Hi, my name is Kuku and this is my first character. I found this site through an ad on a site I visited but didn’t join and thus can’t remember what it was called… . Something you should know about me is that I write everything I do while listening to music and have character playlists.

PERSONALITY
General personality:
Vivian knows that she is a beautiful girl, and a smart one, in some respects, at that. What started out as confidence and satisfaction in this ballooned itself into narcissism. She thinks very highly of herself and works hard to preserve the image she wants portrayed of herself. She was raised to be intelligent and poised. She loves the feeling of being loved, and lets this feed into her ego. While she doesn’t say it, it is very clear that Vivian thinks she deserves what she has, though she has done nothing to earn it. Still, she knows how to ensure she doesn’t lose it and for her, that is work enough.Everything she puts into her life goes into feeding the image of herself she wants to be portrayed. Each element, whether she would have it that way or not by her own choice, is carefully contrived to this.
Infatuation is something she is terribly prone to, though with many things there is a shelf life to this. She can set her sights on something and fight tooth and nail for it for a time, but will either get sick of it, or achieve her goal and almost immediately move on to something else. The one thing that prevails is her love for “Heathcliff”. She tends to go beyond love, and change or identify herself through and for him. Though she can form lasting relationships, her heart is never in them in the same way it is with “Heathcliff”. She knows her affections for others will change over time. Still, her pride will prevent her from fully accepting this, and fights with him like no other. In many ways she is an addict to him, and imposes misery on them both by picking fights and keeping herself from him. Passion and whims rule Vivian. She hardly takes consequences into account. They exist for her, but she has a way of absorbing them either as attention, or with tantrums that have gotten her her way in the past. She wears her heart on her sleeve and fully embraces each and every emotion that makes it’s way into her. Vivian will try just about anything, and is quite fearless when it comes to her trysts. Yet there are several things that simply terrify her. Loss of control is one. She must always be in control of herself, and at least have a heavy influence on those she interacts with. She was raised to have her every wish met, and when confronted with the reality of the world she fought back. Even when she would be perpetuating her own unhappiness it is more important for her to know that she is doing so on her own terms. Not that she minds having something to complain about. In some ways she has become addicted to the misery that she imposes upon herself by her ambitions.
Though she often appears shallow and vapid, Vivian knows exactly what she is. There are times when she truly does wish to be something more, but never has the resolve to change her-self. Yet, for all her flaws, she can see others as clearly as she sees herself. She loves with all her heart, and though she has a funny way of showing it in many ways. The civilized, proper, upper-class world is important to her. While she has all of her adventures and indiscretions she maintains her dignity and propriety. Vivian has a way of spinning things that get out of hand, or hiding them. It is often as she exists in two worlds. In one she is reckless and childish and in another dignified and proper. Even at her worst she always remembers her position in society. It means the world to her. When she has to she will rein herself in to a witty and charming socialite. She can never forget that the perks of her world are because of this side of herself and where she comes from. Family aside, she has social ambition of her own. There is no limit to the prestige she would like to have.
Often she will be conflicted within herself. Her two sides are quite the opposite and while she is more at home in her wild side, she can’t let go of the rest of it. She wants to make no sacrifices. She wants everything and though she pays a price, she realizes that it is a fair one. If only she acted like it was.

Image:
Vivian is known from a distance to be charming and witty, if not a bit pretentious and stuck up. Those who know her better know that she can be just that, but also self-absorbed, and a perfect nightmare.
History:
Vivian was raised as Catherine Earnshaw, the dutiful daughter of a big business man and his trophy wife. She was raised more by nannies than her actual parents, though they always saw to it that she was kept happy and spoiled. As she grew up she attended prestigious private schools and was always top of her class. She knew she had to prove that she truly was superior to her classmates in every way. Gifted was always the word used to describe her, and with a bat of her eyes and a soft smile she would play the part of sweet schoolgirl well. She made several close friends, but hardly was popular even though she did have social dominance throughout her high school years.
It was in her junior high years that she first met “Heathcliff”. He was one of few people to call her out on her bitchy manner, and they developed a complicated relationship. They became friends, but fought each other constantly, and soon realized they were hopelessly in love with each other. However Vivian refused to accept this as he wasn’t the perfect gentleman she needed to be with. He too had his own reasons and neither would accept the relationship, nor would they let it go. Essentially Vivian revolved herself around him for as long as she could, through high school, college and beyond. She is completely addicted to him.
