Hi, my name is Kay and this is my FOURTH character. Something you should know about me is I went through eight or so possibilities for a fourth character before deciding on Tommy here. And yes, I know that Keres are supposed to be women but you know what? Gods don't really have genders. Also, Keres are more of an abstraction, not set figures in Greek mythology. They are goddesses of violent death which is why Tommy is a serial killer.

Middle Class
Canon: Greek Mythology
Custom Title: The Leather Apron
PHYSICAL
Age: 49
Gender: Male
Orientation: Asexual
Appearance: Tommy stands out in a crowd only when people take the time to actually look at him because he doesn't have much of a presence. He has a very square face, large jaw, heavy brow, and sharp cheek bones that he attempts to de-emphasize during the day by walking about with his head down. His hair, curly medium brown, is kept trimmed relatively short most of the time for practicality, emphasizing his angled features. When angry or upset, Tommy tends to look a bit like a bulldog because he has a wide, thin mouth and sunken eyes but tries to never let others see him this way; it is rare for any person to see Tommy upset and live. When smiling though (which isn't often), Tommy has a very pleasant, warm smile as long as it is a smile of mirth. He has another smile, a sinister smile that he reserves for his kills.
For a man his age, Tommy is in really good shape. He works out regularly and is used to heavy lifting for his jobs so his arms are very well built. Tommy works hard to make sure that he doesn't have any body fat and the result is a lean, hard look that he will occasionally use to his advantage. Tommy's hands are rough and calloused from his work at his funeral services business; his fingerprints have been burnt off from working the crematorium. Tommy is very self-conscious of his hands and feels that most people wouldn't like them because they are too rough and scarred. He has a dark and obvious farmer's tan, his arms, head, and neck being a dark tan while the rest of his body is his natural skin color, a light tan, from too many hours in the sun. Tommy does have a need for corrective lenses but tries to always wear contacts instead of busting out his eye glasses because he feels that he looks silly and weak in regular glasses.
Height: 5'10"
Weight/Body Type: Lean and musculer

PERSONALITY
General personality: Tommy is a pretty quiet guy. He never raises his voice, no matter how angry he gets. To deal with anger on the rare occasion that he experiences it, Tommy bottles it inside and releases during his next kill. His victim's deaths always reflect whatever emotional state Tommy was in when he killed them. When he is at his baseline the kills are clean and executed perfectly. Whenever Tommy is experiencing some emotional high, either joy or anger, the kills are sloppy and have signs of overkill. That being said, Tommy doesn't usually feel anger. In fact, he doesn't feel any of the stronger emotions. He lives an emotionally monotonous existence but is very adept at faking it. When in front of customers he is consoling and a comforting presence even though Tommy could care less. He is concerned only with his set standard of right and wrong and not with emotions. An overly pragmatic man, Tommy makes decisions based on the logical choice rather than the "right" or "politically correct" choice. He lives in his own world of morality; women have one of two functions. They are either rewards for proper behavior or a wicked temptation. If a woman is the latter of the two, Tommy does not seek to punish them. Instead, he wants to punish the men who cannot resist them. Men are the beings who must rise to a god-like level according to Tommy, an ironic belief considering he does not believe in god. The men who fall prey to their greed and worldly temptations do not deserve to live or to rectify those mistakes so Tommy targets them.
Having no dreams or aspirations, Tommy is very comfortbale where he is and has no want to move up socially. The only problem he ever encounters is when he feels trapped and wants to get away. When this happens, Tommy simply retreats to a cabin he has in Vermont. He makes sure that his kills don't draw attention to him though, changing the method and victimology each time. He may not come across as very smart but Tommy is actually quite calculating and cautious. He knows enough forensics to know how much evidence he can afford to leave behind without being caught. When he does screw up and contaminate a scene, Tommy uses his resources to dispose of the body depending on which is easier at the time. He will either cremate, dismember, sink, or boil his victims and then get rid of the evidence from that as needed. If dismembered or boiled the victims are carried out to his farm land and used as compost.
When killing, Tommy is extraordinarily violent. Even though he kills in the streets he likes to inflict as much pain as possible as a form of punishment. Tommy has perfected a method of killing that is both agonizing and effective. He uses fear to his advantage, employing silence and the tease of help being so close to make his victims hysterical before offing them. This moment of paralyzing fear is what Tommy considers the beginning of their payment, their death being the completion of payment. Tommy only ever kills men and has never killed a woman before. He respects the fairer sex even though he thinks that they have little to no function.
Tommy is asexual and does not feel love. He does not bother himself with finding a romantic relationship but does appreciate companionship. The closest he ever got to a relationship was when he lived with a lesbian in his early twenties. While Tommy doesn't have friends in the usual sense he will get along with certain people for a few reasons. If one is intellectually superior or shares Tommy's view, he would probably like them as much as he can. He is a virgin but does not care really and hates physical contact. Tommy will react with violence to unwanted touches and does not offer physical contact as a form of comfort or congradulations.
Quirk wise, Tommy is boring. He doesn't do things an odd way or react strangely to situations. He does not fear anything besides being found out and even then he sees it as an inconvenient occurance rather than a completely negative thing. The only thing of note is his choice to be vegan. Tommy is completely against animal cruelty and has sworn off all animal products.

