Vivian thought she knew where it was still. Though it had been years there was still a specific place that she would always remember. Some hole in the wall where she used to slip away to.Sometimes just to get away, and sometimes for other reasons. Hell, she wasn't even sure if she could remember what it looked like, or it's name. But today was the day she decided to take this little waltz through the past. It seemed like a good idea at the time. But now as a soft mist began to settle into a drizzle, she couldn't quite remember why exactly she had decided this was what she was doing with her night.
After all there were a million other places to be. A million other things she should have been doing. Better, more status appropriate things. But she had always been self serving, and if that meant spending the night looking for some bar she used to hang around, then that would be that. Though it made little sense, she was completely determined. It was somewhere that was out of the ordinary and reminded her of back when fun was just that. Much less political and contrived. It was true, Vivian lived for a spotlight. But there had been too much of one shining on the parts of life she didn't care to think too hard on lately. And that part was someone else. So really, it didn't matter to her at all. Or so she told herself.
Finally, she spotted it. Looking just as...nostalgic. That was probably the nicest way to describe it. Especially when compared to some of her more recent haunts. Still she smiled sweetly as she flashed her id to the "bouncer" and tried not to wince when she stepped inside. There were no flashing lights or throbbing music. In fact for now it was almost silent, though she could see that sooner or later some, and safe to assume, mediocre local band would take the stage. For now she preferred that to anything else. After all, if the band wasn't very good, there would be no record and therefore no record release party.
Ordering herself a very large drink she settled in to wait for the music. She remembered how she used to half worship the boys wielding guitars and bad tattoos. Now it was just one boy....Clearly she had acquired some form of taste, though she would never say that her arty girl days had diminished. Rather she just knew how to hide the less than glamorous parts of her nights.

He couldn't lie; at times, he wished for the old life. The life that he had once lived, where nothing could touch him. When time flew by so fast that Roger couldn't even focus on it. It flew by faster than the speed of light, and Roger had thrived on that feeling controlled insanity. Even the uncontrolled; sometimes, he longed for the feeling of complete and utter release.
The rain was falling, dripping down in a slight spray, and then harder to dump water under the streets of New York, and Roger ducked into the bar, shaking the water off of his leather jacket. He brought a hand up, brushing the water from his hair.
The small club was almost dead, no thumping music or loud, roaring laughter. He was slightly thankful for this; the one thing he didn't need right now was the temptation. He was here for a drink, maybe two, and then he'd go pick up Mimi from work.
He slid up to the barstool, ordering a beer from the older bartender, and he ran his fingers through his wet hair, elbows on the hard counter top surface as a sigh escaped his lips. He glanced over, seeing a pretty girl with brown hair, and his brows narrowed. She looked familiar.
Roger knew that he had known alot of people back in the days where he had been into drugs, back before everything had gone wrong. However, if asked to name any of them, he could barely name enough to fill one hand. The drugs, the heroin and the cocaine and blurred his memories together, and had even left some blank spots in his memory. However, the girl next to him looked familiar. Turning his head back to the beer in front of him, he paused, pulling out a cigarette from the back in his jacket. He lit it in silence, trying to focus back on the beer, but the girl next to him...she looked so damn familiar. Finally, he turned slightly, looking at the girl.
"...sorry, have we met?"

Vivian was not unaware of the man who sat down next to her at the bar. His presence felt familiar, but she figured it was, more likely than not, the nostalgia of this place. But it wasn't like she really remembered everything that happened from these days. "Those days" were the whole reason that she went by her middle name in such sorts of circles. She could barely remember what went happen for a whole host of inappropriate, and generally illegal reasons. Who the hell knew what she had done. She kept her mouth shut. It wasn't the kind of bar Vivian really wanted to get re-associated with. And if he was here, he probably wasn't the kind of person to be associating with either.
So she sat down and tried to focus on her drink. But then he spoke to her. He wasn't unattractive at all, and she was here for nostalgia. And if she did know him, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. He might be of a caliber...lower than she liked to think, but it wasn't like anything would leave this room. Maybe this was the benefit of being "average". Nobody would bother to look twice at what happened. All the little indiscretions and its of bad behavior would be nothing. Granted, she wouldn't be half of what she was today without a little help. She knew the line, and knew when to toe it. If the press caught her-or thought they caught her, doing something less than bubbly and rather boring it would keep her name at the tip of everyone's tongue.
She didn't need the money, but she needed the attention. Getting attention was what she did to kill time in-between adventures. But those two tended to work themselves into each other. It was useful.
"It's not impossible." Vivian settled that for a response and flashed the guy a mischievous smile. He did look familiar. But she couldn't place it. It was almost starting to annoy her though. She could play coy until the proverbial cows came home, but she liked to have a leg up in any game she started to play.If she did know him, she wanted to see that this reunion happened on terms she decided. And if she didn't...Then this could be quite fun indeed. But there was always the chance that he would know her, even if she didn't know him.

It's not impossible.
A slow smile spread on his lips as he watched her turn. He knew this girl, but he wasn't sure where. She didn't freak out like some of the old groupies had. His eyes moved up from the tip of her shoes, slowly up her legs. The girl's legs just went on and on. He felt himself swallow slightly, reminding himself that he had a girlfriend. A really hot stripper girlfriend that had legs that were a thousand times better than what the girl in front of him had...
It was then that Roger realised it. He had seen this girl before. At the clubs, seemingly decades ago. Flashes of memories came back; dancing in the club. Body shots at the bar. Lips barely touching and hips grinding together. Moving, he motioned for the bartender. "Another one for my friend here and another one for me."
Roger watched as another drink was prepared for Vivian and Roger and set in front of them. He licked his lips slightly
Roger brought the beer up to his lips, taking a gulp. A slight smile crossed his face as he turned back to her. "I do know you, you know." he said after a moment, turning to her with a smile.
"I haven't seen you in a while though. It's your outfit. It reminded me of you."

