AWARD TIME!
First, some rules! 1) the same character cannot win the same award two months in a row (want to give others a chance, so keep that in mind when you make your nominations and voting. You can give that person acknowledgement of course in your post!)
2) Come the first week of July (or around there), we'll give out awards...which means the people who have awards now will have to give their siggies up so the new winners can feel special But dont worry, we'll have an archive of awards in our graphics section and you can keep a list of the awards you've won in your siggy.
Here's a reminder of the criteria Criteria for Male and Female of the Month: Should have many of these qualities -Active -Constantly contributing to the board and its members -Wonderful RPer (you can provide an excerpt of a post that demonstrates their wonderfulness) -Helpful and friendly Criteria for Couple/Duo of the Month: Should have many of these qualities -Excellent RPs together -Either have one or more of the following - Chemistry/Rivalry/Romance/Teamwork/Interesting dynamic or pairing -RPers work well together Criteria for Thread of the Month: Should have many of these qualities -Engaging, exciting, suspenseful and/or enjoyable to read -All characters demonstrate excellent RPing skills -A defining/memorable thread Please nominate who you think should win for each of these awards. Please copy and paste the code below. It is important that you explain WHY you nominate your choices! After a week or so, we'll take these nominations and create a poll with all of the nominees. All members can then vote for the nominee they think should win! So have fun, and nominate who you think should win! Even if you have to leave some categories blank ....oh and I forgot to mention... 5 points for every category you nominate someone for! The code is below:

I nominate: Sebastian "Timothy" MartinFor MALE OF THE MONTHI've been threading with Sebastian with different characters and his range in amazing! Beautifully played by Leffie who let James find a boyfriend and Jane a "BFF". Just a wonderful and diverse character. Honorable Mention: Richard Plantagenet Holly UrorFor FEMALE OF THE MONTHA new character from a great canon played by the incomperable Nessie! What more can I say? Night at the OperaFor THREAD OF THE MONTHJust...two dynamic characters! An amazing setting and two creative, talented writers. I nominate: Absol Papilio, Alyss Carol, and CHester LutwidgeFor COUPLE/DUO OF THE MONTHThe amazing and wacky cast of Alice and Wonderland together at last! Each character is wonderfully unique and quirky and yet they all work together perfectly. Honorable mentions: Holly and Sebastian

I nominate: James Moriarty EdwardsFor MALE OF THE MONTHBecause a) James is Sebastian's boyfriend, and if he were real he'd probably kill me for not nomming him, b) he's a freaking genius and completely amazingly fantastic, if that makes any sense, c) Kay is a goddess and should be praised for everything she does, and finally d).... Because he's got Colin Firth as his playby. Honorable Mention: Richard Plantagenet, because he didn't win the election, and he's doing a damn good job of not being scared by Erik, and that's very hard to do, considering Er-bear is one of the scariest people on here (yes I just called him Er-bear). Just goes to show Ricky is pretty badass himself! Holly UrorFor FEMALE OF THE MONTHI know she's a pretty brand new character, but Nessie's done a wonderful job with her so far, and I absolutely love her app. She totally deserves recognition also for being the first RPer to gain a fourth active character! GO NESSIE FOR BEING SO AMAZING! Honorable Mention: Jane Eyre. Again, Kay deserves to be praised once more. I wish I didn't have to decide between the two, but I figured I'm nomming Kay for male, and Nessie for female, then mentioning their other characters. So its a pretty fair trade off. And she makes Erik feel all special inside, or at least she will, since she's the only one who hadn't screamed bloody murder at him. She's also one of Seb's friends, and again, he'd kill me. That's What Friends Are ForFor THREAD OF THE MONTHThere was so much tension, disdain, and badassery in that thread that it was hard not to nominate it. Both characters seem to be at their finest, and I seriously love the bitter rivalry between them, especially with Richard having lost the election. And I found it extremely amusing that Hector bought Ricky a basket of muffins. Muffins totally make everything better, right? 83 Honorable Mention: Children of the Revolution. I really shouldn't nom a thread I'm in, so I'm giving it an Honorable Mention. But I just really like the way James handled Sebastian's little outburst (the outburst that coined the phrase Moby Dick) and the way the two interacted with each other. It was both very difficult and interesting, as I've never roleplayed Sebastian in this type of situation before, and the energy they had together was just so intense. Its almost like I can't even believe I was a part of it, especially since it went by so quickly. I nominate: Detective Phillippe Javert and Jane EyreFor COUPLE/DUO OF THE MONTHBecause they're totally the awkwardest couple/non-couple on RC right now. And they're so cute together! I also love what Jill and Kay have plotted together for the future, as their continuing story seems totally adorable, and I would love to see them together if it wasn't so non-canon for Javert, and the age difference. Honorable Mention: There are too many couples on RC to just give one honorable mention, so I'm just gonig to say all of them are fantastic! I can't wait to see where their relationships go!

