Play By: Brittany Snow
PERSONALITY
General personality: Although Cosette comes off as a fearless and daring girl when you meet her, it is only because her past has been filled with so much misery and torture she would not be able to tolerate another second of it. Her childhood was engulfed in fear and she would not let herself fall back into it. Her courage and fearless attitude towards life is simply a facade at least to cover up what lies beneath.
And what lies beneath is a sad, scared, frightened beyond belief young girl. Cosette seldom lets her emotions be exposed. Over the years she has gathered a knack for hiding them. Whenever she would cry it would only encourage more beatings from the rotten family. Needless to say, she built a tough skin for her own good.
Cosette is without a doubt one of the nicest young women you will ever meet and would never do anything to hurt you unless you do so to her. She believes in equality no matter what age you are, your economic or social status, no matter what. It is because she has seen both sides of the world and knows not to judge a book by its cover because one day what goes around comes around. She's been to the bottom and is working her way up.

Best past experience: Jean Valjean taking her away
Image: Cosette comes off looking like a porcelain doll. Fragile and silent. At times she can be just that but she is much more than that. In recent years she has become bold and speaks her mind to the fullest. If there is something she dislikes, she will let you know. After having to deal with the silence at the Thenardier household, she believes her opinion is much overdo.
To many people, hearing her name could cause them to think many things of her. The oddness of her name would make people find her, unique to put it plainly. But to be quite frank, they would find her a freak. She may not have been the brightest crayon in the box in her childhood but she has grown into a well-mannered and highly intellectual young woman. Anyone that had met her in her destitute life could agree about her maturity.
Once you get to know her, you'll find her to be as cute as a button and as trustworthy as can be. Cosette could do no harm to no one truthfully. A few bitter words here and there and she would have her share of acting ill towards you. She would much rather cause you mental anguish than physical pain.
History: Born in beautiful Paris, the illegitimate daughter of Felix Tholomyes, her mother Fantine was left to care for her all by her lonesome. It was not as though her father did not love Euphrasie, it was more or less he did not care for Fantine and had no knowledge of Euphrasie. And so, Fantine was poor with nothing to her name and a baby on the way. She worked in a laundromat for little pay until she could no longer afford rent that the lady who had owned the place charged. They were kicked out and left to find elsewhere to call home.
It was then in desperation that Fantine realized she needed to leave her daughter in some one else's care until she could support not only herself but Cosette as well. She found the Thenardiers' and asked them to care for her, not realizing how awful Cosette's childhood would be. So from three years of age on to eight, Cosette was practically a slave to them. She worked day and night until every last task was completed without complaint. Anything they asked she did.
It was in that time where she realized the only way to survive it was to grin and bear it. And so she did.
It was on Christmas Day of her eighth year of life that Valjean had adopted her and taken her away from the dreaded family. She had never been so happy in her life. However, as Jean Valjean was about to reintroduce her to her mother, news has spread of her death from tuberculosis. Since she could not afford any treatment, there was nothing left for her to die. And so, Valjean had hid this secret from Cosette for many years until she was old enough to understand.
In recent years Cosette has had dreams of meeting her mother and holds onto them closely. Her mother was a saint as Cosette believes; sacrificing her own well being to safe her daughter time and time again.
Once Cosette had finished all basic schooling, Jean Valjean had decided to venture off to New York for a charity convention. Little did they know that walking the streets of New York were previous enemies of the two. Of course they did not think that the Thenardier's crime family would bother with them anymore but in fact they had.
The charity event took place in one of the grand hotels. Once it was over, Cosette and Valjean were in charge of clean up where Claude and his gang arrived to end the life of Jean Valjean and possibly Cosette. However, the hotel security was still wandering the corridors and caught sight of this, recruiting the NYPD. Cosette escaped with a few cuts and bruises to add to the numerous beforehand and Valjean with the same as well as a bruised ego.
The two took refuge in New York after that day, seeing as there was nothing that the family could do to harm them anymore behind bars. Still, Cosette fears for her life as well as that of her father's.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample: Cosette walked into the grocery store and headed straight towards the carts. Jean Valjean, her father, had asked her to kindly go and do some food shopping to which she agreed. How could she ever deny anything he asked of her? He was her saving grace and she loved him with all her heart. Such a simple demand as that, there was no way she would back sass him.
Sometimes she wondered how her peers nowadays could be so ill-mannered towards those who care for them. Cosette could never imagine disobeying Jean Valjean or causing any sort of miscommunication with him. It was not as though she was a goodie-two-shoes, she was just very appreciative. She could never take anything for granted.
Her life was a blessing to say the least and to be given the chance to start over, so to speak, with Jean Valjean as her father, it was a dream come true. She smiled as she grabbed a bag of potatoes to put into the cart as she remembered the day he gave her a doll just for her. That was while she was still with the Thenardiers. So many things were going through her mind, like a montage, as she walked up and down aisles grabbing various things.
