Hi, my name is Matt and this is my First character. I found this site through the IMDb Message Board. Something you should know about me is I am a huge RENT fan and love RENT themes RPGs, have not done one in a while but am very excited to get to it again.

Appearance: Angel stick's out where ever she goes, but she loves it. She has beautiful caramel colored skin, great cheek bones, and the legs of a god. She always stands tall and proud, and always likes to look her best. When she is in a room, she shines. Angel likes to perform and you can see it in whatever she does, whether it is how she dresses, or how she beats to her own drum. She walks with elegance and always has her chin up. She can always be seen in high heels and clothes that jump out at you, but that is what makes her so unique.

PERSONALITY
General personality: Angel is always happy, or at least trying her best to be. Even when she gets the worst news, she tries her best to keep a smile on her face. She believes that to not be happy is to be waste your time. She likes to be loud and is not afraid of what others think, it is none of their business in the first place. She is the type who will dance in the middle of the street, and will sing the loudest over everyone. She is comfortable with who she is, and knows that who she is is okay.
Angel is not one to think much of the future. She believes "No day but today." If she could, she would love to make money to share with her friends and to give to charities. She would like to inspire other GLBT children and start an organization helping them. She loves music and would love to write some professionally someday.
To Angel, the good people in her life come first. She is the type who will always ask, "You okay honey?" before asking herself that. She is all about helping people and comforting them. She loves love. She loves being in relationships and having someone to care for and make feel special. If she woke up one day and had no one there, she would not know how to live anymore. Her life is her friends.
She is extremely original. Loves to design her own clothes, and be unlike anyone else. She inspires herself and loves to inspire others. She would never want to be anyone else because she is happy with who she is.

Worst past experience: When Angel was 14 he was raped by his uncle on Thanksgiving. His uncle was never found guilty and this led to him being kicked out of his house. Coming out when he was 13, and then accusing his uncle of raping him was too much for his mother to handle, so she through out all of his stuff and locked him out.
Best past experience: Meeting Mimi Marquez. Coming to NYC when he was 20, he was completely lost. Then he met Mimi and he felt as though he finally met someone who accepted him for being him. Also, Mimi gave her some of her first drag outfits.

History: Angel, born Angel Ramirez, was brought up in a poor city around Los Angeles. He grew up with his mom and 4 older brothers. He was very close to his mom growing up and hated not being by her side all the time. Because she was single mom supporting her five children, she worked 3 jobs and was always tired. His father was in jail for murdering his brother, that happened long before Angel was born though so he never really knew him.
Angel was a GREAT student. He loved going to school and had many friends at the local public school he attended. He never really got along with the boys but was very close to the girls. His brothers rarely talked to him because they were so much older than him. Many of them were in gangs and were rarely around the house. He grew up tending to himself most of the time but when he got chances to talk to his mother and spend time with her, he cherished them.
He came out to his mother when he was 13 and she cried, for weeks. He never told his brothers because he thought they would kill him. His mother rarely talked to him after he told her. One Thanksgiving holiday his Uncle Jose took him into his grandmothers basement and raped him. He did not know what was going on and tragically enjoyed it, until his uncle hit him and called him a "Faggot" afterwards. This led him to telling his mother what he had done and she did not react to well. When he was at school one Wednesday, she threw away his clothes got rid of his bed and locked him out. After ringing the doorbell repeatedly and sitting outside for hours he assumed they all moved away and left himself.
He had always wanted to see the "New York Lights" so he got on a bus and headed to New York City. After living in many different cities for years, all over the US, he made it to New York. He made money that entire time through stealing and prostitution. He decided to stop prostituting after he was diagnosed with HIV, which soon became AIDS. He know has a small apartment and performs on the streets of NYC for a job. He tries his best by ignoring his past, which is why he changed his name and his appearance, and he loves who he is now.

In Character Sample: Angel woke up to the a drip of water hitting his face. Drip. Drip Drip. After the dirty water hit his mouth, he opened his eyes and looked around. This was not his room. He touched his head and realized his wig was not on, yet he was wearing his neon pink shirt with the writing "Home-Girl" across it and his bright baby blue skirt. He felt his eye throbbing and stood up. There was no one around.
He made his way to what looked like the bathroom. Looking on the ground he saw a family of cockroaches feasting on what looked like dog poop. He looked in the mirror and saw his black and purple eye. What did you get yourself into chica! He thought. He reached into his pocket and his wallet was gone. He wanted to cry, but he had forgotten how for some reason. It was as though he couldn't. He grabbed his lather jacked off the living room chair and got out of the apartment as fast as he could. He turned onto the street and just continued walking, telling himself that just never happened.
As she continued down the block, she saw a group of hoodlums walking towards her. She bit her lip and lifted her shoulders. She strutted past them and one of them pushed her. It is hard not to ignore a man walking by with a tight shirt and a skirt on. She took of her heels and turned around. She knew she was fast and knew this could work. "Hey baby! Is that how you are gonna treat a lady?" He laughed and walked up to her, mouthing something to his friends. "Come here..." He approached her and she slapped him across the face. Angel took off faster than a Subway train, they could not catch up to her. She began to laugh after she realized they fell too far behind.
Tell us WHY your original character would fit with the theme of this board: I believe that Angel would be a great fit with this board because she is the character everyone loves. She can get along with everybody and what would New York City be without a great drag queen. She could strike conversation and be involved with all of the characters, and could even cause some drama.
Angel is the type of character that loves to love. Whether it is her friends or a significant other. She will find something to love in all of these characters and create something with it. Angel has so much to offer for a story, and so much to bring to the table. Whether it is sadness or happiness, Angel has it. And that is why Angel is needed for this board.
