Warning: Graphic images and Gross Things Ahead
The situation, to most, would have been a painfully awkward one. Delivering a body to mortuary only to watch it disappear forever. But for Hector Tormei, seasoned mob boss, the event was a casual, expected affair. It wasn't the first time he had to get rid of one of his cronies who pushed the wrongs buttons and spilled the wrong secrets to the wrong people. It had been a messy, personal affair. Usually Hector let one of his...specialists handle the information gathering but this time, the Rich One wanted the blood on his hands.
The fool had tried to hand a police officer evidence linking Hector to thirty years worth of crime.
Hector had found out and needless to say, the cop was iced and the snitch was brought to the boss directly. It took three hours of torture before he passed out and another two before he bleed to death.
The body that was laid before Hector's good friend and associate was hardly identifiable as a body any more. The fingers were missing, as was the lower lip and both upper eye lids. The pants and part of the shirt had been melted onto the body and bits of charred, burnt flesh were visible through the damaged material. Hector's favorite part was the left foot which he tossed carelessly on the table. It was in a zip lock bag and, before the dismemberment, traitor had been burnt into the flesh using a saudering iron. That had been Ian's contribution after taking care of the cop.
Hector waited patiently for his business partner to arrive and handle the situation in a way that only he could.

Damien walked hurriedly into the Mortuary only to have seen his bussiness partner Hector toss what looked like a foot onto the table. Looking down at it he examined it carefully then looked at Hector. " Busy day?" He asked as he looked over the charred broken body shaking his head and tsking slightly.
" What this one do?" Damien wondered as he finally lifted the limb that was in the zip lock bag placing on gloves before he handled the remains. " I assume you'd like me to get rid of the body for you. Any plans on how you would like me to?"
Damien then placed the foot back on the table after taking off one of the gloves on his right hand and placed his hand onto Hector's shoulder and looked into his eyes. "Why is it you never come to me with anything besides corpses? " Damien always wanted to enjoy his bussiness partner's company but never was allowed too and he really didn't know why.
" Not that I don't mind you coming here with anything besides work. It would be nice if I was invited to enjoy a glass of wine every once in a while." He said and then took his hand off Hector's shoulder looking down at the corpse with distaste. " I assume whatever this guy did he had it coming ...." Damien replied still shaking his head. He didn't want to get on his bussiness partner's bad side so he stopped his talking.

"Come now Damien, we're both very busy men," Hector smirked as his friend worked. "If it weren't for that fact, I would gladly invite you over for dinner. But, as we both know, two jobs are a lot of work," Hector chuckled to himself. Two jobs. Oh yes, they both had two very different jobs.
"This one thought it would be hilarious to hand evidence to the cops," Hector crossed his arms and looked at the body with disgust. "I'd ask you to take care of the cop as well, but Ian already took care of that one,"

Damien knew that Hector was right but he wished there was more he could do other than take care of the corpses that came in the Mortuary each and every day. Placing his glove back on hus right hand Damien started back to his work. "Ian took care of the cop? Oh ...how?" Damien looked at Hector with a raised eyebrow.
" I hope no one comes looking for these bodies...." He muttered suddenly as he continued to work. " This man...he didn't have a family, did he?" Damien asked looking up from the body back to his friend. " If he did don't you think they will be looking for him?" He didn't know if being part of Hector's body disposal crew was such a good idea. But alas he could never say to his friend, no. Damien would never break his promises to Hector and tonight was no exception.

"Typical Ian fashion, you know how he favors piano wires and the Hudson," Hector walked around the table so that he was across from Damien. All the questions didn't worry the mob boss, he knew Damien well enough to know that whatever was said remained between them.
"I have a no family rule, Damien. My men aren't allowed to have anyone waiting for them at night, no tattoos, no loved ones to raise a fuss," Hector plucked a pair of gloves from the box and slid them on with some trouble. Hector's hands were larger than Damien's so the fit was rather tight and a little uncomfortable but he could handle it.

Damien nodded looking at his friend Hector. “I know how he adores the Hudson, I really shouldn’t have asked. Anyways, I will get this taken care of anything else you wanted to tell me, Hector? Any other business you wanted to discuss?” Damien asked hoping that his friend would tell him about anything new that was going on with him.
Damien took the foot and discarded it as he continued to work on the body to make sure that no one would be nosey around his work area, let alone bother him as well as Hector. He had made sure that the door to the mortuary was locked as he continued to clean up the body.

"No, not really," Hector settled by the table, helping Damien clean up the body. Before meeting the young man's acquaintance, Hector did most of the clean up himself and knew how to get it done. More or less, that is. Hector made it a butcher's job, hacking away at the body before bathing the parts carefully to remove all traces. Damien's way was better, cleaner. Less blood and less time.
Hector wasn't able to form an accurate response to Damien's question. His life for the past month or two had been sedate. Business as usual. He was making money at a ridiculous rate, while making new partners and eliminating enemies. Pretty soon, his life would be one of leisure. Of course, Hector was sure he would get bored easily. Then, perhaps, he could venture into politics. That would be a nice, easy way to pass the time. Even though the mobster had no experience where politics were concerned, he had mingled with enough 'public servants' to know the song and dance. And of course, he was always up to date with laws and the economy.
((I'm keeping this thread in the time when it was posted, which was way before Hector got interested in running for mayor))
