"As my lady wishes. Something to entertain, not to frighten. A good magician knows how to play to her audience. I will arrange a performance to suit your needs, my Lady."
Lady Catherine's smile broadened; the magician's turn of address was just the sort she liked and appreciated. That and she had a way with words. It was most refreshing.
Of course, Her Ladyship had no idea of Puck's true feelings on her garden party; she was the sort who thought such things were the height of fashion in everyone's books and only a subject of disdain to those who weren't in the know. Therefore, as Puck explained the peformance she would give, Her Ladyship was not at all phased.
"Excellent," she said, in a brisk and business-like manner despite her smile. "Most excellent. It was a pleasure to meet you Miss Goodfellow, and we shall be in touch in due course, no doubt. I'd best let you get back to your audience."
With that and a slight nod of the head, Her Ladyship made her way back through the audience and away from the scene, feeling very smug. Just the ticket for a few extra compliments.
(Fin for Her Ladyship. Thank you so much for a fantastic thread! :3)
