She had not imagined that anything would have happened so quickly. Here she was, holding a ring more accurately feeling it with her fingers. The child she had in her arms hugging her, she had heard him weep and weep for the whole night . Now he slept, her lover and the one thing that meant most of all her child. But then she had received Richards call, the movers had come and she had no second to herself and the boy. It all moved so quickly that she could not handle the whole situation.
Richard after all had left orders, and now they were here. Ready and willing to be taken home. Now she only guessed if there was any excitement in her for this little act. Also she wondered , wondered deeply and hoped that any of the press had not followed her. She wanted a moment alone, and a moment as well with her husband. She was truly focused now, her heart above all as she felt a house full of love. Her son could not have a father, even though he was not the best.
But then again, what was good and what was right . So long as she had her son by her side, that meant things would work out. But now with Hector on the campaign run , and her recently married she wondered if Richard was plotting anything at all. Would he be doing evil deeds. Would she be followed and spied again to actually keep a safe hold on her. Her love was dear for Richard, but if he did that then she would turn cold and give him her shoulder .
But that was all yet to be seen, experienced and chewed like a soft tender meat which a dog or a wolf ate. Yes she had claws to, and she was now more witty because of the events that had happened with Richard. But she also could not let her mind slip, not just yet she had affairs that still needed to be looked over. Hearing a car pass by, she turned around and sighed and wondered if that was Richards car. She had not noticed the model before, how clumsy sometimes she could be.

The wedding of Richard Plantagenet and Anne Lancaster had been a relatively small and private affair from which even the media kept their distance. The events that had led them to their currents positions - the murder of Anne's late husband as the key example - meant that it would have been expected for them both to enter into the union with at least a shred of guilt, however small. This was not the case, or at least it didn't seem to be so. The nature of Richard and Anne's tempestuous relationship had changed (for better or for worse), that and Richard wasn't about to succumb to guilt when he was the happiest he'd been for years.
It had all come about very quickly, surprisingly so, even for Richard. He had never imagined that Anne's arrival at his office that day would have ended in their engagement (despite the fact he'd been hoping for it sooner or later), nor that a few weeks later they would be married, after all these years, after all that had passed between them.
All this and Anne and Henry had yet to move officially from their former home to the Plantagenet Manor. It had been little over a week but unfortunately events in Richard's other sphere of influence (that is to say, his position in running the city) had overtaken him for a time. Namely Hector Tormei jumping on the political bandwagon. Richard had managed to refocus long enough to ensure Anne and Henry's belongings were moved to the manor before making arrangements to take the pair there himself. They had arranged to meet on Brooklyn Bridge - Richard couldn't help but feel there was something symbolic in it.
Looking out of the car's tinted window Richard was quick to spot Anne and her son waiting. The driver stopped when ordered and Richard got out of the car, approaching the pair as swiftly as his bad leg would allow.
Having reached Anne's side he gave her a swift kiss on the cheek, concious of the sleeping Henry in her arms.
"Shall we?" he asked, with a smile.

