Tag: Hector Despite the fact that Hector had left their particular group, Claudius had been looking out for him, if only to see how he was getting on with the campaigning. Things took a turn for the worse, it seemed, when Richard Plantagenet had made an appearance, but then to Claudius' surprise Hector had curtailed his conversation with the Mayor and instead walked off with 'that brat from the chat site'. To say the CEO of Hamlet Enterprises was intruiged (if not amused) by this would be an understatement, but he didn't make this obvious as he continued to converse with those around him. However, as Hector re-appeared (with Penelope having entered before him) he excused himself, polite as ever, from those he was talking with and made his way over. "What was all that about, Hector, if you don't mind my asking?" he said with a grin, although he guessed Hector most likely would mind. Ah well, they were friends, he could deal with Claudius' good natured jests certainly. "I thought you were meant to be on the campaign trail, not the love train." In retrospect this was a pretty foolish thing to say, but Claudius wasn't about to pass up the oppurtunity for a bit of a luagh, even if it was at Hector's expense.

Tag: Claudius Hector sighed when Claudius approached him, a smirk on his face. Hector knew Claudius well enough to know that a smirk never meant well for the person on the recieving end. Hector bristled at the question, also knowing that Claudius asked it just to bother him. " I simply had to inform her of proper decorum for the evening. She's just a child, after all. She doesn't know any better," Hector answered, nonchalant and flippant. I thought you were meant to be on the campaign trail, not the love trainA muscle in Hector's jaw twitched at the comment. Of course Claudius would ask that. Hector rolled his eyes. "Really, Claudius. Don't be absurd," That was an insane idea. First of all, Penelope LaFontaine was just a child. Secondly, she annoyed him to no end. Hector told Claudius these things and changed the subject of the conversation smoothly. "I'm glad you've made it tonight Claudius. I'm a bit surprised that Richard showed up though, aren't you?"

Tag: Hector "I simply had to inform her of proper decorum for the evening. She's just a child, after all. She doesn't know any better,""She doesn't look much like a child to me," Claudius replied with a laugh. Having said this he drank a little more of the champagne in his glass, though he nearly choked at Hector's reaction to his little joke. His reactions always were the best, and he was relatively safe to try them on, all things considered. "Really, Claudius. Don't be absurd,"The CEO laughed again at this, more heartily to cover up his narrowly avoided choking on the champagne (not typical Claudius Chandler behaviour). As Hector went on with his explanation Claudius nodded, though with one eyebrow raised as though to suggest he didn't believe a word. And he didn't, really. Didn't want to. This was just too amusing. "I'm glad you've made it tonight Claudius. I'm a bit surprised that Richard showed up though, aren't you?""Hey, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to see my old pal, now would I?" Claudius replied in answer to Hector's salutation."I'm telling you, my workload's been mounting as of late. But I digress. It was a bit of a surprise to see him, I must say. Though I know why he's here, you clever man, you." This said, Claudius gave Hector a friendly punch on the shoulder with his free hand. Again, probably not the wisest of moves considering who Hector was, but Claudius was having fun at any rate.

She started to turn around to Faustus, her eyes quirking as she looked at the couple leave. A sigh escaped her as she did not get to say what she wanted to say. But oh well, at least someone was going to get their money spent tonight. Turning toward James , she smiled and she started to see that they were finally alone. " So James.. Shall we get the hell out of here. Or would you like to use reeds card to buy something special.
Unless you want to give it to him " she started to say, her tongue clicking as she was highly amused by the situation. Yet again, she could not fess up the courage to actually produce something sensible. In the end, well that was what it was good for she guessed. She meant the silence, it was more easier to actually not have to look at someone and tell them the truth .
She had done it before, so why not now. Then again, she was in company with a man who she liked, and who she craved with an undesirable nature. No wonder she was actually with a smile on this venue. She guessed it was because there was something to be jolly about. In the end , guess the event was not so bad as she thought.

Tag: Claudius When Claudius punched Hector's shoulder, Hector leveled him a dark look. He did not like being touched, even by his close friend. Of course Claudius understood why Richard was there, he was just as conniving as Hector was. But for him to openly acknowledge it was sloppy and very unlike Claudius. "How much have you had to drink?" Hector eyed Claudius's drink with distaste. He was acting quite recklessly for someone who always seemed to have control over the situation. A drunk Claudius, while greatly amusing, was not something that Hector particularly wanted to deal with at the moment. Because he was funding this soiree, Hector would be responsible for any damage and a drunk businessman could cause more than his fair share of damage. Hector looked around his guests, seeing many influential faces and some that he had wished he hadn't invited. He spotted Irene Adler next to Faustus and he practically felt his skin crawl with disgust. He couldn't stand either of them.

