with, if you know what I mean. Possibly hold writing contests? Like... give everyone a prompt and reward like... 20 karma for first prize, 10 for second, and 5 for third? I would LOOOOOVE that so much.

4. Karma for posting something in RC Goodies! And there should be a limit, so people don't spam it. *nods*

And so those are my ideas, hooray!