She stared at Richard, a smile curling across her lips.; Her high heels gently walking over to the man who was her husband. Her body leaning in, her lips touching his own as she chuckled and started to seat herself. The boy shaken away slightly, a sigh escaped her as she rubbed his back and saw him fall asleep instantly. " He had not slept at all, he was running all night taking care of his mother" she said to no one in particular and smiled. Her tongue biting itself slightly, why was he mind suddenly thinking of so many things and yet at the nerves of arriving at the manor and finding everything a mess.
She was worried as well about Richard and how his bad leg could not with stand itself to much. Then again, maybe he was just the sort of man for those kinds of runs. But either way, she was not going to force him to any sort of hard labor work. She would handle that and with very good intentions as well. She wanted him to have the best time, and also relax. Yet at the same time, she was also hiding something from him. She kind of found it quite humorous. But how to ask the man about the idea or the very thing that was waiting at the manor. Yes it was hard enough hiding ti with Henry wailing and yet at the same time when he asked if they could have animals and any animal she had told him no.
Then again, what harm could there be in actually asking the man. " I hope it was not to much trouble for you love to take our things" she asked and smiled wondering at the same time what he would say. She also was curious about what would come later, what would the press say. Turning around she spotted a car being parked as she quirked her brow and gulped. Was that, no they could not have caught up to her that quick. Yet it was a possibility. Leaving the boy behind, she started to stand up and walked over to Richard. She wanted to hide her love in the intimacy, and yet at the same time the mayor had to show some sort of form that he loved his wife.
" Richard.. My Richard.. Shall we hide our love further, or shall I see thy smile for the camera and the newspapers. Maybe this old bird can also suggest you new policies she whispered and slid her hands on his coat. The coldness of the air as she was excited to do this. She wanted to break away the dam fear that she had for the press. Who else would have actually done this if not him. Yet at the same time, this did not mean that she was being controlled . No not in the least, she was going to be his wife and yet at the same time she wanted to actually as well have a little bit of liberty. If he did not let her , well she would have to be forceful and stuck up.
But who now, would make the next move, who now would claw and suckle each other in sweet tended kisses . Would it be she or him. She wanted to see his smile, the way his old wrinkles curled and made his face pleasant and warm.
"I love you" she whispered and curled a finger in his hair the air around them making the scene enjoyable.

As Anne kissed him gently back Richard found he smiled all the more, both inwardly and outwardly. Even now it was hard to come to terms with the fact he and Anne were married, after all this time, all they'd been through. Yet at the same time despite its relative uniqueness, the gesture seemed natural, as though it was meant to be.
" He had not slept at all, he was running all night taking care of his mother"
Richard did not reply to this but simply smiled as Anne did. Henry wouldn't have to act as his mother's guardian any more, now that she had him. He would take care of them both, better than he had done before. He wasn't a caring person by nature, yet it seemed Anne had changed him to a degree.
"I hope it was not to much trouble for you love to take our things"
Richard shook his head, stil smiling.
"No trouble at all," he replied.
It was then that he heard the sound of a car drawing up near to them. He turned, only to see it was some members of the press. He inwardly cursed, wanting, for once in his newfound role, to be out of the spotlight. But it seemed this was not to be.
As if on cue Richard's driver emerged from the car and placed young Henry inside, as if to protect the child from the galre of the media. Richard was just about to follow him, Anne in tow, when Anne drew closer to him.
" Richard.. My Richard.. Shall we hide our love further, or shall I see thy smile for the camera and the newspapers. Maybe this old bird can also suggest you new policies..."
"Perhaps," Richard replied, somewhat distractedly, disconcerted by the sudden appearance of the journalists who didn't look at though they were about to leave. Surely they could see this was a private moment?
"I love you"
Ordinarilly Richard would have found Anne's gesture and her words comforting and taken pleasure in them, but not at that particular moment. He gently prised her hand from his hair and simply held it instead.
"I love you too, my dear, but now is not the time for such displays of affection," he said, kindly but with a certain firmness. He intentions in marrying Anne, when he'd originally hatched the plan, had indeed been to gloat over his victory and show her off to the press, but not any more. Ever since she'd confessed she loved him, truly loved him, his plan and his feelings had changed. He wanted this moment alone with her and no-one else; he wasn't like his brother, determined to show his wife and his love for her off, blatantly, at evry oppurtunity. But it seemed he wouldn't get his way.

Anne started to stare at Richard. Her body shifting away as she started to walk over inside the car and picked up her son. Her eyes looking back at the press, she was a fool to think that Richard would agree to something like that. Yet at the same time, she had to agree with one point there. The man had seen her being afraid of what the paparazzi told of her life. Yet at that moment , she could have seen him gloat on it. But here she was again, talking bad about her husband. This was no way, no way at all to treat somebody she loved. Yet at the same time, she was happy. A challenge had been delivered, yet the challenge had been taken care with no problems at all.
But what was more important now, was not the challenge . But the love, she admired Richard even more now because of his tightness to his duty of her. " So I hear you have decided to go for reelections, and your opponent is Hector Tomei. Is he not the man who owns a library in town" she asked and started to see her child shift and sit on top of her in a more comfortable position. She waited for Richard to get inside the car, then again the man could take all the time he wished there was no rush. Just that she had a curiosity what went around his head at moments like these. She also wondered what in the world would they do, she hoped that she could at least. As his wife, take care of some of the duties of the house. She liked doing that sort of thing anyways.
Also there was another matter she wanted to discuss, their introduction as a married couple. But this would only be discussed if he was in a good mood. Then again, politics might be filling his head as well.

