"Ladies and gentlemen, I stand before you humbled by the out-pouring of support I've recieved. I thank you for every vote cast in my name as well as every vote cast for Richard Plantagenet. He was a worthy opponent and will be consulted for future policies, his mind will not be wasted. Even though I was running against him, I was more than aware of his political prowess and would very much like to include him in the legislative process.
As many of you have noticed by now, I've already implemented some policies, all of which are designed to help this fine city. My goal is to crack down on crime, make the city a safer place to live. New York City offers more than any other city in the world and I want its citizens to feel comfortable enough to take advantage of that. New York is the city of opportunity, it has been the first stop of many a weary traveller and many have settled here to make it. That's why this city is such a melting pot of cultures, religions, and talents. It's why we're so great, New York is a behemouth of power and potential and I want to help every inhabitant to harness that power.
Some of the policies are controversial I realize. Carrying a concealed weapon and legalized prostitution being the two that have attracted the most attention. I've made it legal to carry a concealed weapon with the thought that the weapon cartels will die down. People are now able to go through the government for a gun rather than an illegal source. This will bring tax revenue to the city as well as safer streets. As for the prostitution, it will also bring in an enormous amount of tax revenue and will serve to clean up the streets. Prostitution has been one of New York's largest businesses for a long time and now that it is being taxed, it will bring in over $3.5 million in tax revenue. All of this money brought in by these two policies will be used to improve the streets of New York and its infrastructure.
Not all of my plans have been put into policy because I wanted to make sure that they survived long past my term. The community gardens I talked about during the campaign are being worked on right now with independent groups who have pledged to keep the garden's alive and intrinsic to the community. These businesses have already made contacts within the parole offices and local schools to make sure that the gardens will be put to good use.
As an extra part of my service, I am donating money to several deserving causes. From my own pocket I will be giving money to all schools within the city limits, animal shelters, food kitchens and half-way homes, and other non-profit organizations. I encourage you to write in to my staff with suggestions for more donation opportunities that my legislation will give you. I also encourage you to write into my office with any questions, suggestions, or concerns you may have. It is your participation that this country's government was built, it was your participation that elected myself, and it will be your participation that will make this run a successful one.
Thank you all again and may God bless the United States of America."