Still, he was not the type of company deemed appropriate for her and though she wanted him, she also wanted to be the perfect and respectable socialite she was raised to be. Slowly, Vivian began to spiral out of control. She was introduced to the world that her money and privilege had to offer her. Parties, perks and the media became her best friends, and she used these things as a way to distract herself from “Heathcliff”. She became a celebrity for doing nothing and slowly began to introduce herself by her middle name in less official circles. The two distinct aspects of her personality were now allowed to exist somewhat separately from each other.
But she wanted to be more. Vivian’s family gave her a legacy to which she is expected to live up to. So she educated herself and began to play two roles more publicly than ever. On the one hand, she continued her wild and reckless ways. Taking many destructive relationships that were only half hearted and becoming something of a party girl. Still she maintains an elusive image, carefully crafted by political involvement and deals with the press. She likes to be known, and it’s no secret about her life style, but has always been careful to avoid anything official or reliable being reported about it. This allows her to remain, at least in part, the girl she was raised to be.
As Catherine, as she will always be to her family, she preserved the name and the image. Aligning herself with the proper charitable organizations, ideals, and carefully orchestrated public appearances, the rest of her family overlooked her party girl habits, so long as they wouldn't get in the way. So, for as long as she can manage it, Vivian can have it all.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample:
Vivian ran a hand through her long loose curls. Something was agitating her, but she couldn’t put her finger on it. One of her moods. Like she was going to crawl out of her skin. Uncorking a bottle of wine, she stretched out on a chaise lounge and tried to either figure out what it was that had her in such a state or find something else to focus on. As she watched the dark red liquid splash into a glass she knew this was only the first of several drinks she would be requiring for the night. Never one to let herself get caught too drunk in public, she refused to think that she would be alone for this. With a small laugh she set the bottle down and caught a glimpse of her own face on the cover of one of several tabloids she had at hand. She would always need to know just where she stood. There was a standing arrangement with most of the rags regarding her activities. Still, she knew how money could talk. Still, she liked to see that she wasn’t getting lost. As long as her money could keep talking, there would be no trouble in keeping herself looking favorable.
Outside the night was flawless. Stars shone brightly overhead, stretching, along with the city as far as the eye could see and that annoyed her. Scratching at an itch on her wrist she wasn’t sure was truly there, she positioned herself away from the window. She was confronted by another. While she hated the feeling of being confined, Vivian was sure she was being tortured tonight. Rather than draw the shades, Vivian stubbornly stared at the lamp on her right. Taking a sip of her wine she mused on the rest of her night. She decided she wouldn’t be returning home alone. That was what she needed, some company. Some sweet, sticky filler for what she was missing. As soon as the thought flashed through her mind, she hurled the wineglass against the wall. Glass shattered and she watched as red liquid stained it’s way down the wall and onto the hardwood floor. Swallowing hard she let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. That was off limits. Even if it was only her own mind. She was done being here.
Half an hour later she had worked her way into a formfitting dress and heels that pushed her from a modest 5’3” to a sold 5”7”. She was aiming for complete denial tonight. If looks could kill.. She would get herself noticed. It was one way of getting out of her own head. Cathy, as her family would always call her, was going to get put away into the back of a closet. Vivian would truly get to come out in full force. She didn’t really remember when, but somewhere along the way she had let her middle name take center stage. It worked better anyways…She hated the sound of her name…. it sounded old, stuffy and too familiar. She had a lot attached to it. Formalities, bills, family stuff -they always were for Catherine Earnshaw. But her antics and trysts were for Vivian. Funny how that worked…
Her mood already lifted she strutted out of the bedroom, and past the wine stain. Someone was going to have to clean that up soon. If there was permanent damage she wouldn’t have the place trashed, even by her own hand. She wasn’t going to think about that either now. Anything that wasn’t brought on by a few drinks and fuzzy night club vision simply wouldn’t do. She wanted him out of her head, and the best way to do that was to get something else in there. Still. she would make sure she was seen tonight. She would get her face on every damn paper and magazine in the morning. Nobody got to make her feel like this. Head up, shoulders back, sway in the hips…she had the walk down.
Pulling herself out of the car, she could see she had chosen the right spot. Somewhere trendy, but with enough class to keep up appearances. That was all that mattered, wasn’t it? Look one way, and they believe you. With that thought in her mind she smiled sweetly for the cameras and ducked inside. Now to find the right kind of company...
