Cherry eyes trailed over and over the blank page in front of her, her assignment for English was to write a short story. On normal circumstances she would be able to whip out a story in twenty minutes but today her mind seemed to be traveling elsewhere. It didn’t matter where she put herself she just couldn’t concentrate! She reached for the glass in front of her and took a long sip from her soda, if she could just find a plot of some sort, anything. Anything!
With a groan she let her head fall atop the page, she was going to fail that was for sure. Well, if she couldn’t get anything out of her day other than staring at a blank page why didn’t she just enjoy what was left of her afternoon and evening? Cherry ran her fingers through her red hair before lifting her head off the page and drawing circles in her notebook filling them with little smiley faces. It was a bit entertaining.
The redhead turned her chair around to face the small stage in the room, she wondered lightly if anyone would come out and play. If they didn’t then maybe she would find muse or something between the objects that were placed up there. It was the perfect scene for something but-Cherry decided to just forget about her project for a little and reached behind her for her Coke. Once again, she placed her lips to the straw and took a sip, just waiting.

((ooc: song is "White Blank Page" by Mumford and Sons. CLICK HERE!)) Can you lie next to her and give her your heart, your heart as well as your body And can you lie next to her and confess your love, your love as well as your folly And can you kneel before the king and say I'm clean, I'm cleanThe stage was empty, save for one man who sat indian-style on the stool, plucking at a old, worn guitar. The Life wasn't busy by any means, something for which Roger was thankful; usually, if it was busy, the staff would usher him off the stage, shooing him and telling him that they didn't need any distractions. Roger needed distractions from his own thoughts. It was something that the staff never knew or understood. Eyes watched the strings of his guitar, fingers traveling over them as the words, almost idly, came out from his mouth. But tell me now, where was my fault In loving you with all my heart Oh tell me now, where was my fault In loving you with all my heartNo one was paying attention, and hell, he wasn't even paying attention himself until his eyes found a girl, red-haired and wide, and instantly, his throat tightened as memories came back. April smiling as she looked up at him on the stage. The way she laughed at the bar when he told a stupid joke and the way she turned her head as he leaned in to kiss her, only to launch herself into his arm, pressing her lips almost desperatly to his in the middle of the Loft's living room. A white blank page and swelling rage, rage You did not think when you sent me to the brake, the brake You desired my affections but denied my affections, my affections Lead me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole life Leave me to the truth and I will follow you with my whole lifeHe wanted to run. He wanted to simply run away, because it was almost a carbon copy of April sitting in the Life. Some of the random patrons clapped as he finished, and he moved, setting the guitar down in it's stand before walking to where Cherry sat. " Hi."

Cherry was in awe of the man up on the stage, he seemed so relaxed in what he was doing. Like he was in his element. She only wished she could be like that when she wrote, or maybe she was but she didn’t realize it. When his song was over Cherry began to clap before she was hit with a bit of inspiration and turned around to face the notebook again. Her story would be about a man who was trying to find his passion in life, trying everything in his way before he found that it was singing.
She picked up her pencil and began to plan her story. The setting, the characters, everything she would need to make this short story perfect. Her eyes trailed up from the page when she heard a voice, was the person speaking to her? Sure enough, the man that had been up on the stage(the source of her inspiration) was speaking to her, Cherry felt her cheeks heat up slightly.
”Hello,” she responded, ”you just sang didn’t you? You were very good up there.” Cherry told him

He had been a different person back then. Back then, he would have walked up, slid into the booth across from her, lit up a cigarette and told her that yes, yes, he had been singing up there. When he had been singing up there, he would have told her, he had looked at her and instantly knew that he had needed to come over and talk to her.
He hadn't been as smooth as he could have been that night, but everything seemed to click. Which was why this night felt like a strange sort of deja vu. She even looked like her.
"I tried." he stated, though as he saw the hint of red flush onto her pale cheeks, Roger felt the smile widen slightly. "Well, I wasn't...was I really good?"" It had been a long time since anyone had told him he had been good. Anyone besides Mimi or Mark or any of the Bohemians who, he figured, had a slight bias. He wasn't sure how long he had been staring, and he blinked, shaking his head slightly.
"I'm sorry, you just...really look like someone I used to know."

Cherry’s eyes widened, “You tried? Then I would love to see what you can really do. That was amazing! Better than anything I could do. Probably one of the best performances I’ve seen.” she smiled at him before taking another sip of her Coke. ”You are very talented, mister…” the redhead trailed off, realizing she didn’t know his last name let alone his first name. Well now that was bad on her behalf, giving someone a comment and not even able to do it properly.
This was nice. Just talking to someone without having to worry about a Soc seeing you or a Greaser seeing you talking with one of their people. God, Cherry hated that, it was just…inconvenient and not needed! Why couldn’t the world just get along together for one day? That was all she asked, once day where Socs and Greasers didn’t try to kill each other. Though, that was a lot to ask for.
Her eyes trailed back to the notebook on the table and she set her pencil down, it was rude to write in the company of another. Well that and it would be a bit embarrassing for the man she had just met to see that she was writing a story that was based upon the scene she had just watched upon the stage.
When he spoke the girl turned her head and then turned the rest of her body towards him. ”I do?” she asked, well, she had certainly never heard that before. ”By the way, I’m Sherri Valance, but everyone calls me Cherry because of my hair.” she twirled a the red locks between her fingers.

That was amazing. Better than anything I could do. Probably one of the best performances I've seen.
April had told him, that next morning as they laid in bed that he had been the best singer she had ever seen. Roger remembered turning over onto his side, looking down at her with a smile.
"I'm sure you say that to all the boys."
The words left his lips before he could stop them, an echo to what he had told April the morning after. When she trailed off, hearing her fish for his name, Roger smiled slightly. "Davis. Roger Davis, but um, no Mister, okay? Makes me feel old."
When she turned to him, telling her his name, Roger paused. "Cherry." he tasted the word on his tongue. "I like that." he told her with a nod, but the frown slipped slightly as he saw the notepad.
"I'm sorry, if I interrupted you."
