Hi, my name is Jake and this is my first character. I found this site through a forum add. Something you should know about me is I love the opera.
Canon: Jane Austen's Pride And Prejudice
Custom Title: She improves her mind by extensive reading.
PHYSICAL
Age: Twenty-Two
Gender: Female
Appearance: While her eldest sister, Jane, has the honorary title of "most beautiful" of the Bennet daughters, Elizabeth comes in a very close second. She has a simple elegance about her, not relying on flashy fashions or ostentatious make up. Standing at 5'7", Elizabeth is a tall young woman; though, there are certainly taller girls out there. She takes good care of her body, making sure to eat sensibly and to get a fair amount of exorcise. This leaves her to have a thin build, but also having some lean muscle as well.
Elizabeth's eye are a warm shade of Hazel. Her eyes can be friendly and inviting, but can quickly change to sly observance whenever she feels the occasion calls for it. Her hair, like her eyes, is also a warm brown color. Having been through a few different hairstyles, Elizabeth decided she liked having longer hair. She takes good care of her hair, washing it a few times a week and rarely using heat instruments (blow-dryers, hot-rollers, straighteners, etc.).
If you were look in Elizabeth's closet, you'd find a different array of clothing, but quite a few dresses and cardigans. Her fashion sense is sensible, yet elegant. Elizabeth can usually be found in an elegant day dress, a soft cardigan, and a smart pair of flats. However, she also enjoys jeans, t-shirts, as well. In whatever she's wearing, she tries not to look sloppy; her clothes are always clean, pressed, and mended.
Play By: Natalie Portman
PERSONALITY
General personality: Elizabeth Bennet dearly loves to laugh. She tries to find amusement in all aspects of her life, whether it be something that makes her burst into laughter or just smile in passing. She takes pleasure in learning and values her education very much. She can usually be found with her nose in some nose in some sort of book. Despite her studious ways, Elizabeth also enjoys having a good time, her favorite pass time being dancing. Elizabeth believes it encourages affection.
Being as studious and intelligent as she is, she's deemed herself a rather good judge of human character. Elizabeth is always ready to offer a "wise" observation on someone or something. Much to the surprise of others and sometimes herself, she's usually right...usually. If she doesn't have an observation on you, give her some time. She'll offer it in due course.
Her biggest personality flaw lies in her pride or, if you happen to be Elizabeth, her proud nature. Either way you put it, she's proud and stubborn. She would describe herself as having a deep sense of honor, meaning that if you insult someone that's close to her, you won't be forgiven easily. This can be a good or a bad thing. Good in the sense that she defends her loved ones, bad in the sense that she doesn't forgive easily.
Quotes, frequently used expressions: "...in my limited experience." usually said after offering one of her observations.

History: Elizabeth Renee Bennet was born and raised in Ware, Hertfordshire to Mr. and Mrs. Bennet. Her father was an attorney and her mother was a housewife. Elizabeth, or Lizzie as she's called by some, had a rather normal life. She was a rather studious young girl and quickly became her father's favorite. Her father was a skilled piano player and when she became old enough, he began to teach her. Aside from her immediate family, their extended family also visited occasionally.
Lizzie was a straight A student in school and could usually be found in a corner with her nose in a book. When she was ten, her aunt and uncle Collins came to stay with the Bennett family. That was when she first met her cousin. She found him boring and rather weaselly from the beginning; he talked for no other reason to hear the sound of his own voice. Finally the left and the Bennett house went back to relative peace.
The peace lasted until her two youngest sisters entered their teen years. Constant giggling could be heard as one walked throughout the house, which was lovely until it came time to sleep or study. Despite her giggly and flirty young sisters, Elizabeth was rather content with her life. She had a wonderful relationship with her eldest sister and her father while still loving her mother and three younger sisters very much.
Finally, the end of school came. Due to her many years of hard work and studying, Elizabeth finished school with some of the highest marks in her class. Despite her deep love for Hertfordshire and her family, Elizabeth wanted a change of pace. She applied for admissions into Columbia University in New York City and was accepted. Bidding goodbye to England and her family, Elizabeth made her way to New York.
It took a few months for her to adjust to a fast-paced city life, but she finally did. She's in her Jr. year of Columbia and is hoping to be a teacher when she graduates.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample: "Elizabeth, do come inside!" her mother's voice called to her. Lizzie lifted her eyes in the direction of her mother's voice. "Coming!" she called out to her. Lizzie noticed that the sun was sinking in the sky and that darkness was beginning to creep into the countryside. She sighed slightly; the book she had been reading was so wonderful that she lost herself in it.
Lizzie slowly walked back to her house, glancing at the scenery as she went. Despite her excitement for going to New York, a small part of her was sad to leave the beauty of Hertfordshire. She'd miss the clean air and the general openness of it all.
When she made it inside, her mother informed her it was time for dinner. She didn't eat much at dinner, just picking at her food really. Her family made conversation, but the most of it went unnoticed to her. As dinner ended, the family went it there separate ways in the house.
Lizzie made her way to her room and laid on the bed. The window was open and the cool night wind blew her curtains. She looked out the window and observed how bright the night skies were. Finally, she decided to be a part of it. Lizzie grabbed a blanket and her iPod and quietly sneaked out the back door. Her father wouldn't mind, but if her mother found her, she'd be quite displeased.
She spread her blanket out on the soft grass beneath her and lied down. The beauty of the night called for music just as beautiful. Lizzie searched in her iPod until she found her opera playlist. She selected it and let the sounds from some of the most beautiful singers in the world fill her ears.
The sky moon was full and the stars gave the field a silver illumination. Lizzie closed her eyes, letting herself relax into a sense of contentment. The song changed and the sounds of "Nessun Dorma" caused her to smile. "Nessun Dorma" was her favorite aria.
Before she knew it, her eyes began to close in sleep. She gave herself over to it, drifting off into an easy peaceful slumber.