As Anne moved away towards the car Richard noted how relieved he was that she hadn't chosen to take things any further, as she had certainly seemed tempted to do. The press, seeming to sense the same, returned to their vehicle and departed.
Richard allowed himself a small smile of satisfaction before returning to the car himself and getting in to sit beside Anne. As if on cue the car began to move off as Richard closed the door behind him, headed for Plantagenet Manor as instructed.
"So I hear you have decided to go for reelections, and your opponent is Hector Tomei. Is he not the man who owns a library in town"
Richard's smile faded a little at Anne's words, though when he spoke he remained cordial. If he were perfectly honest, at this moment in time at least, he didn't want to discuss politics. Besides, hadn't Anne always insisted she wanted no part in it?
"He's the man who owns a book store and I'd really appreciate it if we didn't talk about politics."

He was cautious with his words, she would comply with him. But she wanted to have that part of her free, though she was glad for impeding that stunt. Thanks to Richard she would be able to sleep a little more soundly thanks to him saving her once again. But now that things were going to change, she would be able to be with him now more every day . Except the days that he was in mayoral duties and the days that he was not . She would be able to relax tonight. Knowing that her husband had taken care of her so well. Seeing the child, her child stir, she picked him up and set him on her lap.
She saw him lull into a deep sleep as Richard entered the car and she smiled. " How are you my darling" she whispered and started to smile. A redness to her cheeks forming as she felt devilishly in a good mood. She did not understand it yet . But she grasped it with a calmness that she was surprised with herself eve. She a woman who had suffered so much, she who had always been blown and shot and criticized for not making things useful of herself. She who without a doubt, had denied one of the more gentle men who she fell in love with in college.
But that changed, so did she, and she was glad about it. Because no man , not even Richard deserved a life who was only ruled by chaos. Now would come the brighter years , and maybe even the fickle battle of their families would end. Yes this , she dreamed with so much passion. But her attention should be at the present and at the man who was now accepting her in his home.

"How are you my darling"
Richard knew it would be best to keep his public and private lives well apart, but that didn't mean it would be easy. Although he wanted to be pleasant, particularly at this moment in time, he found it difficult to be with city politics still firmly at the forefront of his thoughts.
Not only this, but something else was beginning to eat away at him. He was the happiest he had been in years with Anne at his side and yet he still was unsure, even now, of his true feelings. Had he been lying to himself (and Anne) when he told her she had changed him? Was he truly capable of love?
He couldn't exactly reveal all his uncertainties to Anne however, and despite the fact it seemed clear she herself had changed and truly loved him, it was entirely possible that she too felt the same way, considering just what he'd done to try and win her hand.
Richard knew now, of all times, it was best to dwell on the present and not the past. Therefore, after a brief pause while he considered how best to answer the question, he turned to Anne and returned her smile, replying:
"I'm much better now that I'm with you."

He smiled, his eyes showing a depth of uncertainty. Did , she make a bad decision with loving him. Or was he just thinking about other things. She wanted to know the Richard who was in front of her, the man behind the curtain. Yet could she put herself through the endless task of finding this out. Feeling her body tense, she smiled and waited for his answer. Was she pressing him to much. But then again, she just wanted to see him smile. But then again, maybe she was over thinking to much.
They complimented each other. That was the truth ,and yet at the same time she wondered what went around his head. For a moment, she had caught doubt, but then with his cool smile and composed attitude set her to a new path. Then again when she heard that he was much better with her, she sighed and felt her eyes close. Her hands hugging his arm, she had not felt this secure in a while. She was always so lost, so dark , engulfed in darkness that was the truth of the matter. But not now, not ever again.
She had him, and he had her. All was well in the world for a minute.
