Normally, Damien hated the heat. In fact, he detested it. But even he could appreciate a day of laying out on the beach, tanning away with nothing but his thoughts and the radio to occupy him. It was peaceful, even, though the hyena like laughter issuing from hormonal teenagers around the shore bugged him. He'd ignore them, though, as he was just like them, once. Though not nearly has happy, at least not in his childhood.
No no, there would be no thoughts of that. Just peace, relaxation, a can of beer, and shades perched on top of his head. The only thing he needed now was a hot babe to join him in his "sun bathing," as he could particularly use a nice girl's company. Maybe to get his mind of Dahlia and the nagging feeling in the pit of his stomach that she might possibly love him back one day. No, we couldn't have that, now could we?
If she ever loved him back, she'd always be in danger. He was the son of a mob boss, after all. He'd been targated before, but who was to say that assassins wouldn't target those closest to him? No, his love for Dahlia would have to be one sided. Forever, if need be. As long as she was his friend, he would be content.
Like he was now, sipping on his beer and listening to whatever mindless trash issued from the speaker next to him or from the mouths of the young yelling around him.

Mona loved the beach, she didn't get to come often enough due to all her activities, but when she did come she enjoined it deeply. The warmth and heat always made her feel warm on the inside, and let her for a short time feel like the cold would never reach her again. She knew it wasn't true , but for a short time she could believe it. Today was her day to be free of everything and she would believe anything she liked, even the impossible.
Mona looked around the beach and frowned behind her stylish sunglasses. It was filled with teenagers who were talking completely too loud and eying her up and down. Mona couldn't blame them for looking, even she, who had low self esteem, though she looked good. She wore a light blue two piece bathing suit, It looked nice and showed off her curves, but kept the important stuff covered. She scanned the beach and smiled when she came upon a spot next to a sunbathing man.
Mona walked over the the spot and set up her stuff. She did it in a quick efficient fashion so she didn't bother the man next to her. She laid down on her long beach towel with her face up toward the sun. She sighed happily as the sun beat down on her. She reached into her bag and pulled out a book to read.
Mona laid there reading her book while listening to the radio that the man had playing. She smiled and hummed along with the song that played while she read her book. It was her pick of the week, Sense and Sensibility . She had read the book so many times but she absolutely loved it. She could talk about it with anyone, even someone she didn't know. She had a smile on her face as she read in the sun.

Damien hadn't noticed the girl until she had started humming, his eyes closed mostly to block the strenuous heat of the sun and to possibly attract a woman who might like a guy who isn't trying to impress them with his beach partying skills. He was rather fit, so he doubted he'd have trouble finding someone on this beach. They just had to come and find him however, because his position was far to valuable to relinquish here in this wonderful spot on the sand.
When he HAD noticed the female next to him, he picked up his head slightly, tipping up his sunglasses so that he could look at her properly. She was sprawled out on a blanket, reading the typical chick novel and humming along to this mindless song. But God was she hot doing it.
He'd always been attracted to darker men and women. He didn't know why, but her unique beauty, perhaps a mix of asian and black, was just captivating to him. Her skin was perfectly smooth, and her hair soft and dark, cascading like poison around her head. Perfect, just perfect.
He couldn't help staring at her, and didn't honestly cared if she saw him. She was a thing to be admired, and he would stare to his hearts content. He plastered his typical cocky grin all over his face, his head tilted to the side as he slid his glasses off his head to bite down at the plastic tip, his appearence every bit the predator that he was.
He'd found his prey.

Mona sighed as she finished her book and set it down beside her. She let her eyes close as the sun beat down on her. She stretched and pulled her arms above her head to loosen the tightness in them. Her toes dug in the sand and warmed her feet. She ignored all of the other sounds on the beach but the sound of the waves and the radio. All the other teenagers there just looking for a place to have exciting sex, or pick up girls, they were all gone in her mind. Just her, the waves and the sand. Mona opened her eyes and saw a man staring at her. A really Hot man1
Mona was lesbian, she knew this for a fact, but that didn't mean she didn't notice a hot guy when she saw them. Mona looked him up and down with her eyes. He was the type of guy that Lo would go after. Tall, Good looking, and incredible ripped. Mona knew that if she had been straight she would of gone after him. Hell if Mona would of been bi she would of gone after him, but she knew that she was only sexually attracted by girls, no matter how sexy the guy was.
Mona noticed that he was looking at her too and had the urge to cover her body up with something. She resisted but barely, she shouldn't care if he looked at her. she should of been used to it already, people stared at her all the time. But Mona couldn't help that self conscious thought that always floated through her mind. She quickly closed her eyes again and took a deep breathe. It shouldn't matter if her looked at her or not, it's not like she was going to ever be in a relationship with him. She had never been with a guy before, so there was no chance in that happening.
Mona let out a sigh of relief before letting a small satisfied smirk. If wanted to look at her then let him, it was his own choice. She didn't care at all what he did. In fact it made her feel better about herself. With that thought she turned her face to the side, keeping her eyes closed, and buried her face against the soft silkiness of her midnight black hair.
