Wardrobe: Mimi tends to wear alot of thrift store clothes, along with sweaters and jeans. She prefers her jeans to have rips and tears in them. Her style can be described as "street punk preppy goth"-- She has a long list of words that can describe her style, but the best one would be just simply "Mimi".[/ul]

General personality:
Mimi does like to go with the crowd, but she does so in her own way, only if it feels right to her, otherwise she'll go another way. She is at once easy and hard to approach--her sweet and sensual way of doing things makes people want to be around her, but her intensity pushes people away.
Though she puts on a tough-yet-sweet girl act, Mimi Marquez hides a more vulnerable side, a side that she is afraid of. She doesn't want people to think that she always needs someone to protect her, she wants to be independent. Mimi does have a big weakness; she has recently come off of herion and the road to a normal, clean life has been hard, and she is more open to leaning on the people who want to be there for her now.
Though she doesn't have much money, Mimi does consider herself a girl who has a taste for the finer things in life. She is truly a work of contrasts--though she does like some of the finer things, she is perfectly content with being at home in her little run down apartment, or being held by Roger, just snuggling. Mimi lives everyday as if it is her last and is not one to regret decisions she makes---to her, there are no mistakes, only lessons.

History:
Mimi Marquez was born to Maria Marquez and Benito Hernandez, though her father left a few years after she was born, leaving her mother to raise Mimi on her own. In her younger years, she was blissfully ignorant to their social status, and didn't know why she got so many looks when her and her mother used food stamps at the store or came out of Goodwill with clothing bags.
During her teenage years, she became more rebellious, starting fights and school and falling in with the wrong crowd senior year. Some of her friends got her to try herion, and she was hooked at the age of eighteen. One night a year later, when her mother discovered Mimi in the process of shooting up, she was thrown out of the house.
Forced to live on her own, for a while she crashed with friends, but then eventually began to live on the streets. When she ran out of herion, she started to become desperate, and took a job as a stripper to feed her habit. After a while of living in the club's back room, she was able to get an apartment in a building across the way from the club. It wasn't long until she discovered she was HIV positive, and had to start working harder to pay for her medicine.
And then she met Roger.
At first, the gutairist denied her, but eventually the two were able to become romantic, Mimi being accepted fully into Roger's group of friends, Angel, Collins, Mark, Maureen, and Joanne. For a while, Mimi was happy--she'd found a lover, and had finally found a new family. Then Angel finally succumbed to the disease, and her new world seemed to fall apart around her. Roger left, and Mimi couldn't handle it. She went on a herion binge, and when she couldn't find more, she went searching, dissapearing for weeks.
She was finally found a brought back to Roger and Mark's apartment. As Roger was declaring his love for her, she seemingly died, but came back, claiming that she'd seen a white tunnel and Angel at the end of it. After that, she got clean and started recieving treatment, and now lives with Roger in that same apartment building, having moved out of the apartment she once had there, also quitting her job at the club.

It was cold outside.
Cold always reminded her of her mother, not only because of how cold she'd been to her, but because when it was cold outside, her mother had always found a way to make and keep her warm, even if it was sacraficing her own warmth. In all honesty, Mimi didn't blame her for throwing her out at all--after raising someone right so they wouldn't be like that, she found out her daughter had turned into exactly what she'd tried preventing.
Mimi looked down, her brown eyes filling with a threatening wetness. Her arms were wrapped around herself, and she was dressed in a light blue sweater, a gray mini skirt with jeans underneath, not currently wearing shoes. Looking out the window, the bluish grey light of a cold dawn's first moments shining on her face, lending it's blueness to her curly brown hair as she sat in the large windowsill.
For a while, she thought about the man sleeping in the bed a few feet away. She loved Roger, she could feel it, feel it in her very bones. Whenever she thought about him, a warm, fluttering sensation took flight in her chest.
A smile bloomed on her lips, and she leaned her forehead on the cold glass, she started to sing, her voice softlydrifing through the apartment. "And now that I'm strong I have figured out how this world turns cold and it breaks through my soul...and I know I'll find...deep inside me, I can be the one..."
