"Mm... I think you'll have to convince me."
Adrienne kissed him back softly, deciding it certainly wouldn't be a bad thing to distract him from the subject with a little sex, and then she wouldn't really need to answer him on it. She stretched under him, hooking her leg around behind him and running her toes along the back of his calf.

So she was going to play coy. So be it.
Reed kissed her again, softer and more tenderly than their kisses had been earlier. The type of passion that shook the soul and ran deep into your bones. Reed touched her slowly and thoroughly, as though affirming his position on the matter. This will be at your pace. That or, I want to make love to you, not fuck you into oblivion. At least for that moment. And make love he would.
________
There was something about earth-shattering slow passion that gripped at Reed every time he'd had it. And here he was, thoroughly shattered by the tartly little redhead, with curves that could wrap around him and choke him. But as he lay there, not even rolled off her yet, his face pressed gently to her chest, he knew he was drowning in this woman.
Reed hadn't had the strength to lift himself off her when they both finished, and he knew he was surely crushing her, but he couldn't find the gumption to move, her legs still entwined about him and his face pressed close to her chest. He felt their after tremors of passion and closed his eyes, kissing the soft skin of her body. He didn't say much. He didn't think he could without sounding like a teenager that had had their first orgasm.
She was a dangerous woman. That was for certain.

Adrienne was content to let him crush her, for the moment. She cradled his head with her arm, stroking the damp curls from his forehead. He was convincing her, slowly. It wasn't that Adrienne didn't want the things he was offering. She did. She wanted romance, and monogamy and everything she was supposed to want. It was just that she found herself lacking. She imagined it frequently, but it was never herself she fantasised about.
She would choose an actress to play herself in her own fantasies, almost. She wanted a Cary Grant romance -- but only if she could be Katharine Hepburn.
I haven't had an honest-to-God girlfriend since college.
She was reminded of the picture of him on his ID, looking gawky and awkward and wary of the camera. What did she do to you? She wondered vaguely, and pressed a kiss to his forehead.
"All right..." she said, almost warily, as though the world would change when she spoke, "I think I'm convinced."

Reed smiled at her soft kiss, and he tensed and shifted his muscles, just to be sure he was still thoroughly connected to his body. He'd experienced a moment of pure, mindless, pleasure and emptiness in his mind with her. But not a bad emptiness. A content emptiness, content to let things happen the way they should have. Reed finally pushed himself up off her, after pressing another kiss to the bone between her voluptuous breasts.
He sighed and rolled onto his back for a long moment, tracing patterns on her soft stomach, the skin there tender and lovely, as was the rest of her. He dipped his finger into her belly button and continued tracing random circles along her skin, closing his eyes.
"Good," Reed finally spoke, his body still shivering occassionally from the feel of her. Life affirming sex. A rare commodity, but an addicting one. Reed sighed and found her hand , clasping it gently. "We're terrible for each other you know," he mused gently. "I just don't think I care. On the surface, they were terrible for each other. He was too arrogant, she talked too much. He was impatient, and she picked fights. But there was just...something there.

"That's why I don't get it," Adrienne said, and looked sideways at him. Of all the things she had guessed he might do, propositioning her for an actual relationship hadn't been one of them. Why would he give up everything he had just for her? Especially when she hadn't been giving him an ultimatum -- he had her.
He'd had her numerous times in various places. He couldn't have had it any sweeter, she'd thought, because Adrienne wasn't exactly known for her ability to resist men. She certainly hadn't been able to resist him even when she'd been resisting him. Twice now he'd swept her into bed when her idea had been exactly the opposite.
"You practically kicked me out of bed when you thought I was in love with you, and now -- just so you know, you don't make sense."

Reed sighed and shrugged slightly. "If I knew what I was doing, I would explain it. But I don't," Reed confessed honestly.
Honesty. He was never known for it, but here he was, wanting to be brutally honest with her. Well, those things would come in time. For then, Reed was content to waste the rest of his day off in bed. In bed and with her, of all people. Reed squeezed her hand and threw another up to his face, rubbing his stubble that had grown slightly over the course of the night. He rolled up on his side at looked down at her, a smile on his face.
"I don't know what's going on, but I like it. My life has been pretty straightforward up until now. Sex, rinse, repeat. A little chaos never hurt anyone." Reed leaned down and kissed Adrienne again, one of those sweet good morning kisses. He felt fifteen years younger, fresh and new to everything. All over again.
And it wasn't so terrible.
