Perry couldn't complain anymore about the mascara once Jane began painting his lips. If he spoke, he'd ruin the paint which meant he would have to go through the process again. So he just sat there, looking very grumpy at the situation. He didn't want to wear mascara. He really didn't want to wear mascara.
Jane took her time painting his mouth. It felt weird, really, having a brush swipe over his mouth. He tried to keep still, twitching only once or twice when the brush tickled. It didn't take too much time, which Perry was very thankful of.
She put away the brush and grabbed the mascara. Oh no, if anyone was going to put mascara on Perry, it was going to be Perry. He stuck his hand out, making a grabby motion for the mascara. Since the paint was still wet, he couldn't talk. When he realized the grabby motion wasn't getting it through to her, he rolls his eyes and sat back, electing to use sign language. Perry signed, slowly, "I can do it," and stuck his hand back out for the mascara.

Jane was preparing the mascara when Perry began signing. She had no idea what he was saying but she figured out by the outstretched hand that he wanted to handle the mascara on his own. "Knock yourself out." Jane handed him the tube and got up, starting to arrange the classroom for the day.
They had to hurry up, class started soon. Letting Perry do his own thing, Jane drug easels around the classroom, arranging them in a circle around the little platform that Perry would pose on. She rambled through what to expect and how she may poke him with a yard stick to point things out but she wouldn't hurt him and she wouldn't let the students touch him but she couldn't promise anything about catcalls and whistles. Jane shrugged and once everything was in place she moved to Perry again and started adding the finishing touches to the paint job on his front. She would get his back once he was standing and ready to go.
"Are you feeling good? Class starts soon."

Jane gave Perry the mascara when he had his hand out, so he opened it and took care in making sure there wasn't any big clumps on the brush. Big clumps would make the mascara cake on his eyelashes and it would just look bad. He waited until she was finished with his lips before standing and finding a mirror close by. Growing up, his sister Catherine had used him as a make-up doll, so he knew a thing or two about makeup. Perry took his time putting on the mascara, making sure he got the tops and bottoms of his lashes, and making sure it was even. Once he figured it was as good as it was going to get, he screwed the top back on and handed it to Jane.
Jane had gone over what was to be expected during the class, like the poking with a yard stick and the possibility of catcalls. Perry expected most of that. It wasn't that difficult to do; all he had to do was a few poses, then he just had to sit and get comfortable for an hour. Simple stuff.
"Are you feeling good? Class starts soon."
Perry shrugged and looked down at himself. "I don't think feelin' "good" is the word, but I'm feelin' somethin'." He hummed. "Feelin' a little bit like a statue, but I'm alright. Ready to go."

Taking the mascara, Jane tucked it away again and grabbed a larger paintbrush and began to run it through the paint. "Time to get your back. You won't be able to sit down for a bit but that's okay since you're going to start with standing up poses and such." Jane motioned with her hand for him to come over to her so she wouldn't string paint all over her nice, clean classroom.
The nice thing about painting backs is that it was a lot of area to cover that didn't need to be heavily attended to like arms or even the front of someone. Jane figured that was because the back didn't really bend, it stretched.
Jane stood behind Perry and admired his back tattoo for a moment before starting to paint over it. "Your tattoos are beautiful. If I wasn't such a scaredy cat, I'd get one." Jane didn't know if her pain threshold would stand up to the process and she didn't know if she wanted to try it out. "But I can just look at yours. They're so well done." It was a shame, really, to see the amazing lighthouse tattoo get covered with grey paint with every swipe of her paint brush. She knew that she'd see it again though, the next time she had lunch on his boat.

When she gestured, he walked over to her carefully, making sure not to drag his feet. Walking anyways would mess up the paint a little, but he'd at least try not to let it get too faded by the time he had to get down to modeling. He stood still as she ran the brush over his back, only tensing once when she got close to the surgery scars near the base of his spine. On certain days, the screws tended to make him a little sore and jittery.
"Your tattoos are beautiful. If I wasn't such a scaredy cat, I'd get one."
Perry hummed a little bit. "How do you handle shots? Tattooin' in just a small needle barely gettin' you under the skin." He wasn't too much a fan of getting shots at the doctor's, but he could handle tattoos just fine.
"But I can just look at yours. They're so well done."
"You must have bad eyes. The bulldog isn't much account and the linin' on the lighthouse blew out." Maybe it was because he had seen so many pictures of himself shirtless, but he tended to notice all the little problems he found with his tattoos. "Well you can look at them all you want. I'll end up bein' shirtless around you sooner rather than later."

"I don't do well getting shots. I've got skinny arms so they're always missing and pricking me all over." As if to prove her point, Jane pressed her arm against Perry's. His was practically double the size, both lengthwise and around. Jane shrugged and dipped her brush in the paint again. "If I'm ever able to put on weight so I don't look like an eight year old boy, maybe. It's not like I have anything worth decorating right now." Jane began to paint his back again, covering up the edges of the lighthouse, carefully painting over the scars on his lower back since she knew they pained him sometimes.
Jane listened to him talk about how his tattoos weren't that great, that the quality was poor, but Jane didn't see it. She thought they looked wonderful; perfect and clean tattoos wouldn't suit Perry at all. He was rough and a bit like wobbly lines in a sketch: full of character and still very important.
"Well you can look at them all you want. I'll end up bein' shirtless around you sooner rather than later."
"Let's be honest Perry, I have to ask you repeatedly to put clothes on. You're shirtless nearly all the time."
