After he had landed a secure job, a good friend of his experienced an unfortunate and untimely death. John was left with his daughter Cecily, who had no living relatives. She was only three at the time. He hired a nanny, who did much of the raising and private tutoring in his stead.
John achieved a good job and high social status, much of which was thanks to his foster father's wealth.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample: Jack rounded the corner and emerged on a busy street lined with bars and other night life facilities. He had had a long day at work, and needed to loosen his collar a bit. He made his way over to the nearest night club, from which loud music could be heard inside. The bouncer let him right in, seeing as he was a frequent visitor here.
Ordering himself something to drink, he sat down at one of the bar stools. This was just another typical night for him. It was great to be able to get a break from his stressful life.
A new song came on, one of his personal favorites. He immediately made his way closer to the DJ, breaking into dance. He kept this up until near the end of the song, when he barely heard over the music his phone ringing. He quickly made his way to a quieter area to answer.
It was his boss. "Hello sir," he said. "Worthing? What's all that music in the background? Oh, never mind. We have a new guy coming in tomorrow, and I'm going to need you to be in early so that he has someone to show him around," was the reply. "Yes sir, no problem," he lied.
After a short discussion on the topic, the phone call was ended. Resisting the urge to return to the dance floor, he left the club. He had to get some sleep if he was going to come in early. Sighing, he made his way back to his car, parked a short while away. Responsibility comes before fun.
