It seems lately that my panic attacks have grown increasingly. Today's was do to my grades. I haven't been doing as well as I have in the past with school and everything at home. My after reactions's haven't been to great either. I'm shaky and tense after them for longer periods of time then before. So I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas on ways to calm down after these. Any ideas are good one.
Thank you,
Bri

As someone who has suffered my fair share of panic attacks and anxiety attacks, I've learned a thing or two that help me calm down. After I have an attack, or even while I'm having it, I force logic on the situation. I make myself reason with it. Just recently I had a total meltdown over my math class and I coached myself through it. After the fact, I made myself walk. Now, I know that you may not be able to at school so the next best thing is grabbing a pen and a few sheets of paper. Pen to the paper, just write or draw or scribble or whatever. I do loops. And when I fill a page, I do the back, then start another paper. This is a good way of just releasing tension in a quiet way. It's a good way of seeing the frustration too, visualizing it and realizing that it isn't anything you can't handle. Then, crumple up the paper and toss it.
I'll edit this if I think of any more anxiety relieving ideas.
