PERSONALITY
General personality:
Eisley, to those who knew her before the passing of her husband, was a very happy, quick-witted young woman with a yearning for knowledge. But after the tragic end of her husband Jon, she became quieter... darker. Some say that this change started after her sister, Lucy, died and others say it was all just the shock of seeing a man killed before her. But all the same, Eisley was changed. And those you are close to her might be the only ones to know of the young woman that once was.
Cunning, distant, and often times percieved as cold, Eisley is everything that makes a good criminal pyschologist. To men, she is beauty, confident, and there is just something about her that seems darkly alluring. Eisley tends to not get along to well with other women, finding many of them too dependent on the men in there lives. She was always taught to do for herself, therefore she does not enjoy the company of any who need to be waited on hand and foot. It is something that tends to easily annoy her, and seeing as how she has a raging temper a good amount of the time, could eventually put her into the chair her patients often sit in.
Ever since the end to her affair with Von Drake, even her husband found her more... mysterious and something about her more darkly beautiful. And even her personality has taken on the traits, making her more and more to herself, keeping things secret.... from even her husband. All in all, Eisley is a handful of a woman who may have a darker side that even those around her cannot see.

People percieve Eisley as a woman who is intelligent and knows what she wants and when she wants it. She is independent and compelled by her work. Many believe that she has grown more to herself ever since the death of her late husband, though some grow suspicious about her and the disappearances she makes frequently. A lot of people honestly don't know how to perceive the young woman, but most respect her... either for honest respect or some even in fear.
History:
Eisley Armina Harker was born to Armina and John Seward of London on a cool, stormy October 29th. She was the last and youngest child of the family, having only one sister, Kaelin Lucille Seward, lovingly called Lucy by many. Armina Seward died in childbirth that night, leaving John to raise the two girls. Both Lucy and Eisley, lovingly called by her late mothers name of Mina, grew up to want nothing. They both attended the best private schools in England and were the top of their classes, gaining the highest marks in their years. Lucy, though intelligent, chose to marry right out of high school to Edward Jasper Marx, her high school sweetheart. Though Mina and her father believed she was wasting her life, they supported her regardless and on December 23rd, Lucy became Mrs. Marx. Mina was not so ready to settle down and shortly after the marriage, ended things with her then boyfriend, Anthony Damien Pierce. With her schooling her number one priority, Mina set off to Oxford.
By the time she was 20 however, she met a man with goals like her own, Jonathan Edward Harker. Their romance was well-planned, much like their own lives. And after just a year of dating, they married and Mina became Eisley Armina Harker. Soon she found herself swept up into high society teas and social events, something that she had some of growing up but had never given much thought to. Jonathan was a partner at a bank and came from a long line of nobility, so this was expected of a young wife such as herself. Between afternoon teas, working with criminals as a pyschologist, and spending time maintaing her home, she felt like she had no time to herself. And soon... Jonathan began to speak of children. Kids? They sounded nice but she wasn't ready with her hectic life and new marriage. And after just a year of their marriage, she found herself growing intriqued by a man, a count by the name of Eric Gerard Von Drake. And her husband, as quirky and intellectual as he had always been, had made friends with Dr. Abram Helsing, a detective and former pyschologist from America. Her husband would come home, talking of theories and suspicions Helsing would make... and eventually she came to notice most centered around the count she was so infatuated with, Eric Von Drake. Even still, this did nothing to stop her and she began a whirlwind affair with the count.
Jonathan was always so wrapped up into his work and Helsing's company that he barely noticed the abscence of his beautiful wife. But only 3 months into her affiar with Von Drake, he up and disappeared, not even leaving a whisper of his name on the streets of London. Though Mina could almost feel his presence at night... his whispers still ringing in her ears and his kiss upon her lips every morning when she awakened. She felt as if she was consumed by thoughts of him. Even the startling news that her husband brought her from Helsing couldn't shake her thoughts of Eric. Abram had discovered that Eric was wanted for murders that had been recently sweeping through London and he was bent on tracking him down and bringing him in. He also muttered much about supernatural dealings that he swore surrounded this case and her love, Eric. So with her husbands obsession with Helsing, they soon joined him on his chase after Von Drake. Her sister, Lucy, joined them on their journey, needing a break from her rapidly dissolving marriage with Edward.
