Hi, my name is Sarah and this is my second character. I found this site through Proboards Support. Something you should know about me is that I also play Éponine Thénardier and I’m a crazy hockey Fan (right, Romeo and Mimi?).
Canon: Edgar Allan Poe’s “Berenice”
Custom Title: Her Lips Are Sealed

Gender: Female

Play By: Alexz Johnson
PERSONALITY
General personality: Bunny is a generally sweet and pleasant individual, but she is very quiet. She doesn’t usually speak unless spoken to, but this doesn’t make her miserable company. She still generally behaves like she’s interested in what’s going on around her; she is not a wallflower who will do anything to stay out of sight. When she does speak, however, it is in a very quiet voice and without moving her lips as much as possible. She does not like eating in front of people, either, though she will if she absolutely has to. She has been trying not to let her insecurities keep her from living a normal life, but it’s been very difficult.
She is very intelligent and creative, and she applies this toward her career at an advertising firm. She’s kind and she’s compassionate toward all things. She loved animals, and the phrase “never hurt a fly” could quite easily be literal when applied to Bunny. In fact, she’s a member of PETA and a vegetarian. She does not let her sometimes debilitating disease ruin her life or keep her from being happy. Unfortunately, Bunny is manic-depressive, through no fault of her own. She will go through very high highs and very low lows. Sometimes it is difficult to tell what phase she is in. She takes pills to help control it, some. She also has awful nightmares sometimes about her past. This contributes to periodic insomnia. In summary, although no one would ever guess it from looking at Bunny on the outside, she is a plagued individual with a lot of internal stress.

James Krna (brother-in-law – 31) and Roy Breton (brother-in-law, 30). Michele Krna (niece, 4) Mason Krna (nephew, 4) and Derrick Breton (nephew, 13 months).
Education: Public education, K-12
Occupation: Works at an advertising firm as an artist.
Worst past experience: Being declared dead after a particularly bad seizure and then having every one of her teeth removed and stolen by her fiancé while she was in the morgue.
Best past experience: Getting her job at the company and feeling like she was finally getting control over her life.
Image: Bunny is seen as a kind and sweet individual who would never hurt anyone if she could help it. This is pretty much the truth, even though they don’t know about anything, really.
History: Berenice “Bunny” Violet Jacobs was born in the Women and Children’s hospital in Richmond, Virginia. It seemed when she was born that she was perfectly healthy, but when she was three years old she had her first seizure. It was discovered that Bunny (as she was called for her pearly white teeth) had a particularly violent form of epilepsy. As a result, Bunny had a very carefully supervised childhood that included numerous visits to the doctor, many different treatments (some of which worked and some which did not), and the almost constant use of a pink helmet to keep Bunny from severely damaging her head.
Her parents and siblings and nurses did a very good job of keeping an eye on her and protecting her without keeping her too sheltered, but sometimes accidents happened. Sometimes when she had seizures, she fell roughly or against something hard and broke a couple of bones. The seizures in themselves often had negative effects upon her body, which is why one shoulder is slightly higher than the other and her right eye is larger than her left eye.
Aside from the epilepsy, however, Bunny could honestly say she had a happy and normal childhood. Her family was upper middle class and very comfortable financially. She was best friends with her third cousin once removed, “Egeus”, and they spent a lot of time together. He was always frightened by her seizures, but she did her best to reassure him and told them that they didn’t hurt – even though they did, a lot. He was a monomaniac, which he considered a disease but she thought endearing. She loved her siblings and they had a normal relationship. By the time she hit puberty, her epilepsy was under control enough that she didn’t have to wear a helmet anymore. High school was great for her, and she was a member of many clubs and developed her art and writing skills. This was also the time when she decided to become a vegetarian.
After high school, “Egeus” went to a university nearby, but Bunny decided to go to an art school in the area. They missed each other terribly, and after a while they came to the conclusion that they were in love. He proposed marriage in the year that she was 23 and he was 25. Everything was going nicely as planned and Bunny intended on being very happy with him. Unfortunately, she did not know that “Egeus” had developed a mania with her teeth. She also didn’t know that the treatment she had been on for her epilepsy since she was thirteen was losing effect. She began to have seizures again.
One night after she’d gone to sleep three months before she was due to be married, she had the worst seizure she’d ever had in her life. It was so bad that it lasted a long time, and once she got to the hospital and it stopped, she was pronounced dead. She was placed in the morgue. She remembers nothing from that night except for waking up and feeling like her face was on fire. She touched her mouth and saw the blood, feeling no teeth, and then she promptly passed out again. She was discovered that way a few minutes later, and she was rushed in for surgeries to fix her face. The surgeries fixed most of the scars that were left there, and now they are only noticeable if she gets tanned or sunburned.
It was discovered not long after the incident that the criminal who had stolen her teeth was her very own “Egeus.” His obsession with her teeth had driven him to a maddened frenzy during which he had assaulted her body and taken each and every one of them. The recovery was long and hard; Bunny’s mouth was heavily scarred inside and it took her a while to learn to talk again. She was fitted with a pair of dentures, but she hates the feel of them and dreads anyone ever finding out that she has dentures at the ripe age of 27. Once she could talk normally, she decided to learn to talk without moving her lips as much as possible. She can actually get away with ventriloquism sometimes, but she’s not great.
This tragic incident left Bunny not only with physical scars but mental ones as well. She developed an awful fear of dentists and visits them only out of intense need. Her shyness, which she has had all her life, has increased to the point where she is so self-conscious about her mouth that she hates eating or speaking much in front of people. She also is sometimes plagued with nightmares, in which she is positioned above the scene while “Egeus” ravaged her body and stole her teeth (he has been imprisoned for assault and battery, but it was a long court process because Bunny had been technically dead at the time). She is also manic-depressive, a situation that she also has to take drugs for. The only positive thing that may have come out of the situation is that Bunny’s epilepsy has nearly disappeared altogether. She has had only a handful of seizures since then, and it has been three years.
Bunny now lives in New York City, where she moved to escape the memories of her ex-fiancé and make a life for herself with her art skills. She tries to forget what happened, even though she knows it will be impossible. She’s still in touch with her family back in Virginia and her sister Justine and her family, who now live in New Jersey. She loves to visit Justine, her husband, and their baby son Derrick. Bunny enjoys her life now, though she is still struggling to cope with the scars of the past and secretly dreads ever coming face to face with “Egeus” again.

