new character for Katie...HELP?

Okay, so I'm almost completely sure I'm gonna drop Mary Morstan. We don't really have a Watson anymore and I've lost muse for her. So these are some ideas for a replacement for me (if you have any ideas of characters I could be good at, let me know).

Option 1:

Lady Thomasina Coverly
from Arcadia by Tom Stoppard



Thomasina is the daughter of Lord Coverly and Lady Crooms. She is seen in the play at age 13 and just about to turn 17, the play ends in the wee hours of her 17th birthday, before she is killed by a fire in her bedroom (I would not have her killed, though XD). I would play her at 17. Since before the play begins, she has been tutored by Septimus Hodge and now she's in love with him. At first, they were very teacher-pupil but things get more complicated as she becomes older. Things are all right when she's 13 but when you see her at 17, Thom has already kissed her own tutor and he does kiss her on his own free will while teaching her to waltz for her 17th birthday. There are conflicting feelings for Thom because she loves Septimus...but she also has feelings for Lord Byron (yes, THE Lord Byron) who was an (unseen) guest in her house. If I play Thom here, someone would probilly have to be the "Lord Byron" because if she was in love with Lord Byron...that'd just be weird XD She is too clever for her own good and is said to be by every character in the play. Valentine Coverly, a present day character, reluctantly comes to acknowledge Thomasina's genius after looking at some of her papers. She understands concepts that weren't even discovered in her time but she doesn't care a whit about them for the most part. She just likes girly things like learning how to waltz (especially with Septimus, who is actually in love with her too).

She would be portrayed by Bel Powley, who plays Thomasina in the 2011 Broadway Revival.

Princess Ariel Triton
from The Little Mermaid



Yes, yes laugh all you want. The Little Mermaid/Ariel are nicknames of mine here at school but I can play her XD She's spunky, giggly and likes to have fun XD She's always giggling and is talking excitedly or singing all the time. She loves to sing more than anything...except Prince Eric she's fun and just plain silly.
I'd play her more from the musical than anything...just saying...

She would be played by Molly Quinn, from the ABC series Castle....with Sierra Boggess for the mermaid pics, since Molly's never played a mermaid XD

A Rent OC



Sammeh already knows I have her and we've done some things in PM with her and her big brother...well, half-brother. I'm rusty with her but I thought I'd put her down.

She would be played by Amanda Seyfried

So what do you guys think? I'm leaning towards Thomasina (because I ADORE Arcadia!!!) but would you guys wanna RP with her? and would someone maybe wanna be her "Lord Byron"? Oh and would someone take up Septimus? She'd DESPERATELY need Septimus...of obvious reasons

Thoughts? Help is GREATLY needed and appreciated!!! If you wanna know more about any character, especially Thomasina, since she's from like a play which idk how well known it is outside of theater circles XD, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help ^_^

Well we've put a hold on adding new canons to the canon list for now - plus Arcadia, if you're talking about the play, was made in 1993. Unlike the Phantom, RENT, and Les Miserables, there are no earlier adaptations of it, if I'm not mistaken. The Little Mermaid classifies as a fairytale which is not something we have here at RC.

So that being said I think having an OC Rent character would be pretty cool!

Arcadia, according to what I've read in my school library (...I go to performing arts school but we have a LOT of info on source materal), was based on myths and stories from Ancient Greece. ...It's hard to explain but it DOES make sense a bit to me after reading it and, especially, after seeing it...but I never studied the myths and such...my high school was a fail. -_- Also, I read a lot of the Arcadia reviews, which are currently only from the Original Broadway Cast and the Original and Revival London casts (...it hasn't opened yet, the Broadway revival XD), and they call it a classic...every..single...review. I was hoping for some variation but gone none XD I was laughing after the fifth one mentioned the word "Classic" XD but yeah, according to the articles I've read, the story DID exist before Arcadia was produced (in London in 1993 and in New York in 1995) but they were in MANY pieces. Tom Stoppard just found the right thread and piece everything together and made names easier to say XD I've heard of other people trying to bring the elements together but no one could get it to work like Mr. Stoppard could XD

Oh...they said at my school TLM is a folk tale or something, not a fairy tale XD Maybe I'm just confused now XD

Idk if I can play Carson anymore...I wanted to put down three possible characters and she just came to mind and I haven't played her in like four years. She was my first OC RP character (and the one who's been through the most name changes....Vanessa, Hannah, Amy, Cristina "Crissy", back to Vanessa and Hannah before finally becoming Carson XD)...also that last question on the app I could NEVER figure out a legit answer...and she'll probably just go into limbo like Mary and I'd be back at square one...

It really sucks about the whole thing...idk what to do now...maybe I'll just keep two characters, since I can't play Carson anymore... and I don't believe in playing characters I'm not passionate about, in RP or theater and, honestly, out of those three, Thomasina was the only one I was truly passionate about bring here (I could actually see her being friends with Ponyboy XD They are SO similar it's kinda scary)....but I REALLY wanna take on another....

Just out of curiousity, what's the time frame it has to be to be a classic on here? I'm confused by theater school and here and everything XD Theater school says everything pre-1970 with some exceptions, like Arcadia and That Championship Season (both of which are having Broadway revivals this year, oddly enough XD) but yeah, I'm MAJORLY confused on that factor since I've been told SO many things in the past year about it XD

Yes pre 1970 for us, and we really haven't made any exceptions for that, sorry. I'd say hold off on another character in this case then, since we've put a hold on adding any new canons. Sorry about this!