In Venice, they encountered Eric, and she couldn't help but feel drawn to him still, even with the accusations of murder against his name. It wasn't until the murder of her sister Lucy that she begin wake up... realizing the man her heart desired more than anything was a cold blooded killer. From there, everything seemed like it flashed by. Eric coming to see her, Helsing killing him as he apparently tried to attack her, Lucy's funeral... it was all too much to handle. Her life felt empty... different now. Abram Helsing was awarded for the tracking down Eric and though he went back to America shortly after, kept in touch. He kept telling Jon about how he was worried for her, Mina... that she didn't seem the same since Venice.
A few months after they buried Lucy, her father died and what little family she had left pretty much went with him. Things were getting more and more distant between herself and Jonathan, almost as the dreams of Eric became worse. By the time she celebrated her twenty-fourth birthday, things with Jonathan were at an all-time low and he suddenly became ill. After two months of suffering, Jonathan Edward Harker died, leaving Mina a widow at only 24. Some say he was stubborn... refusing medical treatment for the rapidly spreading disease that had ravaged his body. Others said he died of a broken heart upon seeing his young wife change so drastically since the death of her sister. While she buried her husband... she noticed a man, one Dorian Gray, that caught her eye. Her husband had mentioned him once before and she once again felt intrigued for the first time since Eric had died.
Now, at 26 years of age, Mina, or more commonly known now as Eisley, is living in New York City. Shortly after the funeral, she found herself reconnecting with Abram and gaining information about Dorian. Abram seemed reluctant to hand over such info to the widow of his recently deceased friend but did anyways, hoping that maybe she was coming back around and would soon be her old self. But what Helsing didn't know was her plan to find Dorian. Eisley/Mina felt as if she had to find this man... someone who intriqued her the way Eric once had. So now, working as a pyschologist in NYC, she still hunts for the man called Dorian Gray... eager to see what shadows lurk around him and eager to get to know the man that seemed so like her Eric.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample:
Her eyes felt heavy and it felt as if her skull had been caught between two colliding trains. And the day wasn't even finished with yet. Before her sat one of NYC's most twisted criminals, rambling on about his twisted motives for killing the innocent and here she was, literally ignoring every word he said. It wasn't like she really needed to pay that much attention to him... she had already classified his case perfectly only two sessions before. This was more to humor the patient and the system at this point.
It seemed sad, that while her colleagues looked to this job as their life, she now merely thought of it as somewhere to spend her days. Rubbing the temples of her head with a well manicured nail, she finally succeeded in focusing her attention back oh her patient, Anthony. "So your still talking about the first murder you committed, correct Mr. Dobbs? The murder of a girl, one..." She flipped through her notes, scanning for the name. "Ah, Ms. Anita Baker." She straightened herself up in her chair, smoothing out the wrinkles in her black pinstriped pencil skirt.
It was all she could do some days to keep it tamed, the growing insanity that swept over her. Most days, she won the battle... but on days like this she could tell she was losing the neverending war. She blinked, taking in a deep breath as Anthony rattled off what he had considered as murder weapons. Once again, though her pen scratched across the tablet of paper she held in her hands, her mind wandered. Her thoughts rested upon Eric and something in her blood stirred. The same thing always seemed to happen when she thought of Dorian, though it wasn't nearly as strong. She needed to find out more about him... she just had to.
Shaking her head, she ran a hand through her long, dark curls and nodded along as Anthony continued talking. It was amazing how well she could play off listening. If only he knew she really didn't care about a word he was saying. She would probably end up on that long list of murders that he had accomplished and months from now, could be talking about to his new, living pyschologist.
Tell us WHY your original character would fit with the theme of this board:
Eisley Armina Harker is based off a character from a well known classic, Dracula. Eisley is essentially Mina Harker... with a few little twists and updates thrown in. She is going to be tied into Dorian Gray's story because he is unique and she will be drawn to him, basically obsessed with hunting him down. Eisley will give friendship, drama, and some romance to characters regardless of what story their from. In a sense, she can be sort of a free spirit.
I have a small idea of where I'm going with her but nothing too big right now. So that also leaves her open for a plot that could be needed with another character. I feel like she is versatile and can bring something a bit differnet to all of the tales that we have going on already. She's classic literature that was not in the cannons but that would tie in with the theme with a bit of modernizing as I have already tried to do. =)
