Hi, my name is Jen and this is my First character. I found this site through Tay/Sylvia. Something you should know about me is I kinda totally new to this whole RP thing, but I’ve been convinced that it’s awesome, so here I am. I’m pretty chill, I’m quite fond of Harry Potter, and I’m a little bit addicted to writing.

PERSONALITY
General personality: Kathy can come across as standoffish and unfriendly. She has a very dry, quick, and mocking sense of humour that a lot of people don’t quite get. She doesn’t go out of her way to make new friends, simply because she likes the life she has and doesn’t feel any need to bring new people into it. She’s not about to stick her nose in where it’s not wanted, and won’t give advice unless she’s asked to or if she thinks a friend really needs it.
Despite all that, she’s a sweet girl. She has a big heart and good intentions. Once someone gets through her uncaring exterior, she considers them a friend for life and will do anything to protect them. She’ll put aside her own problems and hurt if it means being there for someone she considers a true friend. Being there for the few people she loves is what really matters to her.
She’s contradictory of herself, and sometimes too forgiving. She likes to hang out, and is always up for a good time. She’s terrified of heights and failing at anything - especially school, which is something she’s always enjoyed.
Quotes, frequently used expressions: “Well, shit.” “Didn’t think about that one, huh?”

- Smart
- Doesn’t let people get under her skin

BACKGROUND
Family: Parents - Heath (deceased) and Gwen. Brother - Alex.
Education: High school, good grades and a scholarship to university that she had to turn down due to lack of money.
Occupation: Waitressing.
Worst past experience: There was a house fire when she was seven. Her mother got her brother out, and her father came for her. He got her out, but she had already been burned slightly on her right hip. Her father then went back in for the family pet, but didn’t make it out alive. Sometimes she’s sure she remembers the sound of his screaming.
Best past experience: The day Two-Bit proved everyone wrong and admitted he loved her.
Image: She might look somewhat innocent, but she tends to come off as uncaring and rude. Most girls who try to befriend her think she’s a bitch, and most guys think she’s a prude if she won’t give them the time of day.
History:
Kathy had a pretty decent childhood up until the age of seven. Until then it had been her, her parents, and her brother. They had lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and though they didn’t have a whole lot of money to their name, Heath and Gwen did what they could to raise their children in a happy environment.
A few months after Kathy’s seventh birthday, a house fire killed her father while he was trying to save the family cat. Though she’s sure none of them are really over it, neither her mom or brother ever talked about it and Kathy quickly learned to do the same. What had once been a close family soon became a mother who worked too often - partly by choice - and a brother who started hanging around with the wrong crowed. This left Kathy alone a lot.
Once she got to high school she realised that her life didn’t have to revolve around wondering why her family was never home. She learned to separate her time between concentrating on her school work, and socialising. She made friends, went to parties, dated, smoked, and drank, but she was smart, too. She had high hopes of getting herself a scholarship and leaving Tulsa and her family behind.
She had known of Two-Bit Mathews for a while before meeting him when she was sixteen. They shared one class at school, and went to the same parties. It was at one of those parties - after a few drinks and a lot of flirting - that they first hooked up. She didn’t think much of it at first, but after a few weeks she couldn’t get him out of her mind. It seemed to her that maybe he felt the same because they hooked up again at another party a few weeks later. After that they were inseparable for a few months.
Their relationship was pretty on-again off-again until she graduated high school. She received a scholarship to a small college, but unable to afford to go, she stuck around in Tulsa for a while, taking up a job as a waitress. Not long later, she had a pregnancy scare. As unsure and confused as she was about it all, she decided she had to tell Two-Bit. Ultimately, it was the end of their relationship.
After working for a while, she decided she needs to get out of Tulsa. She saves up enough money to head to New York, hoping to eventually go to school.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample:
Staring at the blonde curl wrapped around her fingers, Kathy thought that maybe she should colour her hair. A nice dark brown would be cool, or even a sexy red. She smirked; she could always go completely outrageous and throw in some purple streaks with hot-pink tips. Or, possibly an even better idea, she could just chop all of it off.
Tugging on one long strand, she clenched her jaw and glared at the toilet. This wasn’t supposed to happen, not to girls like her. She was good … for the most part. Okay, so she smoked and drank and had sex, but shit, she tried not to break the law, she was polite to her mom, and she got damn good grades. She deserved to be more than some trailer-trash girl who got knocked up by her boyfriend-who-was-only-sometimes-her-boyfriend.
Two-Bit. Christ. She could barely stand to think about what he was going to say. Part of her was sure he would take off, not giving a shit or even sticking around long enough to hear the end result. Another part - the part that believed him when he said nice things to her - believed he might just do the right thing by her. He didn’t have to necessarily marry her; she would be happy if he didn’t take off, get drunk, and fuck the first blonde he came across.
She stood, grabbed her toothbrush and some toothpaste, trying to decide what to do first; Two-Bit or the doctor? If she went to Two-Bit first then he might go to the doctor with her. But if she went to the doctor first and found out it was just one big false alarm, then that would just be fan-fucking-tastic. No need to worry Two-Bit and potentially ruin a relationship over nothing, right?
Except she wasn’t sure she could do it alone. She loved Two-Bit and she fucking needed him, and with that realisation, her decision was made. Whether he was going to buck up and be a man about it was yet to be seen, but for now, he was just going to have to deal with it and go with her.
