outfitMeg had danced all morning. She'd gotten to the ballet at about 8 am and after her warm up at the bar, the director had her go straight in to costume for Juliet. The costume they put her in, that they had ready for her, was hot and heavy and on the warm spring day they were having, she was not comfortable. They pulled her long blonde ringlets back at the sides and made them poof a bit. She felt like she looked stupid but she knew it was for her art so she knew she's suffer through it. She loved her curls and she was so glad they didn't make her pull them all the way back. She looked like a perfect Juliet with her pale skin, lips painted a ruby red and with her period costume. Her French looks suited the part. However, she didn't feel pretty. She never did. Maybe it was just the ballet rat in her but she just didn't. She didn't even know she was not pretty, she was a beautiful girl. Miss Giry danced all morning straight and then, with the rest of her cast, breaked for lunch. They had a quick lunch and then went right back to rehearsing. She kept going until almost four o'clock. "Meg," the director said to her, "Why don't you take a break? Go outside and get some fresh air. You've been in here all day." "All right." Meg said and went off to her dressing room. After swapping Juliet's dress for her own floral sundress and her pointe shoes for simple off white ballet flats, she headed outside. It was so warm and sunny that day, Meg couldn't help but smile. Meg loved the warmth. In Paris, she loved it when it rained but in New York, she'd rather a sunny day anyday. She sighed happily as she went over and sat on the edge of the large fountain in the middle of Lincoln Center, just across from the ballet. The sun was warm on her face and that made her smile. With her blonde ringlets shining in the sunshine, Meg Giry was beautiful, almost angelic, but she didn't know or believe it. Her mind traveled to other places as she sat there. She could only think about Sodapop Curtis, who she'd met recently, because she was friends with Ponyboy, his younger brother. He was certainly was handsome. She'd never had a guy she couldn't get off her mind. Was that even normal? Meg Giry had NO idea. ((sorry this took so long to get up but here it is!!! <3 ))

(I apologize for how long it took me to post!) Soda hadn't known Meg for all that long, but already he found it hard to stop grinning like an idiot whenever he was around her. She was nice, real nice, and she's got a smile lights up her face in a way that makes her eyes dance. He'd talked to her a few times when she was hanging around the house or something, and she always ended up making him laugh. He really liked that about her. That, her eyes that are always full of laughter and compassion, and the way her amount of energy matches his own. Her smile has never once failed to make him smile back. They met through Ponyboy, and so after Ponyboy assured him he only liked her as a friend, he decided that it was worth a shot to ask her to a movie, or to go for a bite to eat after her rehearsal, or something. He didn't know if he liked him back or what, but he was beginning to think that she did and so he'd decided that it wouldn't hurt to find out for sure. He went home from work, took a shower, and changed into some clean clothes before making his way down to the ballet he knew she rehearsed at on a daily basis. He admired her dedication to her dancing, and it was really easy to see how much she loved it and how passionate she was about it. It didn't take him too long to get to her ballet. He'd been about to go inside when he noticed her across the way, at the fountain in front of the Lincoln Center. He made his way over to her, already smiling. "Hey Meg!" He greeted brightly, his grin widening.

Meg couldn't get Sodapop Curtis off her mind. He was just some guy, right? Somehow, Meg didn't think so. He was different from any guy she'd ever met back in Paris. Of course, she didn't meet many back there besides the actors and the managers....and Monsieur Bouquet. The actors didn't associate with the "ballet rats", the managers were two older men and Joseph Bouquet...well, he told them scary stories and Meg had heard he spyed on the girls while they changed, while she had no proof.
All the guys she met here in New York weren't interested in a blonde ballerina from Paris who couldn't even read or write in English (it wasn't a skill needed at the Paris Opera House). But no one was even interested in her...or so she thought. She knew there were dancers prettier than her but prettier in different ways. She had a Europian beauty that none of the girls at the New York City Ballet could compare with. She had a beauty fit for classical ballet. She just didn't know how beautiful she really was. She needed someone to open her eyes.
Her thoughts were on Soda when all of a sudden a voice brought her out of her thoughts. "Hey Meg!" A grin spread across her face when she saw Sodapop Curtis. "Hey!" she said, almost blushing, "How'd you know I'd be here?"
((it's cool :-) )) [/blockquote]
