I'm working on a novel too for Nano so I thought I'd post my character charts and plot synopsis here for my sake and your viewing pleasure

Plot synopsis:

Gideon Howler has worked his whole. Now that he's been forced into retirement, he doesn't know what to do with himself. He decides to do something that he's always enjoyed: annoy the shit out of his ex-wife. Gideon begins to hand around her law firm 24/7 bugging her when he can and helping others as needed. That's where he met Donny Stewart. A secretary who wanted to be a curator. Amused by her ambition, Gideon befriends her the best way he knows how; flirting.

Of course his ex-wife doesn't like that. Neither does Richard Dean, the young man who seems to be interested in Donny. Gideon learns more about Donny and himself than he ever thought he could and finds a way to cope/deal with his retirement.

Title: Bottomed Out
Summary: An international, extremist group called Central (will get a better name eventually) infiltrates all major countries and launches nuclear bombs across the world creating a nuclear holocaust. All of Asia, Africa, and the majority of Europe and South America are gone. Central decides for USA to be it's new promised land and invades. A group rises against Central lead by a young woman named Russel. The resistence becomes a major force that confronts Central head on.