BACKGROUND
Family: Damien Nathaniel - nephew
Education: Pre-Med, dropped out after first semester. All necessary courses and liscensing to become a mortician and have a business in body disposal.
Occupation: Owns a cemetary and offers cremation, body disposal, and other such services.
Image: The quiet guy you talk to about taking care of your loved ones. Unassuming and generally a sweet man.
History: Tommy doesn't know where he was born or who he was born to. He was in the system his entire childhood up until he was 16 when he broke off to live his own life. Tommy didn't have very many happy moments growing up, many of his foster parents being neglectful or downright abusive. When he was eight, Tommy was forced to watch as his foster parents entertained guests who were there to see their daughter, an underage prostitute who operated through their home. At the same household Tommy was molested by one of the clients. Looking back, he would say that it was then that he became asexual. From early on Tommy has associated sex with pain so he avoids it at all times.
At age 16 Tommy got a job as a hand at a local ranch. The ranch raised and sold animals for slaughter and Tommy was asked to accompany the owner throughout the process once. The ranch owner had plans for Tommy to take over the ranch but after seeing the hogs slaughtered Tommy refused and got another job as a janitor for a church. He swore off animal products and was fully vegan by age 18. Tommy worked as a janitor for a little over a year before he had saved enough money to attend college. Throughout every period in his life Tommy had taught himself all he could so that he may one day become a doctor. He was accepted into a medical school despite lacking in secondary education because of entrance exam scores. Tommy performed really well for the first month or so but began the downward spiral that would lead him to killing. He witnessed his priveleged male classmates throw their family's money and their opportunity away on drugs and women. Outraged, Tommy confronted one of his classmates, Darren Mosier, after hours about it. They argued which deteriorated into a physical fight. Still strong from his time on the ranch Tommy overpowered Darren and broke his neck. Instead of panicing, Tommy felt a rush of power and adrenalin while at the same time relishing the cathartic release of emotion. Tommy disposed of Darren's body using a local canal and some chemicals from the body preservation class to melt the tissue. Darren Mosier's body has never been identified and Darren Mosier is still listed as missing.
At that point Tommy switched his focus. He dropped out of pre-med and went through the motions of becoming a certified mortician. He worked full time while attending school full time and was able to find a job in a family run operation right out of school. The family that took Tommy in at that point became his only known family, the Nathaniel family. They adopted the 23 year old who took over the family business after the parents retired. Ever an industrious man, Tommy expanded the business as much as he could. All the while he continued to kill young men but not very often. When he first began, Tommy would only kill once every couple of months. As he grew older the killings became more frequent.
Tommy began to coast after gaining his business. He receeded into the background of New York society, becoming the man that everyone had to meet at one point of another to deal with a loved one's last wishes. Tommy bought a ranch up north that he spends time at periodically throughout the year and that has been the extent of any excitement. He's made a name for himself as a nice, trustworthy man who was curteous and helpful within the community. Over the years, Tommy has accumulated about 86 victims but the police have never been able to link the murders to each other let alone Tommy. He has killed a range of boys, the youngest being 12 and the older 89, of all races, social class, sexual orientation, and occupation. Now nearing 50, Tommy has continued a slow but steady life, killing every couple of weeks or so. Very recently he has rescued two dogs from being put down; a three-legged Chihuaha named Max and a blind Great Dane-German Sheppard mix named Sven.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample:
It was sickening. Absolutely disgusting and so disappointing. Tommy leaned against the wall and looked down the alley at the pair that he had been following. An older gentleman, accounting type, and a young boy, no older than 14. A customer and his jailbait prostitute. Tommy waited against the wall until the older man had his pants around his knees and the boy's head bobbing between his legs before Tommy moved forward. He pulled a knife from his pocket and slid it open silently as he made his way forward. The older man saw him. "Fuck off man, this is my corner. I don't need a fucking voyeur,". The prostitute's eyes moved to watch Tommy as he serviced the older man, sizing him up. Tommy's mouth twisted up in the corner, forming a hard sneer. The knife came into view and the prostitute saw it first. The boy started to scramble away but Tommy moved quicker than the boy could. Kicking out with his boot, the prostitute went sprawling on the ground. The old man started to pull up his pants to run but again, Tommy was quicker. Grabbing the man's head, Tommy twisted sharply and relished in the crack that followed. Pushing the body on top of the still stunned prostitute, Tommy knelt over the pair.
First he checked the old man, pressing his fingers to his neck to find a pulse. There was one, the neck snapping didn't kill him. Good. Tommy slid the knife into the man's neck slowly, piercing the skin and meat, slicing through veins. As the blood began to pour he removed the knife and wiped it on the man's suit. Then he turned to the thrashing prostitute. The boy tried to scream but the weight of the body on top of him kept him from doing so.
"Shh," Tommy soothed, covering the boy's mouth and nose with one hand, clamping down. With renewed strength the boy thrashed around, clawed at Tommy's leather jacket and moaned. Strangulation could take so long but Tommy was a patient man. He could wait. He waited for the thrashing to become jerking to become twitching to being still. Tommy pulled back his hand and wiped the spit and snot on his pant leg. Feeling much better, far more relaxed and a great deal less angry, Tommy walked away from the scene. He lit a cigarette as he merged with the main street, strolling purposefully to the only working phonebooth in the area.
As he approached the booth Tommy jingled the pre-measured money in his pocket. Quarters for a phone call. Stepping into the booth and closing the door, Tommy deposited the coins and dialed. 9-1-1.
"911. What's your emergency?"
"You'll find two more bodies behind Finnigan's Pub on Milton Road," Tommy spoke slowly. His already raspy voice sounded harsh and inhuman, even in his own ears. It always did after a kill.
"Sir, could you repeat that?"
"Two more bodies. Finnigan's pub," Replacing the phone to its cradle, Tommy opened the booth door and walked out. Time to go back home.
