Hi, my name is Leffie and this is my First character. I found this site through a link a member on the Phantom Reviewer's forum gave. Something you should know about me is I eat pasta like crazy.
Canon: The Phantom of the Opera
Custom Title: Little Lotte
PHYSICAL
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Appearance: Christine has light, almost platinum blonde hair down to the mid of her back. It is naturally wavy, but she straightens it on occasion. She has light blue eyes, the color of water, and fair skin. She has the face of an angel, some would say, but she doesn't think so. She is not tall, but not too short either. She will wear her hair up often, but lets it loose at home. Her lips are full, and she has slightly high cheekbones. She doesn't wear a lot of makeup, simply because she doesn't like to bother with it. When she's out singing she will put on the occasional lipstick and eyeliner, or a light neutral toned eyeshadow. She isn't too curvy, but she isn't stick straight either.
Height: 5'4"
Body: Slightly curvy, especially around the chest area.
Other distinguishing features: Remarkably beautiful voice.
Wardrobe: Christine usually wears long skirts, whether they be long and billowing or skin tight. On occasion she'll wear designer jeans. She wears fluffy blouses, mostly white, light pink, or ivory. When she wears dresses they are usually light pastel colors. When she's singing she'll wear a white puffy short sleeved shirt, and a black dress skirt, along with black pumps. When she's out and about, she always wears a red scarf that is connected to her childhood sweetheart.[/ul]
Play By: Scarlett Johansson
PERSONALITY
General personality: Christine is a very complicated person, however much she doesn't let on. She may come across as shy and naive, but that is hardly the case. She does have a tendency to be kind to other people, but she doesn't like it when things don't go her way. She's not a very strong person, so she doesn't like to speak up for herself, but she tries. She can be a bit feisty at times, especially when someone says her opinions are wrong. She loves animals, especially dogs. Her hobbies include singing (jazz, indie, opera, musicals, etc.), playing the violin (but she's not the best at it), the piano (a little better), and growing flowers outside her windowsill.
Christine's ambition is singing, especially jazz. She hopes to become popular, but doesn't want the limelight to get to her head. She's very superstitious, and always carries a cross around her neck, hidden under her blouse. She is afraid of drowning, so doesn't swim often. She constantly tucks her hair behind her ear, though it falls because of its weight (its rather thick). She blinks a lot, especially when she doesn't understand something, so you'd have to repeat whatever you said to her if you see her eyelashes going at it! She loves children, and wants some of her own someday, but isn't too picky when. She is a rather hopeless romantic, however, and hopes to find love soon.
Quotes, frequently used expressions: None as of yet!
Likes: (please list at least three)
Dislikes: (please list at least three)
Strengths: Singing, playing the piano, acting (though only as a mask in real life), kindness.
Weaknesses: Superstitious, weak willed, tendency to be naive.
BACKGROUND
Family: Gustave Daaé (deceased), Madame Valérius ("adopted" mother)
Education: High School, then a private college for the fine arts, majoring in Classical Music, but dropped out due to a promising career in NYC.
Occupation: Jazz singer
Worst past experience: Almost drowning
Best past experience: Meeting her childhood best friend, Raoul, after he saved her scarf from the ocean.
Image: People see her as naive, for sure. They see absolute beauty in her voice, but it lacks feeling sometimes. They sometimes alienate her because of her child-like nature, but she is just as intellectual as them. She is marveled for her beauty, and men do flirt with her, but she brushes them off coldly.
History: Christine was born of Swedish decent in a small town in Minnesota. At a young age her father, Gustave, noticed her remarkable talent for music (as he himself was a famous violinist), and decided to market her. They played together at fairs, restaurants, and other events for money, so they were slightly poor, but had enough to come by. Her mother died when she was a babe, so she clung to her father like glue. She was fascinated by his bedtime stories, particularly the one about an "Angel of Music."
When she was around 12 or 13, she and her father were discovered by a college professor, Valérius, of music, who had been in town on a business trip. He brought them to his home in Connecticut, where his wife became like a second mother to her. She trained under him for a little while until her father died when she was 15. The following year she joined a private high school, focusing on her music because of her father, but had lost all she really loved with him.
She graduated high school and entered the college her former teacher, Valérius, taught (as he had died a few years before), but left due to a career opportunity in NYC. She often goes back to Connecticut, where her "adoptive mother," whom she calls Mama Valérius, lives, sick with cancer. Now she lives in NYC in a little apartment, but large and expensive enough to be middle class (coming from the Valérius's money). She aspires to be a grand singer in all the famous jazz clubs of New York.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample: Christine let her feet move her down the street of the Big Apple. It amazed her how her feet were killing her. Usually she was fine, but today these heels wouldn't let up. She knew she shouldn't have put them on, but she didn't really think about it at the time. She grunted with each step, but kept going. Food was more important than aching feet, at the moment. She ran to the store when she saw it, barely noticing her feet. It astonished her how much her toes could tread when her stomach was growling, but she didn't let it bother her.
Perhaps it was her lack of judgment, or her desire to have food in the house, but as she roamed the store, she ended up finding about 30 food items she just "had to have." She was frustrated at her inability to penny pinch, especially because of her days being poor. It wasn't like she was destitute, but she liked to save money. She never knew when it might come in handy.
The girl hummed a sweet melody as she pulled up to check out. She had eliminated some of the items, enough so that she could carry them, but the bags would most definitely be full. She pulled her hair back behind her ear, getting her card from the *very* bottom of her purse. It was a struggle, but in the end she prevailed. "Ah ha!" She exclaimed. She giggled, grinning widely, even when the cashier gave her a strange look. She payed for the items, grabbed the bags, and led her still abused feet outside. The sun beamed down as she smiled at her newly bought groceries, deciding that despite of her grueling journey to the supermarket, today would be a good day.
