"That's a wonderful idea. I can't think of a better way to spend my time off.”
Siobhan really hoped he meant it. She could think of millions of more exciting things to do, much more interesting ways to spend a vacation. She was the kind of person who loved boring vacations where she could do what she pleased, when she pleased.
"I'll try for next week."
Next week? Oh, that was quick. She’d expected him to put it off for weeks until it became something that he said and never did. Next week was definite. Definite was...wonderful.
“Next week is doable,” she replied with a smile, taking a sip from her coffee cup.
She’d have to make sure she had a week’s worth of sets pre-taped or had someone covering her show – something the other DJ’s didn’t like at all. Then she’d have to make sure that both Jamie’s board members and the homeless shelter were squared away. Sadly, it’d only take a day or two to do and she could disappear off the face of the planet with Hector for a week and no one would miss her. It was far too easy, and yet, she hadn’t had the inclination to actually just take a vacation.
“The only thing I’ll need to do is go shopping, so if you have any requests, I’ll make a list.”
And if not, she’d spend an hour wandering around the grocery store, looking for things she liked and Hector might enjoy. Then they could just have a relaxing week together doing whatever they wanted, and when it was over, she’d send him home with the first installment of what Jamie owed him. Then maybe he’d have one less thing to worry over.
“Or we can do a lot of take out. As long as you get the chance to relax,” she pointed out.
After all, that was the whole point – give Hector a chance to relax and rest.