Vivian continued to smile coyly as he ordered drinks for them both. So far he knew how to be charming, though she often liked to think of it as polite. That was always a plus in potential not stranger. It definitely made her want to know him in any case. But he claimed he did know her...She didn't want to be the one unable to place him, if he could place her. Or really, she didn't want to come off as stupid. With her social status and nearly constant presence in the media, it wasn't unusual for people to "know" her when she didn't know them. But something about him made her think that perhaps he actually meant it.
"Well, it's been a very long time since I've been here." She raised her glass in the guy's direction before taking a sip of her new drink. she wasn't exactly sure how she wanted to play this one. She wasn't sure what he knew about her, which made her just a little bit nervous. Some days she wished her life was just a little bit more sorted out. But that wouldn't be very much fun at all.
He looked like he could be someone. Or the shadow of someone that was or might have been. She couldn't quite put her finger on it. That only made sense though. She didn't come here to do things that would leave a solid imprint on her memory. Maybe she should have though. He just had something about him. But she saw the look in his eye.
It hit her then. Of course he was one of the boys who she wasn't so attached to, at least in the emotional sense. He certainly had been around frequently. She could see it the flirting, and the way she would try to draw him in with as little clothing as possible and not so appropriate touching. A small laugh escaped her.
"So here we are again."

Well, it's been a very long time since I've been here.
Through the haze, he remembered her, though he wasn't sure if it was the last time he had seen her, or a blend of every single drug-fueled memory that he had. "It's been a while since I've been here, too. At least, what times I can remember."
That was the truth, he had many memories that had completely been erased from his mind. He watched as she took a slow sip from the drinkk, and he felt himself chuckle slightly before he light a cigarette, taking a swig of the beer that the bartender had set in front of him.
"So here we are." he stated, and then looked over at her. "And If I may be so bold...you're lookin' just as hot as I remember."
Harmless flirting was harmless, right? Now that he was sober, he wouldn't take the harmless flirting as an offer for sex and take her to the bathroom or the back room. When he was on drugs, anything went, no matter how low or dirty.
His old self probably would have taken her to the back already.

((HOLY GOD! Didn't mean to just fall off the face of the earth there, so sorry!))
Vivian laughed lightly at his comments, though propriety told her she probably shouldn't have. It wasn't like that was really forever ago, and it wasn't like she was completely not that way anymore. But she knew it had been much more difficult then. Back when Heathcliff had been a real fixture in her life. She was skating around it for now, but she felt pretty sure that if things blew up like they did before, she was going to lose it again. Vivian never had been one to exercise much self control at all. And from what she could remember she had had some decent enough times.
"You're not looking to bad yourself." She added in an only half joking once over. She didn't know what had really prevented her from going there with him. If she actually had prevented it. She could just have been to drunk. He wouldn't be the first one honestly. She kind of liked it better this way though.
"So what brings the all-mighty rockstar back to this dive?" She hadn't kept tabs on him, but she did distinctly remember that he was on the verge, if not hitting it big. He was good, but she had more personal issues to focus on. Now that she wasn't popping pills and chasing down one night stands on the daily. Vivian had gotten away with it. Hell she still did, but in a much more distinct setting. One of the perks of being privileged. Also of actually being of age. Come to think of it, it was a miracle she had gotten away with any of it. A little wicked smile crept onto her face, she felt quite clever now.

You're not looking too bad yourself.[/b]
"I try." Roger said with a smile, taking a gulp of the beer that had been put in front of him by the bartender. He glanced over, hearing her ask what had brought the all-mighty rockstar back to the dive they had found themselves in, and Roger laughed slightly, bringing a cigarette out to light. He took a drag, watching her for a moment before scoffing, the smoke escaping his lungs. "This dive is home to me. Haven't exactly been making it big since you last saw me."
God, that was the understatement of the century. "Besides, even if I was makin' it big...I'm not down with that whole sorta, you know, famous lifestyle. Don't think I'd be able to handle all that pressure and shit. So I come here. Some people know me, some people don't."

As Roger took out a cigarette she did the same. It wasn't a habit she liked anyone to know about, but the man sitting next to her had seen her do much, much worse. As she inhaled, she watched him do the same, exhaling just after he did. After all this time she wasn't entirely sure how to pick things up again. There was no denying she was still the same girl at heart, just a more grown up version. Where it once had been dive bars and underage drinking, it was ow vip rooms and other not so legal activities. She just hid it better now.
Vivian was genuinely surprised to hear that Roger wasn't making it big time. He had had his...issues. How big and deep they were, she had no idea, but she heard what some people were saying. But he was talented and, perhaps more importantly, charming. Though she spent most of her time being part of the social scene that included rock stars, and though she had lost track of him she had just thought...Well, that wasn't true. She hadn't thought to much about him since whenever they had last seen each-other. But she would have thought he would be living the high life.
"It's not so bad, being in the spotlight." Sometimes Vivian couldn't help but think that it was less that she liked the spotlight and more that she needed it. Honestly, Vivian wasn't sure what she would do without it. As sad as it sounded, the spotlight was home to her.
"Well what else have you been doing with yourself. It's been forever!" She took another drag of her cigarette and smiled brightly at him. She was curious now.
