Official Plotting With Harry Chandler Thread

HARRY "HAMLET" CHANDLER

If you want to RP with Harry, here's what you need to know. He is 29-year old businessman, who runs a financial firm under Hamlet Enterprises, a multi-million dollar corporation. This corporation was built from the ground up by his late father, Hamlet Sr., and was quickly taken over by his greedy uncle Claudius. Harry has reason to believe his uncle killed his father for the company.

And this...has left Harry a very snarky and sarcastic fellow. He's got a lot going on in his head, he over-thinks things, he's paranoid. He's a borderline alcoholic and even when he's not drunk, he sometimes pretends to be drunk...or a little off centered (crazy)...to make sure people won't suspect him if and when he carries out any complex plan that might get him in trouble.

Friends. Even though Harry can be somewhat detached, there is potential for friendship. His friends would probably be able to relate to him on some level, be it through grief or general experience. Business associates, etc. They would have to get pass his sarcasm and the craziness though, but once they see through that they'll know he's really just a pretty decent guy who's trying to make sense of things.

Lovers. Unfortunately, Harry is taken by a woman named Ophelia. He is completely and utterly obsessed with her. That doesn't mean a character can't try to get through to him. Later in his plot, there might be opportunities available

For some reason, Harry has a thing for making enemies. If you mess with someone he cares about, you're automatically an enemy. He tends to be very suspicious and untrustworthy (generally paranoid) of people, so that creates a lot of tension.

Iago & "Hamlet"--I don't have any specifics in mind for these two, but I think it goes without saying that characters based on Iago and Hamlet need to meet each other at some point. I don't think Harry would have anything that Iago would want, so I think, if anything, Iago would want to use him for some greater purpose...I'll let you know if I ever come up with any specifics!

Edit - ok im all freed up to RP with you Iago!

Harry is in the midst of a revenge plot of his own against Claudius, i could see them getting to know each other perhaps and Harry wanting to learn a few things from him and Iago maybe wanting to use Harry for his own gains (not sure what?) Though considering Harry's trust issues, atm, that will prove to be some drama-filled relations. Thoughts?