Tag: Hector The look Hector shot Claudius, metaphorically, would have been enough to sober him up. But as things stood it seemed as though, for once, Claudius' ability to hold his drink was failing him. It was probably the possibility of Hector's becoming Mayor and he, Claudius, getting a lot out of it, that made him feel in a celebratory mood. "How much have you had to drink?""Quite a bit, I should think," Claudius replied, with as much nonchalance as he could muster after that last particularly frightening glare of Hector's. "But can you blame me? This is one great party you're hosting." So saying Claudius took another sip from his glass before observing the rest of the party as Hector was doing. "It must've cost you an arm and a leg to get this place sorted," the CEO commented off-handedly.

Tag: Claudius "Luckily for me, I had a spare arm and a leg that I could offer up," Hector retorted dryly. He had plenty of money to fund the entire party, as well as the whole campaign, no questions asked. All of his associates could have easily funded him, but he wanted support from the public and was open to public donations. It would be easier to get support that way. "I had to pull out all the stops. I am running against an incumbent," Hector tilted his head in the direction of Richard. "It's very hard to unseat one, even one as unpopular as Richard," An uphill battle, but a worthy one. The benefits outweighed the cost in every aspect. His relationship with Richard made it all that more interesting. Being past business partners and part time friends had made his decision to run an odd one. On one hand, it involved pushing away an old friend, but on the other hand, it ensured a secure future.

Tag: Hector "Luckily for me, I had a spare arm and a leg that I could offer up,"Claudius chuckled again at Hector's words; either it was the alcohol or he was on especially good form tonight. "You're funny," he said, his laughter having subsided. He took another sip from his glass, now sadly almost empty. He considered getting it topped up but reasoned Hector wouldn't appreciate it. As tipsy as he was, Claudius wanted to stay in Hector's good books...despite the fact he was probably already a little way out of them. "I had to pull out all the stops. I am running against an incumbent. It's very hard to unseat one, even one as unpopular as Richard,""Uh huh," Claudius replied, looking from Richard to Hector and back again. "Is it really that hard though, if the guy's as unpopular as you say? It's not as though his brother was up to much either. I reckon people want a change, and that's just what you'll give 'em. You're better looking, for starters."

"Ah but name recognition has plenty of power," Hector sat his empty champagne flute on a passing waiter's tray. "Most people don't take time to really look into politics and go with what they know. They know Richard," Hector shrugged.
"Tell me, have you looked at any of the exhibits?" Hector had been able to look around when he was organizing the set up. There were quite a few interesting pieces in the museum, some of them masterpieces and some of them odd.
Hector motioned for Claudius to follow him and he began to make his way to the art hung on the walls. There were fewer people in this area, meaning more space to talk.

"That makes a lot of sense, unfortunately for you." "Tell me, have you looked at any of the exhibits?""I'm afraid not," Claudius replied, falling into step beside Hector as he walked. Then, in a more surprised tone: "I didn't think of you as being an arty type."

James smiled at the couple as they walked away. He was certain they'd meet again, even if its just Faustus ringing up Reed for his legal troubles. Faustus turned to Irene when she said his name and furrowed his brow when she mentioned buying something with his card. It only took a split second for him to realize what that meant and he grinned his usual bright grin. "Oh no you didn't," He laughed a bit as he put an arm around her waist. "Girl, you are a trip," He led her further into the party, and very deliberately away from Richard. Not that he was avoiding him or anything. He thought it was just better for the sake of this event that he didn't punch anyone in the face tonight. Repeatedly. Because that would cause a scene, wouldn't it. Unfortunately, Faustus had a feeling he had been spotted. But if Richard knew what was best for him, he'd stay the hell away. He led the way to the hors d'œuvres table and perused his options. "You really stole Reed's card? Just like that? Damn girl, I can't take you no where without you snatchin' up somethin'- what's wrong with you?" He teased, half joking. There was a fruit display and Faustus picked up a strawberry and ate one. "Oooo wee, what is it about rich folks makin' normal food seem like it was genetically altered to taste a hell of a lot better?" He held out a strawberry for Irene to eat, but his expression was suggestive. "You like strawberries?" (OOC Nes, i dunno if richard is still in this thread but if you want something to do with him, I set that up for ya )

