Reed felt her finger tips along his cheek and he smiled. She had a sweetness about her, and a vulnerability as well. Reed had the typical male problem of being totally oblivious most of the time, hence his transgression with the wine glass. However, there were things he noticed. Like her shock at him not wanting to hide what they were...whatever that was. He suspected it was from a certain amount of habit, perhaps not one but several lovers that had done so. Reed understood the thinking behind it as well. He'd done it before. Hidden a woman. Broken her heart. And for some reason, the thought of anyone doing it to Adrienne made Reed's blood simmer.
Reed chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Just like a woman," Reed teased and squeezed her thigh playfully. If he were honest with himself, he would notice that he enjoyed waking up to Adrienne, and he'd been a little let down when he thought she'd left that morning. If he were honest, he'd notice how affectionate she made him want to be, as opposed to the raw power of his normally sexual self (though of course he still had that power too). And if he were honest with himself, he'd see how utterly hypnotized by her beauty and her persona he'd become. Addicted, quickly, like one gets to heroine.
"Since it was my idea to take you to the gala, I'll fit the bill for this one, sweetheart. We'll go shopping. But only if I get to pick out what goes under it," he teased boyishly.

"No thank you," Adrienne said, and shook her head. "I'll go with you, but I dress myself, Mr Armstrong. Besides," she flashed him a wide grin, "you would do well to let me surprise you."
She still didn't quite believe him. Every time he surprised her with some new nugget of information -- like his affection for Coney Island, or his fear of heights -- he undid it with typical behaviour, like the wineglasses, or inviting her over in order to ignore her completely. She had refused his offer on two points -- the first was that she didn't intend to allow him to dress her. If he was going with her he was going with her. The second was more honest. She found she did want to impress him, if only superficially. It was stupid, but honest.
She braced the ball of her bare foot against his thigh almost thoughtfully. They did have a few hours before they were meant to be at work...

"Alright alright," he complained playfully, grinning down at her challengingly. "Then surprise me." To be honest, he knew that somehow she wouldn't pour herself into a fussy evening gown like most women of his stature did. The typical, boring gown that all looked the same to Reed, especially when in a heap on the floor. But now he was trilled and anxious to know what his hot little redhead would conjure up.
Reed felt the ball of her foot on his thigh, the skin tingling slightly from her touch. He ran a down to her ankle and up her leg, raising a brow.
"Are you seducing me Miss Heart?" he tease with a grin before he leaned close to her. He brushed his nose and lips teasingly across hers, and then nipped at her lips lightly. "because you're doing an awfully good job." Reed kissed her and stepped into her, between her legs, and he pulled her close, wanting her again.
