(OOC- *shines the Greaser Signal © into the sky* Ready for an epic thread, greasers? Hooray! Casual thread, shortish posts are allowed, and there's no posting order. Now let's get this party started!)
It was a Saturday night, Soda didn't have to work tomorrow, and for once he couldn't find any parties going on anywhere. He had sat on his couch, trying to figure out something to do before he exploded from boredom or something, unable to remember the last time a Saturday night had been so uneventful. It didn't take long before he remembered that Darry had gone off to some job fair in Maine or something on Friday night and wouldn't be back until Monday, at the earliest. It took him about three seconds after remembering that to decide that having a party of his own was a great idea.
It didn't take him more than an hour to get his hands on way more booze than necessary (or maybe not. You know how those things go.) and spread the word. After that, he sat back and got ready for the fireworks.

Whoever knew that carrying an armful of library books while trying to open a gate in near-darkness would be difficult? Apparently, not me. I sighed and managed to drop the book on the top of the stack- again- before leaning the whole pile on one arm while nudging the gat handle open as fast as I could. Then I picked the book I dropped off the ground and finally headed inside, rolling my eyes at my own idiocy.
I let the door slam behind me and went straight to the bedroom to dump everything on my side of it. On the way I yelled a quick greeting to Soda, and only after dropping off my stuff did I walk back to where he was and notice the dozens of bottles of alcohol Soda sat beside. I raised an eyebrow and asked casually as I plopped down next to him, "What's up with the beer?" I could guess pretty good what it was for, though, even just by the excited expression he had on. Soda was Soda, and Darry was away which made things even easier for him.
I had planned on spending the night just reading a chunk out of one of the books I'd borrowed, but I guess that wasn't gonna happen now. It was a cool change, but I leaned back on the couch and held the quiet there for just another second, because if Soda was holding a party here he wasn't gonna hold back. Then I stood up, grinned, and asked, "So when're they comin'?" By them, I meant the gang of course but also whover else Soda decided to invite along- Which, knowing him, would probably be close to the the whole east side of the neighbourhood.
