Mayor Tormei has given a speech, accepting not only his position but also explaining his policies that have been put in place. Mayor Tormei says that he wishes to work with the former Mayor Plantagenet on future legislation. A staff member reported it was because "Mayor Tormei greatly respects Richard Plantagenet and recognizes all he could bring to the table. Mayor Tormei is dedicated to doing what is best for the city and feels that [Richard] Plantagenet's input would be of great use."
Tormei also explained some of his policies that have been criticized by local political correspondents. Tormei claims that legalizing concealed weapons and prostitution would garner large amounts of tax revenue. After contacting Tormei's financial advisors, we've discovered the exact numer to be over $10 million between the two policies.
Tormei also detailed his legistlations plan to donate on a regular basis. The New York Times is gathering a list of potential reciepients (feel free to post any suggestions here!) and would like to hear from its readers. There will be follow up stories on how people have used the charity to help the community.
