She stepped back and relaxed her grip on his hand. " Oh you know me I would only poke you when you least expect it I can even cook for you" she said in a comforting manner. "When you need me the most " she whispered the last part and started to think and imagine how their life would be if the two of them ever got to live in one room, in one house, in one kitchen. But she was distracting herself and she was getting emotional. But yet children hers and his well they would be beautiful . She would be a horrible mother, and she would be emotionally unstable at the children.
A day dream that was what this was , and nothing more was to be done about it. She licked her finger of some blood and stared at Sherlock. " To us" she said as she held out another shot, she was far from over in having a good time , even if it lead to nothing. Yes she was a woman , a woman who would give her right arm for the man who was in front of her. " Now if you came to my apartment I would never let you go either" she grinned and pouted her lips as she could feel a little the effect of the alcohol but not enough to leave her in dream state.

Sherlock was aware of the moment that Irene began to wonder on the possibility of a life with him. He shifted rather uncomfortably in his seat, eyes fixed on her expression in order to glean her reaction to whatever was running about in that odd little head of hers. Emotions were messy things, and he knew for a fact that whatever feelings the woman was forming were dangerous ones. The man had been told long ago that caring is not an advantage, and the years of his youth had provided him with enough evidence to declare the statement a truth. Any sort of passion was tricky, and Sherlock was aware that acting on such would undoubtedly be the end to him.
The consulting detective kept quiet, raising his own shot glass as a response to the toast before downing it with a slight wince. He wasn't yet entirely sure whether it was clever of him to allow Irene to get him drunk - but he was confident in his ability to take his alcohol rather well, so it was no matter. "And you wonder why I never visit you," Sherlock smirked, replying to her confession that she would not let him leave if he were to enter her apartment. He looked down at the table, knowing that he would need to address the fact that he knew she wanted him, and though she was an interesting match intellectually, he did not return the sentiment. The problem was that he had no idea how to do it without her flying into one of her notorious rages. It wouldn't do to have the woman injure herself again. "Irene," he began, staying completely still - as though the lack of movement could in some way help to calm her should she be unhappy, "You do need to know that I agreed to meet you here because I need you to understand that there won't ever be anything between us. Only it currently seems as though you think there is, but - well, you're wrong." It seemed he was still bollocks at subtlety.

Irene stared at the man, she was a bit dissapointed by his answer but she could not do anything about it . It really all depended on him and him alone , she bit down on her lips as she nibbled them, and started to stare at her wounds. She was not going to make a scandal, rather she wanted to just stay calm in the matter and collected. She giggled a little before she served herself another shot glass and started to bit down on her own lip.
She stared at sherlock as she started to serve him another shot and then one at herself. " If I recall it was I who left you" she said as she started to chew down the bread sticks that were served before her. Like a savage she wanted a tasty hunk of meat and yet at the same time she knew there was an ideal purpose.

Sherlock regarded the woman with a raised eyebrow, ignoring the shot she had poured for him. If she wanted to drink herself into a stupor at such an early time in the day, then so be it - but he was not going to join her. After all, he was fairly certain that she was most likely aiming to get him out of his state of mind, and by drinking everything she offered him it was likely that the situation would result in what she aimed for. And honestly, he never really trusted her not to drug him.
Her words, however, made a lopsided smirk appear on his face. "And if I recall, dear Irene, it was only you who believed that we were in a relationship to begin with. Technically, you didn't leave me at all, as there was nothing to leave." Sherlock sat back in his chair a little. It had always been clear that she had wanted to pursue some sort of relationship - though he had always believed that it had consisted of nothing but a match of intelligence. Yes, he was rather captivated by her brains - but for Sherlock, it had never been and would never be anything more than that.