THE SAMPLE

Berenice Violet Jacobs woke up in the morning feeling exhausted. This was no surprise, because she had been haunted the night before with nightmares of Egeus. She’d been startled awake by the gruesome images her creative mind had conjured during the night several times. Each time, she’d had frozen goosebumps traveling up her arms. She thought that she might need to change sleep medications, because the one she was currently on did not help her nightmares. In fact, it seemed to make them worse.
Bunny was happy to wake up and see the sun shining through her thin curtains. She got out of bed and proceeded to go through her morning routine, which included putting on her dentures, making her bed, and straightening up. Once she brushed her blonde hair and put on her makeup, she went down the hall of her two bedroom apartment to the kitchen, where she made herself a breakfast of hard boiled eggs and strawberries. Bunny was a vegetarian and had been for almost eight years. It had had nothing to do with losing her teeth, but that had certainly helped her keep it up. It wasn’t as easy eating meat with dentures.
Before leaving the house, Bunny checked her teeth to be sure she didn’t have any strawberry seeds stuck in them before grabbing her portfolio, art kit, and purse to leave to go to work. On the way she stopped at her favorite coffee joint, which served coffee made from beans harvested in a way that would not harm the environment. She checked her PDA for her schedule for the week and smiled when she saw that she had a visit to her sister Justine on Saturday. She would get to see Derrick, her little 13-month-old nephew! She loved him so much. She had bought him a toy to give him for a belated birthday present. Other events on her calendar included a brunch with friends, a doctor’s appointment, and a PETA meeting. Her week was full.
She finally arrived at the office and got ready for a long day creating an advertisement for a big-shot company.
