( THE RULES)
By joining this site, you agree to the following rules. If there are any changes in the rules you will be notified through the site updates (which, by the way, you should check often!). Just read and follow these rules to have the best experience here at Rewritten City!
Note that as an RP site, the Staff and Members of RC:
( THE BASICS)
- Respect the admins, staff, and fellow members
[/li][li]We are a site that aims for the surreal experience. That means we're not completely fantasy (meaning no vampires, mind control, zombies) but we aren't completely real life (we do accept things that people in RL do actually believe exist, like ghosts, visions, witchcraft - but if it does exist it is often rare and hidden from public knowledge.
Reactions to things like this should be as realistic as possible. Someone talking about seeing the future shouldn't be taken as if its a normal every day thing. React to it just as your character would in RL) If you have questions just ask.
[/li][li]Keep things tasteful. For sexy scenes, nothing X-rated. When you see that the RP is starting to hit second base, fade to black.
[/li][li]Stay active. Inactive players who want to keep their characters must respond to monthly activity checks.
Inactivity means that, without notification (such as posting in the Absence board, for example), you have not posted in a month.
Every last week (or so) of the month, we will post a list of inactive characters. To be removed from this list, players must start posting in a thread (or otherwise, give us a proper away message, or post stating you have plans for the character) by the end of the week. Any inactive character who isn't spoken for will be archived after the week is up. We'll send email updates when activity checks happen.
So remember, if you're busy, generally museless, or will be absent a while, just let us know in the away board.
[/li][li] You are only allowed 3 characters per Rper. You must have 50 posts for a second character and 25 posts (as your second character) to apply for a third. . A good amount of these posts (half or close to it) should be IC.
[/li][/ul]
( READY? SET? ROLE-PLAY!)
You can also read the admins applications as examples for what we're looking for. If someone else wants your character, and your application is still WIP, you will have a week to finish.
DO NOT post anywhere on the board until your application is accepted.
[li] For right now, we won't be accepting any more requests for new canons,as our Canon List is huge! But if you still have a question about what is and isn't allowed, don't hesitate to PM an admin.
[/li][li]Keep in mind that this site focuses an old classics (old= before1970) being recreated into something new.
[/li][li]No Mary Sues/John Smiths, of course. [/li][/ul]

( KEEPING IN CHARACTER)
- This is an intermediate site, so we require at least 2 paragraphs per post (6 sentences=a paragraph).
Note: Shorter posts for "communication" threads (email, phone, etc) are allowed. Just don't make communication threads the only thing you RP.
[/li][li] Post should be readable have decent grammar, and be in 3rd person, past tense.
If you feel that your creative intuition is telling you that it is absolutely necessary for you to write differently than this, PM the staff and we might make an exception.
[/li][li]Thread starters must determine if they want the thread to be fast paced or casual, and state which in the title. As a general guideline, fast paced means that repliers are expected to reply at least once every 2-3 days or so. Casual means that repliers are expected to reply at least once a week or a week and a half.
Sample new thread title (where I want to RP with Romeo & Juliet in particular, as well as anyone else):
Love and Hate(Romeo/Juliet/open) (casual)
[/li][li]Godmodding of characters played by an RPer (without permission) is not allowed. You can, however, godmod randomers (strangers, extras, people that you make up for a post). But please change the color of the text where you godmod when you do so.[/li][/ul]
( AND NOW THE EXTRAS)
- It is possible to kill off your character. All death plots , however, MUST be approved by staff. All original characters can die, however only SOME canon characters will be allowed to do this, specifically minor canon characters.
- If you decide you want to drop a character, make sure all of your major plots are completed before dropping. This means you must choose the character that you want to play wisely.
- Signatures should be NO WIDER than 520px. Only one signature per person please. Thanks! (We have award signatures every month).
- Please do not put a link in the "website" portion of your profile. Here, admins will put the link to your character application for easy reference. Your avatar will link your application through the website box.
( THANKS)
Thank you for viewing Rewritten City! We
are really happy you were interested and hope
you will join! This template for the
rules was made by someone else (as cited below).
This is the same with a lot of things on this site. Thanks
to all of those who helped make this site possible! Credits
Sincerely,
Your admins.

Warning System
Hopefully we won't have to use this on anyone
1. First offense. Warning from staff via post or PM. No penalty.
2. Second offense. 40 % warning.
3. Third offense. 70% warning.
4. Forth offense. 100% warning + temporary ban or permanent ban.
This is the standard scale, but it may vary providing the severity of the offense. If it's fairly minor, a warning system might not be implemented, or implemented on smaller intervals. However, if the offense affects the conductivity of the board or the contentment of its members, warnings may be increased.
All warnings will be supplemented with a PM by staff explaining the offense and reason for punishment. No discussion about the staff's decisions regarding punishment are permitted on the board itself.
