Hi, my name is Alexx and this is my Second character. Something you should know about me is I'm an Instant Star junkie..
Canon: OC. Don't kill me! But She'll probably be mixed in with Greasers...
Custom Title: let me fall
PHYSICAL
Age: Fifteen
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Height: 5' 5"
Body: Kearstin doesn't work out or anything, but she also does not get as much to eat as most normal teenagers... She is about medium in body weight, maybe slightly on the skinny side.
Other distinguishing features: Kearstin dyed her hair red when she first ran away, so she wouldn't be recognized as easily, and has also cut it short before. She will do both again, if she finds it necessary.
Wardrobe: A lot of Kearstin's outfits are thrift store items, or cheap. She likes that rock and roll style, but she does have a girly side. She's been known to shoplift nice things, so not all of her clothes are ratty or used. It depends on what she feels like. She might spend money, or she might just take.[/ul]
Play By: Alexz Johnson
PERSONALITY
General personality:
Kearstin tries to be a happy person. She likes to talk and tell stories, and she likes meeting new people. Especially when the people are nice to her. She developed a habit of people watching when she worked for her grandmother, and she loves to talk to people who look interesting to her. But, when they are rude, she can get rude back. She has a slight temper, nothing huge, but she has learned some pretty nice insults in her two years as a runaway.
She is a protective girl, and although she hates fighting (and isn't very good at it, really) she will fight for those close to her. She could rattle on for hours, but does know when to keep her mouth shut. She's cheerful most of the time, but there are days when she is cranky. As there is for everyone.
She gets mad when people are stupid. Not the 'they can't help it' stupid, but when they make stupid decisions or just act stupid. There are days when she doesn't want to talk to anyone, and days when she doesn't want to stop talking. She likes reading her newspapers before selling them, or at least the things that seem interesting, so she knows what she's talking about when she sells them.
As much as she likes to talk, she doesn't talk about herself much. She'd rather talk about other people. In all fairness, she's quite a bit of a gossip. She likes to know what's going on in other places as well as close to her. The only time she has a problem with leaders is when they try to boss her around an excess amount, or when they tell her to do something she doesn't want to do.
She likes listening to people play music, and she'll sometimes sing along. She doesn't have the best voice in New York City by far, but she doesn't make people's ears bleed either. Her favorite song is a lullaby that had been sang to all of her siblings (and herself) by her parents when they were very young. She'll sometimes whistle or hum the tune under her breath when walking.
She's determined to get Calvin back one day. She'll ask her friends to keep a watch out for a boy with his general description, but no one has seemed to find him yet. She saves her money so one day she can buy herself an apartment and share it with him. She sometimes considers going home to see her family, but she's worried she won't be able to leave if she does.
Her fears are mainly Calvin being dead, because she knows it would be all her fault, fires (this is a result from a burn at a young age when she ignored her mother and touched a burning hot stove) and dying in general. She had a close call once from falling from something she thought was a lot lower then she was. The thought of just ceasing to exist worries her beyond anything else.

Lying: Mutiny is really good at lying. She has her tells, but not very many people have figured them out. She doesn't really tell huge lies, or about anything important, but she'll find herself making up stories about things that happened the day.
Protective: She has a big protective streak. Once she is close to someone, she will fight for them if need be. She thinks its the result of being the eldest of five children, but it comes in handy.
Smart: She doesn't attend school, but that doesn't mean she's not smart. Her parents taught her at home, and she learned a lot from working in her grandmother's shop as well. She can do basic math, read, write, and she has good people skills. This comes in handy.
Weaknesses:(please name three)
Her Family: She misses them, a lot. She thinks she did the right thing, but whenever she sees a little kid who looks like her siblings, or spots someone who might even be just similar to her parents in looks, she freaks out.
Rebellious: She has nothing against people in charge, really... but she does have a problem with being told what to do on a constant basis.
Insomnia/Nightmares: She has them. And they're realistic nightmares, that scare her so bad she can't sleep for a few days after having one of them, because she refuses to close her eyes.

