Amusicably So, Sir.

[OSRIC YOUNG]

Right-o! So, I've apped for a new character, and unlike when I apped Ling Ling and had no idea what to do with her, I've already got a pretty fucking good idea what I want to do with Osric, so I'll be writing for him more often than I have for poor Ling Ling (I'll be re-doing her character a good bit this summer).

Since I obviously can't ask you guys to be arsed to read Osric's rather extensive app, here's the rundown of his character:

• He's ever-optimistic and freaking annoying.
  
• He has no concept of personal space and enjoys talking. A lot. And makes up words sometimes.
  
• He stalks Claudius Chandler and is trying to write his biography.
  
• He'll be your friend... even if you don't want to be his.
  
• He's stupidly naive for a guy who's had his life basically ruined.
  
• He's an amazing musician. It's his true passion. His band was signed but shit happened that made it go flop... but he still loves playing/signing.
  
• He works at a music store, moves boxes for people as a side job, and sometimes he's a session musician or plays open mic nights at bars. So there's lots of places he could be/things he could be doing.
  

Basically he's a fun-loving kid who doesn't really have the ability to stay sad for more than a few minutes. He has the potential to show up pretty much anywhere. I'd really love to get some threads going for him, especially with my summer vacation starting tomorrow! <3

Cool! Well, Victoria's still in school, isn't she? Osric has friends at uni, and so maybe he runs into her while checking out the biochem labs or something out of curiosity and meets here there. He'd probably ask her a shit ton of intelligent but annoying and extensive questions.

Aww, thanks Kay, thanks so nice if you to say^^. As for your characters...

James - I feel like Osric would really just piss him off indefinitely. So, I haven't really any good ideas for the two of them.

Jane - Hm... maybe, they could already know each other? Osric's like four years older than Jane, but maybe once he took one of her art classes just for fun (he likes to try everything) and they became friends then? That way, they could just be going out for a day of fun together, at the carnival or something. Or they could meet at a carnival or party or something and Osric declares her his bff for the day. He'd do that.

Hector - Well, Osric loves reading, and so if Hector still owns his bookshop even though he's mayor now,  maybe he knows Osric from frequenting there? Osric's goes though bouts of having money and not having money, so maybe Hector appreciates Osric's knowledge of a lot of literature but sort of hates him because sometimes he reads whole books in the shop without actually buying anything.

Guy - Osric's the kind of guy who really likes fashion and stuff so if he saw Guy walking around town or whatever he might recognise him from the catalogues Guy models for. And since he's crazy Osric would probably flat out introduce himself and try to talk to Guy about fashion and maybe ask for an autograph.

I'd be happy to do any one (or, more than one) of these ideas, variations on them, ideas you have, etc. The only one of your characters I can't think of anything for is Jimmy. Sorry Jim.

Peter - They could meet at Peter's bar, Osric might be playing session musician there; he'd think Peter was pretty cool and talk the poor guy's head off. As, as it turns out, Peter and Osric are almost the same age. I couldn't find anywhere that said where Peter went to uni, but if he went to NYU Osric would probably recognise him from seeing him in basketball games and Peter would know of him from just the general gossip on the campus that some kid had made it/blew it.

Zander - I was thinking maybe Osric had dated one of his sisters or something in the past? I don't know, they're a good bit older than him, considering they're around thirty, but it might work. I can't really think of a good reason why the two might meet, besides a random cafe-run-ins.

I like the Peter/Osric idea! It sounds pretty plausible, and yes - he went to NYU!

We shall have to pm and plot!

[JANE EYRE]

I can see Guy and Jane getting along just fine with Osric, Hector's a different story. Hector's twice as prickly around people than James is, even with a common interest. I like the idea of Osric being a former student and Osric spotting Guy and recognizing him would throw him for a loop so both would be good for me!