I nominate: Richard PlantagenetFor MALE OF THE MONTHI think Nessie did a fantastic job handling his decent from power. And, really, I mean... it's Nessie. And I love her. He's been so active, and he's always so evil and awesome, and he scares people and ugh. I just love him. Also, I can never watch Lord of the Rings without thinking about him now. -.- Honorable mention: Hector Tormei, of course. Jane EyreFor FEMALE OF THE MONTHKay is doing a damn amazing job with her... and I never thought that Javvy would actually have, like, a friend. I mean dude. XD Also, the fact that she's hanging out with Erik gives him something to creep on at work, and we all know how much of a creeper he is. Well, not really. But kind of. ANYWAY, THIS IS ABOUT JANE. She's such a little cutie pie, and next to Kay's big boys, I don't know how she fits. Maybe because she's so small. JANE FTW. Honorable mention: Holly Uror. Just... whatisthisIdon'teven That's What Friends Are ForFor THREAD OF THE MONTHDo I even have to explain? I got chills. Hector Tormei and Richard PlantagenetFor COUPLE/DUO OF THE MONTHCan you tell I really like these two? Srsly, Izzi, get a hold of yourself.

Before I begin, I would just like to express how flattered I am for all the nominations I've received from you guys, especially for Holly since I'm still getting a feel for her character (my youngest character before her is 43, so I'm finding it a bit troublesome). Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are all amazing and I love each and every one of you.<3 Without further ado... I nominate:
Harry 'Hamlet' Chandler For MALE OF THE MONTH
Not only is Yols an absolutely amazing admin and a genuinely lovely person to boot, but she is also, as is to be expected, one heck of a roleplayer. My dear Claudius' favourite nephew is a fine example of this. In our current thread, The Very Witching Time of Night, his 'mad act' is conveyed perfectly through Yols' writing, and Harry's apparent confusion at times confused me. =P I'm always really excited to see a reply from Yols because I know that it will be well thought out, brilliantly detailed and well written.
Honourable Mention: His Scariness, Mr. (sorry, Mayor) Hector Tormei. I'm sure all of RC knows how Hector scares me in real life, but I want to acknowledge just how brilliantly Kay plays him. It never ceases to amaze me how Kay can play the terrifying Tormei and the timid Miss Eyre with equal conviction and finesse. Kay has skillz.
Penelope LaFontaine For FEMALE OF THE MONTH
Penelope is a brilliant character, brilliantly played by masterful Sisi (the fact she's a fellow redhead for Nessie doesn't hurt either =P). In all seriousness Penelope's interactions with Hector are brilliant; I love how she acts around him and others (such as Faustus and Claudius). She's got such spirit but she can be unsure of herself as well - Sisi plays these different aspects of Penelope's character to perfection. I also want to mention Katherine Minola, also played by Sisi - her interactions with Lady Catherine de Bourgh have me laughing out loud on occasion. =P
Honourable Mention: Jane Eyre. I think you can tell from what I said about Kay playing Hector how amazing Kay is, but I feel I must repeat myself a bit. XD JANE IS AN AMAZING CHARACTER PLAYED AMAZINGLY BY KAY. Her interactions with Lady Catherine are a joy to read, as are her meetings with Erik and Javert. (:
Children of The Revolution For THREAD OF THE MONTH
What can I say? Literary insults, amazing characters and the energy of this thread all culminated into a win of epic proportions. The way Sebastian and James played off of each other was brilliant to behold; I look forward to more from this pair!
Honourable Mention: Enchantment. Erik and Jane play off of each other surprisingly well, and I saw a side of Jane I don't think I've seen before. The tension between them when Erik got angry with Jane, contrasted with the quiet melancholy at the start of the thread...it was absolutely brilliant.
I nominate:
Hector Tormei & Penelope LaFonatine For COUPLE/DUO OF THE MONTH
Obviously these two were meant to be together, it being in canon and all, but even then I didn't expect things to play out the way they're playing out. I love how the pair interact, particularly Hector's protectiveness of Penny (thanks Claudius, you creep) and the fact she disapproves of the gesture yet still loves it. It's brilliant to see a side of Hector that doesn't scare me, and the fact Penny is still herself when she's around Hector and doesn't seem that scared of her...I admire the woman. =P
Honourable Mention: Sebastian 'Timothy'Martin & James Moriarty Edwards. They interacted so amazingly in Children of The Revolution and as their relationship has developed further in their latest thread. Both characters are played wonderfully, as is to be expected, and I love reading their posts. (:

(So all my picks and honorable mentions have been listed LOL *which is the reason why not many people have nominated I'm sure * But I will add my two cents for thread OTM. Last chance to nominate! so if your favorites haven't been mentioned, please do so before tomorrow! Remember, you get points for nominating). Having FlownFor THREAD OF THE MONTHHere's why! Okay this thread has been going on for a several months now but it is completed (I believe lol) now and I have to say that it was very enjoyable to read and participate in. I think it deserves some love - the interpretation of "The Raven" throughout the thread is so interesting to me! I love it And interactions between those three characters (Harry, B. Chase, and Jane) were very cool!

I nominate: VICTOR GRIFFITHSFor MALE OF THE MONTHHere's why! Before you even think it, it’s not bias. Izzi has been giving a lot of love to this stunning character here lately ( ) and we can all read through her equally stunning posts just how well she knows the source material. She’s made it so that the only face I can envision when I think of the real Jack the Ripper is Richard Armitage and that’s always a beautiful thing. As far as writing goes, she can write with the best of ‘em. She’s a deep thinker and she makes it known through the introspection she provides in her Victor posts. There are a lot of layers to him and that makes him such a complex character, one of the most complex characters we have on here. I, for one, always enjoy RPing with Victor. Izzi in general, really. He’s a character who deserves a helluva lot more recognition on this site. Like, yesterday. Honorable mentions: Richard Plantagenet. This character. I don’t know how much more beautifully crafted it could be. I tend to feel like I’m a bit unstable when I read him. I go from wanting to light his crotch on fire to wanting to bake him some consolatory muffins in a matter of minutes. That is the talent of Nessie, that gem of a writer. Erik Spectre. Well, this right here is how you write angst. Take notes. Beautifully done. OLIVIA ATHOSFor FEMALE OF THE MONTHHere's why! This is a fairly new character on our lovely site, but certainly one to watch out for. Her writing style is incredible and amazingly engaging. This girl has got a way with words, I tell ya’. She’s got a really descriptive style that allows us readers to become fully engrossed in the moment, envisioning it perfectly. Athos is a difficult character to capture, but Laz has done a stellar job. A strong female character with a no-nonsense attitude and layers to match. The fem in me would like to fistpump for that. Honorable mentions: Jane Eyre. Christ, I don’t shut up about this woman. I don’t intend to, by the way. Not until she’s given her fair due and probably not even then. She’s one of the most beautiful characters I’ve ever read. Juliet Capulet. My, she’s been getting around, hasn’t she? I admire her commitment to this site and how excited and willing she is to RP. EVERY BREATH YOU TAKEFor THREAD OF THE MONTHHere's why! Dudes. Jack the Ripper and Detective Athos. She’s investigating the Ripper case, searching for leads, and the Ripper is right in front of her, charming her delirious. Well, not exactly. Athos is strictly professional and the details that Laz adds to the conduct of the interview make this thread a very interesting read. A lot of realism to it. It’s delicious seeing how close she is to catching her killer and yet, because he’s one smooth bastard, so far away. They play off of each other extremely well. Kudos to both players. Honorable mentions: Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk. It’s still in its infancy, but it’s such an interesting read. It’s a very revealing thread, in all the ways that matter. Great job, guys. Tea Party. Snobs galore, you guys. Oh what ridiculous fun and there’s more to be had. I nominate: JAMES MORIARTY AND SEBASTIAN MARTINFor COUPLE/DUO OF THE MONTHHere's why! Unless you’ve been living under a rock the past month, you should be very aware of the fact that there’s been a takeover of the board with these two. Rightfully so. They have such an interesting dynamic and I feel a bit like a stalker with how I lurk their conversations and whatnot. This is definitely not your run-of-the-mill relationship here and that’s what makes it so stunning, aside from how beautifully written these characters are individually and more so together. Great chemistry. Kay and Lefferz are always plotting away too and that’s a great thing. *continues to stalk* Honorable mentions: Richard Plantagenet and Erik Spectre. The thread involving these two makes me all tingly. I’m pretty sure that’s a good thing. Great interactions between these two. Harry Chandler and Ophelia Knowles. Okay, so their thread still has a way to go, but it’s nice to see Harry in a different light. He’s gorgeous in whatever light, especially angsty, but it’s a change of pace and it’s welcome. Katiekat is taking to Ophelia well, I’d say. I look forward to more from them.^^