Calvin Baird, nine
Michelle Baird, seven
Scott Baird, five
Christine Baird, five
Other Relatives: Karolina Baird, fifty-six, owns a sewing shop (grandmother)
Education: Was home schooled briefly..
Occupation: Nothing
Worst past experience:
The day she lost Calvin. She feels like she let down her entire family by not keeping him safe, and she worries about it so much she has nightmares.
Best past experience:
The day her mother and father took her and Calvin and Michelle to the Central Park Zoo, and her dad bought her a stuffed tiger. She still has it, and his name is Mr. Stripes.
History: Kearstin was the first born child of George and Sonia Baird. Her parents loved children, and Kearstin was the first of five children they would end up having. She was raised in a loving home, with her grandmother living only one apartment building away from her family. Her parents were going to wait a few years until having another child, but time got away from them and Kearstin was six years old by the time they finally had another child.
Following Calvin was Michelle. Her families apartment was starting to become crowded, but her mother and father both had jobs and they could support it. But then, only two years after Michelle, Kearstin's twin siblings were born. Her parents had not anticipated two new mouths to feed, and with Michelle still so young, her mother had to quit her job and stay at home to raise the children she had been so excited to have.
Kearstin's grandmother had always helped with Kearstin and Cal, who spent a lot of their afternoons in her shop, and by the time Kearstin was ten she was working part time in her shop. She was not paid, of course, but it became some what of a safe haven when the twins were around. She loved them, loved playing with her younger siblings, but their crying was really loud and she couldn't stand it.
When she was twelve years old, she started noticing that her family had less and less things. Her father came home later, looking worse and worse each day. Her mother looked older then she had only a few years before, worn down.. and she and Cal both noticed that their supply of food was becoming lower and lower. They didn't really start to worry until Michelle came down with an illness, and her family could not afford a doctor. She and Cal held a meeting, although he was only seven years old at the time, and tried to come up with ways they could help support their family. Neither could think of any ideas.
Michelle was not getting any better. She was near death when her grandmother moved in with them and gave them the extra money. Almost all the money went to a doctor for Michelle, and then they had an added mouth to feed. Her grandmother insisted that the children be fed before they even thought about her, but Kearstin would always feel wrong eating what little food they had. Shortly before her birthday, Kearstin came up with a plan.
On her thirteenth birthday, Kearstin and Calvin ran away from home. They stayed together for awhile, Kearstin trying to find a job so she could support her younger brother. She had experience in a shop, knew how to do math and read, but no one wanted a thirteen year old run away on their payroll. Eventually, Kearstin and Calvin were even hungrier then they had been at home. Eventually, Calvin left Kearstin. He left her a note, his seven year old handwriting sloppy and almost unreadable, saying that they'd be better off on their own. For now. She swore that one day, when she could support him, she'd find her younger brother. She still does not know where he is, but she refuses to believe he is not alive.
She had been living this way for two years. She came up with the alias "Mutiny" for whenever anyone asked her her name, just in case they were snitches. She associates mostly with people who call themselves "greasers" and is working on trying to get a job, probably with a fake identity, so she can save up for an apartment for both her and her brother when she finds him. If she finds him.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample:
Tell us WHY your original character would fit with the theme of this board: I hope Kearstin will fit in well, because she's relatable. She is a teenager who puts her family before her, and is trying hard to survive on her own. She wants to believe she is grown up enough to handle it, even if everything points towards her being wrong. She has a goal to find her little brother, who is her favorite person in the world, and support him like she feels a big sister should. She is quite like the greasers in the sense that she is poor, often sleeping wherever she can find a spot, but puts up a tough attitude so no one can see that inside, there is a fifteen year old girl who just wants her parents to hold her and to play with her younger brother. She believes that is no longer an option.

Mutiny had spent the night at a lodging house after being invited by a boy in a Cowboy hat. She had heard people call him Cowboy, and figured that she could get along with anyone who had an alias, like herself, and had agreed. She had awoken surrounded by people, an odd thing as she was usually alone, but they had all left to go "carry the banner" before long. She thought she would have the lodging house to herself for the afternoon, but a lot of boys and girls swarmed in and out throughout the day, in pairs or groups but rarely ever alone, talking about the headlines and selling spots. She had no clue what they were talking about at first, but soon picked up on the fact that they sold papers. Hey, she wasn't dumb. Just slow sometimes.
She had been sitting on a bunk most of the day, watching everyone who went by. She loved people watching. She had picked it up in her grandmother's shop, and she liked making up stories about the men and women and boys and girls who crossed her path. When she saw a man in a trench coat, her mind automatically went to some criminal action. When she saw a blond with a cell phone pressed against her ear, chatting excitedly, she thought about the stereotypical cheerleader she had always seen on TV. For really interesting people, she made up a whole back story. She was odd that way.
So, it was on that bunk she was sitting when a tan boy with curly hair ran into the room, laughing almost evilly, and twirling and jumping around. She noticed he was holding chocolate in his hands, and had obviously not noticed her, even when he had scanned the room. That was odd, she didn't think she blended in well with the kids who normally stayed there. All their clothes were... old fashioned, almost. The boys wore suspenders and some of the girls even wore dresses. Why you would wear a dress to go work on the street, Mutiny didn't know. Unless the girls were actually prostitutes in disguise... but she doubted it. Some of them just weren't pretty enough.
Not that she was trying to be rude or anything. She hadn't said it out loud, so it didn't count as being rude anyway. She watched the boy shove a piece of chocolate in his mouth, and decided to make herself known. It looked kind of good.
"Hey, chocolate boy... You want to share?"
