Hi, my name is Taylor and this is my first character. I found this site through Dally/Hamlet since I met her through another site . Something you should know about me is Uh. I’m…wearing orange capris right now. It’s very exciting. And I’m also known for being really random..
Canon: The Outsiders
Custom Title:”They can't break your heart unless you give it to 'em” If it’s not too long.
PHYSICAL
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Height: 5’9”
Body: Thin, but still strong looking and fit enough to hold her own
Other distinguishing features: Long and thick, somewhat curly dark hair, pouty lips, wears quite a bit of make-up.
Wardrobe: Sylvia’s clothes are pretty tidy as she wouldn’t want to wear dirty or stained clothes. Sylvia doesn’t have much money, so they’re nothing too fancy. She’s likely to just wear blue jeans on most days.[/ul]
Play By: Demi Moore
PERSONALITY
General personality:
On the surface, Sylvia can almost be summed up in one word: fiery. She’s never one for being shy, no matter what the circumstance. She’s not much of a worrier, and seems to be about as confident as any eighteen can be, to the point that it borders on cockiness. She has a real biting sense of humor, and can turn into an outright bitch if rubbed the wrong way.
Sylvia tends to be very indirect. She won’t tell someone what’s bothering her, but rather try to hurt them as much as they’ve hurt her. She’s also prone to plotting and scheming against people who piss her off enough. In general, Sylvia doesn’t leave things unfinished and in her attempts to solve things, she tends to make them worse.
Underneath all that, Sylvia’s still a teenage girl. Some part of her does want to have that fairytale romance, despite the fact that she doesn’t really believe in it. She wouldn’t even really admit this to herself, but that’s mostly because she doesn’t even realize it. Sylvia doesn’t think of things logically or even really think much at all, but instead acts almost entirely on her emotions and her emotions alone.
Likes:
Dislikes:
Strengths: Really loyal to true friends, confident, persistent, fairly reliable/punctual
Weaknesses: Indirect, stubborn, hot-headed, lack of logic in planning, impulsive, manipulative
BACKGROUND
Family: Jim and Fran Hayes
Education: Graduated from high school mostly with C’s and that’s where her education ends.
Occupation: Just got her first job waiting tables when she moved out to New York.
Worst past experience:A pregnancy scare at 16
Best past experience: A road trip with a good friend to Las Vegas
Image: Most people would probably see Sylvia as a real bitch, or at least a bit stand off-ish. She’s not overly friendly, but she tends to come across pretty confident. She’s also has a reputation for being a bit of a slut, though there really isn’t much truth to it.
History:
Sylvia was an only child to Jim and Fran, and was never really too close to her grandparents or extended family. She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, all the way across the country. She didn’t like it there at all, what with the humidity and the fact that her whole family was living nearby (not that she visited them a whole lot).
For the most part, her life was pretty uneventful growing up. But she had a best friend from elementary all through high school, and they did all kinds of crazy stuff. Her favorite’s probably when they decided they weren’t in the mood for school, packed some stuff, took off on a road trip, and wound up in Las Vegas. The only bad part was getting kicked out of a club because their fake IDs didn’t work out so well.
She had her first boyfriend at sixteen, and he was a real douche. Sylvia had a pregnancy scare and the guy ended up breaking up with her for some other chick shortly after she told him. Fortunately for her, it was only scare. She’s had a few other guys since then, but she didn’t stick with them for too long.
Sylvia had one or two really close friends back in Tulsa, but that’s pretty much it. She made quite a few enemies, and actually ended up getting into a few bitch fights. The most recent one was just days before her eighteenth birthday. It was a little rougher, and stupidly enough, Syl ended up hurting a girl who she later found out was a cop’s kid. She got hell for it from her parents and since the idea of facing too many consequences wasn’t so appealing, she moved as far away from the whole deal as she could. She hadn’t heard of too many cities all the way across the country, but at least she knew New York. So to New York she goes.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample: I kicked open the door of the bar, sauntering over to a stool. It wasn't hard to find one; most bars are hardly ever full on a Sunday afternoon. I spun around, leaning back against the counter and watching the few people who were milling around. The majority were the regulars who didn't have anywhere else to go no matter what time of day it was, though there were a few I didn't recognize. They weren't doin' anything interesting so I didn't bother trying to find out what they were doing hanging around.
Scanning the room, I froze when I spotted the back of a dark-haired head I hadn't seen in a while. Dallas Winston. My eyes narrowed and I was tempted to get up and leave. After all, he'd gotten his ass thrown in jail and I hadn't been able to see him even if I wanted to; maybe he'd get to see how it felt.
I stood up, but just couldn't get my legs to walk out the door. Sitting back down with a huff, I settled with glaring at the back of his head.
