I only just realized in all my months here I never actually made an introductory thread. XD So I decided I'd make one. Because I can.
-ahem-
My online alais is Nessie, as in the Loch Ness Monster. I'm a five foot five, ginger haired bespectacled Scot with an unhealthy addiction to pasta, writing, acting and roleplaying. XD
I go be a whole host of other names...Cat, Kitty, Dragon Shrimp, Old Man, Rickyboy, That Shakespeare/Dickens Quoting Geek, Scrooge McDuck, Norma, Smidge, Waffles, Clarence...
Yes, a lot of those make no sense/are inside jokes. =P
I'll also answer to my character names as well. ^^
On RC, as you probably know, I play Ira Fagin, Richard Plantagenet and Lady Catherine de Bourgh. All of them, I have come to realize, are pretty nasty pieces of work. =P What does that say about me?
Three days ago I finished my IGCSE exams and now have my summer holidays stretching away in front of me. -grins- Lots of time for roleplaying methinks.
I currently reside in Shanghai, China (and have been here for the past five years). Before coming here I lived in Belgium for two years and before THAT I lived in England for nine years. I have an accent that's a cross between English and American (thanks to having a best friend who's from the States) but hopefully my accent will change when I move back to Scotland for the next academic year.
I'm going to attend Dollar Academy at the foot of the Ochil Hills, where I shall study English, History, Geography, Drama and Classical Studies. I'm really excited, particularly about the drama, as my life's ambition (well, one of many) is to become an actor and have my name on a marquee somewhere (Broadway or the West End, perhaps?).
As you know I love to write; I mostly write fanfiction pertaining to the works of Messrs Dickens and Shakespeare. However I have tried to write my own stuff before and (I can't believe I'm going to tell you all this, haha) once wrote a trilogy entitled 'The Unicorn Gem Trilogy' about some unicorns who lived an an enchanted forest and had to stop an evil sorcerer taking over it... My goodness, it's embarrassing just recalling the title.
I am currently finishing up my interpretation of the back story of Bill Sykes of Oliver Twist fame (aptly titled 'Bill Sykes', haha) as well as working on a musical parody based on Richard III. You are sworn to secrecy on that one, my dears...I don't want anyone stealing my crazy ideas. XD
When it's done, or parts of it are done at any rate (I've penned a couple of songs and one whole scene; it was on hiatus due to exams) I'll post it here at RC for you all to read if you like. Now I'm no Shakespeare but hopefully it will make for an entertaining read nonetheless.
Speaking of reading, I devour books like...someone that devours books. /simile fail
I am currently reading 'The Sunne In Splendour' by Sharon Penman, 'King Henry VI Part III' by William Shakespeare and 'The Scottish Play' by William Shakespeare. I need to branch out more. XD My most recent 'modern' book was Bill Bryson's 'Notes From A Small Island'; a hilarious look at jolly old England, bonny Scotland, Wales and parts of Ireland as well, as I recall. Absolutely spiffing, what what!
I love to use outdated phrases and put on fake accents in my everyday speech. I also love to quote Shakespeare, Dickens or famous historical figures at every opportunity. =P
One final thing before I cease in my ramblings.
Waistcoats FTW.
That is all. XD
If you read all that, I salute you. -salutes- All the best, my dears, and happy roleplaying!
