outfitMeg Giry had just gotten out of dance class and knew where she was doing to go. Quickly putting her toe shoes in her dance bag and put her pink ballet flats on her feet, still clad her black leotard and tights, she made her way to the theater. Why? Because she had heard at her dance class that there was a man there putting on a show and he needed dancers. She loved her dance classes and preparing for their Christmas production of the Nutcracker but she missed dancing in a show, especially since she had been doing that since she was young. When Miss Giry reached the theater, she was almost hesitant to open the door and she didn't know why. She'd been in this theater hundreds of times to dance, since her friends would let her in, but this time seemed...weird. She just attributed it to nerves. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door and entered the theater. It seemed like no one was there and she started to wander around, looking for any sign of someone being there. "Hello?" Meg asked, her soft voice lightly echoing through the theater as she wandered about. "Is someone here? I've heard someone is here working on a new show and I'd like to inquire about a dance position...?"((ooc: this might be lame but eh it's a first post. sorry about that Xander XD))

Erik had been casually scouting out talent for a few weeks now, and though he still felt he had a long way to go - as did his chosen stars - he'd been quite pleased with the outcome. That said, he'd decided it was high time he got the dance troupe for the show cast. He'd gotten himself in a small bit of trouble when he'd started the auditions by not having any of his crew hired yet, but he'd since rectified that problem. He had a good stage manager, several stagehands, an artistic director, a conductor, a head choreographer, and an acting/singing coach. None of them but the choreographer had been able to make it for the dance auditions for the day, and though Erik was mildly interested in what was going on onstage - he was more interested in the small notebook in front of him. Inside it there were notes on who needed what lessons for what - acting, vocals, swordplay, or simple coaching on a bit of everything. When Erik looked back up he realized that the choreographer had taken the current potentials offstage - probably to a back room where he could interview them each individually. This didn't bother Erik overly, except that he'd been so involved in his thoughts that he hadn't heard them leave. He was about to stand and stretch, then head back to where he was sure they were when he heard the soft footfalls and voice of someone in the main theatre with him. He gave a brief smile when the girl asked about a dance position and moved forward a bit to get a better look at her and to answer. And blinked. Another ghost? He'd always been aware of Meg Giry, though he'd never really spoken to her or known her personally - her mother, yes. But never Little Meg. Though he was somewhat more cautious now, he suspected that his voice was different enough - he was far more confident now - from the few times she'd heard it that she would not be able to make the connection between the man in front of her and the 'Ghost' back in France. He cleared his throat and spoke. "Indeed we are holding auditions. My choreographer has gone elsewhere with a small group of them currently, but you are welcome to warm up if you need to - and you are also welcome to give your portfolio or resume to me. I am the director." He sketched a bow to her, a sort of halfway formal greeting then took another step or two toward her, eyebrow raised. [[OOC: It's a good first post, and gave me plenty to work with. I hope I did the NPC coloring right. Sorry it took so long for me to reply. School is evil.]]

Meg Giry could tell the man was a little surprised to see her there. Perhaps he thought she was a ghost of the theater but she was not. She was just a small seventeen year old girl who was taking many lessons while in the city, dancing, singing, you name it, she probably was taking it. Even though she grew up in an Opera House, she'd never thought of trying singing. When she moved to New York, she discovered Opera wasn't very popular and musical theater was in. She decided she would try to become a "triple threat", since she was already a dancer.
Miss Giry wondered where the choreographer was. She didn't see one when she came in and she had no idea who the man was in the theater. She assumed he was involved with the production somehow. He seemed to be writing things in a notebook which seemed to confirm what she was thinking.
"Indeed we are holding auditions. My choreographer has gone elsewhere with a small group of them currently, but you are welcome to warm up if you need to - and you are also welcome to give your portfolio or resume to me. I am the director." Meg smiled shyly as he bowed to her and stepped toward her. She pulled her resume out of her bag and handed it to him. "I'm afraid not all of my dance credits would fit on the page." she said, almost embarrassed, "I was a dancer at the Paris Opera House, you see, so there were a whole lot..." She bit her lip softly, debating with herself if she was going to mention herself just beginning singing lessons. Eh, why not? "Actually," she said softly, "I've started singing lessons so if you need another singer, I can do both..." Suddenly she realized she didn't even give her name. "Oh, My name is Meg Giry, by the way."
((OOC: Aww, thanks. I'm sure you did. I'm not even sure how to do that XD It's okay sorry it took me so long to respond. Hope you don't mind about that part I added for Meg. XD))

Erik regarded her for another moment as she spoke and relaxed further. He'd noted the smile, and she'd not reacted badly to him, so he suspected she'd not made any connection. Good. She had indeed been in a lot of productions, and he suspected her resume probably contained only the best of those roles - which was as it should be. One wanted to impress and to land a position, not bore those casting with every last little detail of your career - unless they asked for it. When she mentioned being a dancer in Paris, he smiled. His accent was faint, but still there. English was easy for him, but he still had that damned accent.
"I too am from France, though it has been quite some time since I was there. I much prefer it here." He paused, folding his arms after taking the offered resume and scanning it. "The ballet in the Paris Opera was particularly fine." Another pause as he weighed what she'd said about starting singing lessons. He gave a smile again, and another small bow. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Meg Giry. My name is Erik Duval."
He motioned for her to do whatever she needed to prepare and settled back in his chair. "The choreographer will be here shortly, after he finishes his current interviews, I am sure. I am qualified to choreograph as well as direct, but thought the stress would be too much." Not completely true, but... eh. Who was counting? "I would be happy to have you audition for me if you would not like to wait. As for singing - my stars are cast, but I am in desperate need of chorus members still, and there are several character parts I have yet to fill. Some of them require dancing. If need be, and we cast you - could you devote extra time to more voice lessons and possibly a larger role?"
All questions he'd ask any potential, and he suspected he knew her answers - roles were hard to get in New York - but he'd been surprised before.

"I too am from France, though it has been quite some time since I was there. I much prefer it here." Meg smiled as she heard his faint accent. Hers was just as faint but she could hear it. It sounded like home honestly and it sounded slightly familiar...but it was probably because she knew the accent. "I could assure you nothing has changed, trust me." she said with a laugh and a smile, "I prefer it here as well.
The ballet in the Paris Opera was particularly fine." Meg smiled when he spoke of the ballet. "I'm glad you think so, sir." she said, "My mother was the choreographer." "It is a pleasure to meet you, Meg Giry. My name is Erik Duval." "The pleasure is mine, Mr. Duval." she said with a smile.
"The choreographer will be here shortly, after he finishes his current interviews, I am sure. I am qualified to choreograph as well as direct, but thought the stress would be too much." Meg nodded a bit. "I would imagine it would be, sir." she said with a smile, "I am already warmed up, sir, as I just from dance class."
"I would be happy to have you audition for me if you would not like to wait. As for singing - my stars are cast, but I am in desperate need of chorus members still, and there are several character parts I have yet to fill. Some of them require dancing. If need be, and we cast you - could you devote extra time to more voice lessons and possibly a larger role?" Meg could hardly comprehend it. The director was offering her the chance to audition for a singing role. Back in Paris, they would've brush her aside. "Sing for you, sir?" she asked, completely surprised as she smiled and said, "Oh yes, sir. I most certainly can devote the time to it. And the energy, I have a lot of that." she grinned.
