Likes:
Dislikes:
Strengths: strong morals, family support, inner confidence
Weaknesses: easily swayed by the people she loves, sometimes too polite
BACKGROUND
Family: her parents Mr. and Mrs. Morland, her older brother James, several younger siblings
Education: finished high school. Going to college at NYU
Occupation: has a part-time job at a small, Mom&Pop type bookstore
Worst past experience: growing up plain
Best past experience: Visiting Bath with her neighbors
Image: People see her as a shy, modest, girl. Occasionally funny and very straightforward.
History: Grew up in a rather large, but loving family in a small town in England. Most of her siblings weren't that close to her, but she was very fond of one younger sister and her older brother, James. She and James got along quite well as far as brothers and sisters go. They played together often and he taught her the rules of baseball. It saddened her when he went to college, but she was happy for his opportunity to learn and experience the world. Her life was quite simple; school, play, and chores were the order of the day.
She spent a lot of time with an older couple, the Allens, who lived nearby. They'd been in her life as long as she could remember. At times, when the noise and constant activity of her full house got to her, she'd walk to their house and visit. Mr. and Mrs. Allen never had children and were happy for Catherine's company. In fact, they liked her so much that when they decided to go on vacation to Bath they took her with them. She had the time of her life, dancing, flirting and enjoying life outside of her town for the very first time. She felt that she could never leave, but leave she did.
When she was home again she felt restless after all that fun and decided to travel more. This time she thought she'd go to school abroad. After a lot of research she settled on NYU. Which, to be honest, was a little further than she'd originally planned. But such a great school and city that she couldn't help it. Six months later she had her student visa, her scholarship, and her brand new life layed out in front of her.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample: Kayla had finally made it. She'd wanted to visit here for years, but somehow never made it this direction. Actually she'd gone all around it, to almost all the southern states but not Louisiana. Now she was here at last, in New Orleans, it was going to be fabulous her brain told her. She was going to have the time of her life, she argued with herself. But as she looked at her surroundings a seed of doubt sprouted in her mind.
"It looks like any other city", she sighed aloud. And it did, tall buildings, busy streets, apartments, restaurants, people of all ages. It was all so... normal. With a growl to herself she pushed these thoughts away. A determination to enjoy herself set in and she refused to see anything else wrong with the city. It would be exactly what she wanted it to be.
At that moment she forced herself to notice the rather unique architecture on the hotel she was checking into. An older building, the brick walls had a touch of a victorian air to them and she smiled with satisfaction at having picked a local hotel rather than a chain. When she'd gotten checked in and went to her room she was happy to see that not only was it clean, it was pretty. So it was with these mood-lifting discoveries that she set about on her walk through the town known as The Big Easy.