Tag: Faustus Richard had managed to occupy himself since Hector's dissapearance by conversing with some of the people around him, most of whom, he was able to deduce, had come for the party rather than the politics. That wasn't to say this made the evening more enjoyable; to be perfectly honest, despite the fact attended put him in a better light than he would have been had he not done so, the mayor was beginning to regret making an appearance. It was as he was contemplating how best to make an exit without drawing much attention (and potentially damaging the already bruised reputation he'd come to protect) that Richard spotted Doctor James Faustus. It wasn't as though he and Faustus had parted on the best of terms (an understatement if ever there was one) and yet seeing the doctor improved Richard's mood somewhat. Perhaps he was being given another chance here; after all he'd been unable to even tell Faustus his plan before being cut off the last time they spoke. In retrospect Richard should have known even to go near Faustus would be a bad idea; it was obvious even to an unobservant eye that the doctor was avoiding him. But he decided to do so anyway, if only to try and get something out of the evening. Plantagenet approached the hors d'œuvres table where Faustus stood, on the pretext of getting himself a drink. Having procured one, as though to make the act all the more real even to himself, he made his way to within talking distance of the doctor. "What an unexpected pleasure to see you again, Doctor," he said, a small smile on his face, all cordiality. If he'd known just how Faustus felt perhaps he wouldn't have been so confident. ooc: Thanks very much Yols m'dear. (:

She started to stare at Faustus, his hand resting on her waist as she was pulled away. “I actually did not steal it right now. I have had it for a few months, I left him tied in his own bed. It was a very high and sexual and wild night “ she started to say, her finger traced his chest as she bit of the strawberry. Her body moving close as she stepped slightly back when she heard the man who was the mayor. Turning her head she started to stare at the fellow and started to look at Faustus. Her body moving away as she pried her fingers carefully over some more strawberries and started to shift her body away. Her eyes falling on all the food as she started to see a waiter serve some champagne.
Her body moving away as she did not want to disturb any conversation with the current mayor and the doctor. Anyways , she could find him later after his little tiff. But did the good doctor want her to stay, did he need to have some company because of the situation. She stayed there and started to grab a flute of champagne and acted like if she was just a mirror in the wall. Yes she knew that maybe it was not the most appropriate. Then again what did she care about propriety. I mean she had her faults, but she was enjoying her time with Faustus plenty. She was also just about ready to pull a streaking move on the mayors party. If Faustus did not want that to happen , he better get his words set straight and his ass moving.

"I actually did not steal it right now. I have had it for a few months, I left him tied in his own bed. It was a very high and sexual and wild night “
Faustus bit his bottom lip when she, in a very sexy way, bit from the strawberry. Did it make him a little jealous that she had her way with another guy and was boasting about it? ...maybe. Probably.
Okay his ego was stung a little. But that was what round 2 was for - and round 3 - and round 4 and...dammit he was ready to jump her in about a few seconds and make her forget all about Reed. Best believe that Reed had nothing on him. "Girl you better quit playin', or I'mma tie you up once we get out of--"
"What an unexpected pleasure to see you again, Doctor,"
Faustus' brow knitted at the sound of that voice. "Oh hell no," he huffed as he turned around. "Yeah, enjoy that 'cause the pleasure is only yours, you know that right?" He noticed that Irene had grabbed champagne and waited for him, and he knew if he didn't get the hell up out of here, he'd lose his opportunity to one-up Reed - so he decided to make this quick. "Man, you ain't got nothin' to say to me. I ain't got nothin' to say to you. So why don't you run along and enjoy your last moments as mayor 'cause you are so gonna lose. And I don't even have to let this whole place know your ass should be locked up for life."
He turned to Irene, a hooked his arm with hers. "So if you excuse us -"

Richard heard Faustus' muttering and came to the conclusion (albeit too late) that this had been a bad idea. As the doctor turned to face him, however, Richard did not move away but instead listened to his speech with surprising calm.
"Man, you ain't got nothin' to say to me. I ain't got nothin' to say to you. So why don't you run along and enjoy your last moments as mayor 'cause you are so gonna lose. And I don't even have to let this whole place know your ass should be locked up for life."
Plantagenet couldn't help but laugh a little at Faustus' childish taunts. However, despite the fact now would be the best (and possibly last) oppurtunity he would have to discuss his plans with Faustus, Richard seemed to have sensed that enough was enough - for all his persuasive prowess he got the distinct impression he wouldn't be able to talk to the good doctor round, especially if he wasn't prepared to listen. That and there was always the possibilty they might be overheard, and he were to antagonize the doctor further, who knew what he might say?
But then Richard stopped himself. Who was he to give up, just like that? The doctor would be more difficult to persuade than most, that was true, but Richard was up for the challenge considering the end goal he had in mind.
"So if you excuse us -"
As the doctor made as though to leave, Richard took a step towards him, not in a threatening manner as such but in a way that indicated he wasn't through with Faustus yet.
"If you would wait just a few moments, Doctor-" he began.
ooc: I presume Faustus would cut him off before he said anything else. XD If not I can edit. (:
