Hector opened his mouth to begin to respond but the shrill cry of his cellphone cut him off. Huffing, Hector pulled it from his pocket and glanced at the caller id. It was Antonin. "Forgive me, I have to take this," Hector sat up and pressed answer. "Yes Antonin?"
"Hey boss we uh...we might have a problem,"
"What sort of problem?"
"You know how Johnny's been MIA for the past two weeks? We just found 'im stuffed in a barrel on the docks."
"That's...unfortunate," Hector practically growled. A barrel on the docks was a signature mafia move, but not from his family. Some other family was making moves on his turf, probably since he was getting into the political. They may be taking his choice as a sign of weakness, a chance to move in and take over the empire he had built from the ground up. "I'll be over in twenty minutes," Hector hung up and looked over at Penelope. "I'm afraid I must go. There's a slight problem at the bookstore,"

Penelope looked at Hector disoncertingly.
"Go then. I won't stop you. I hope it isn't anything too serious." She felt uneasy as she spoke. Tormei looked angry. There was no standing between that man and whatever he had to do. She remembered how unsettling the man could be when he was angry.
"I should head back too. They're probably expecting me at the Gardens." Penelope smiled as she got up and acked away her picnic things into her canvas bag. She held out a hand to Tormei. "See you later then?" She asked nervously, unsure of how their meeting had gone, whether he wanted to see her again or not...
(OC: sorry! I've been busy. we should ICC soon ^^)

"I am sorry to cut this short," Hector apologized as he stood up, grabbing his jacket as he went. This was a pressing issue that he had to take care of right away. But of course, there was Penelope. It was odd to find himself enjoying her company so much, as he was, and since his life lacked a feminine presence, Hector wanted to preserve her's. Considering all the avenues they could use to stay in contact, Hector went to the internet solution imediately. His phone was reserved for his men to call him on and that was it and ground mail was outdated. "We can continue this talk online, if you are agreeable,"
Hector needed to get his life sorted out. So much to deal with, but online was the best choice. Using the internet, Hector would be able to multitask without giving away anything to Penny. That way, Hector could communicate to Penelope and his men at the same time. That would be the best choice. Hector took Penelope's offered hand in his own and dropped a kiss on her knuckles. "I'd offer my car to get you where ever you need to go, but unfortunately, that isn't possible,"
((Yes we should))

Penelope silently damned her fair complexion as Tormei went off to fix whatever problem he had at the bookstore. She was sure her face was red as a tomato. It figured that any sort of gentle-manly behaviour would send her into a minor tizzy. Penelope sighed and shook her head, opting not to waste time chastisizing herself and slipped her shoes back her feet when everything was packed away in her bag. She headed in the opposite direction, on her way back to the Botanical Gardens, only stopping once to look back and see Tormei slipping out of view in the distance as she left her favourite lunch spot behind.
