Christine Annalie Daaé

| Middle Class |
Canon: The Phantom of the Opera
Custom Title: Little Lotte
PHYSICAL
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight
Appearance:
Christine is rather easy to be missed in a crowd. She tries to keep in the background, though she doesn’t have many friends because of that. She dresses to normal fashion standards for her age, though she tends to twist things to make them her own. On a normal day, she wears minimal makeup and puts her hair up into a high ponytail, making sure not to be /too/ perfect. Christine is a quite small girl; she often shrinks into crowds and gets pushed around for it. In a room of people, she can often disappear without a trace without anyone noticing. The only thing that makes her stand out is her beauty, and she realizes that, so she will often expect compliments when she is approached.
Height: 5’2”
Weight/Body Type: 102 lbs. Slightly curvy.

Play By: Raluca Andreea Porumbacu
PERSONALITY
General personality:
Christine is normally a very quiet girl who never talks to people unless they speak to her first. She is often lost in thought and won’t notice people around her. Once one gets to know her, however, she is bright, kind, and compassionate. She often talks much more than she should to anyone she knows well. She shares her secrets easily, which occasionally gets her into trouble.
Though she is usually very sweet, she can also be quite the opposite. If she is offended, she /will/ speak her mind, whether it hurts someone or not. She will always apologize after she’s cooled down, though. She doesn’t like to hold grudges, though she will if a person shows that they truly aren’t worth her compassion.

History:
Christine Annalie Daaé was born in the town of Perros-Guirec, France to her mother and father, Marina and Lars Daaé. Her parents raised her well and treated her kindly, supporting everything she did. When Christine was six years old, the family was on vacation in Germany. They were just about to leave for home when a drunken driver crashed into their car in a head-on collision. Christine suffered a cracked rib, broken leg and collarbone. Sadly, her parents both died on the way to the hospital, leaving their daughter as an orphan.
Her broken bones healed, but her heart never did. She was sent to a family-friend, Professor Valerius, and his wife. They raised her into adulthood, repeating many stories that her parents had told her. Her favourite is the tale of Little Lotte and the Angel of Music. To this day, she will repeat it to anyone who will listen. Her father had promised her when she was little that when he went to Heaven, he would send her the Angel of Music. She grew up believing this firmly, even after being sent to college in Paris. It was there that she decided to become a photographer, because she learned that beauty never lasts, so it should be captured in its prime.
Christine felt that after so long in France, she needed a change. She moved to New York City, in America. She quickly found that the city was full of possibilities for photographs, and that she could be paid more there. Though she is a bit lonely, she loves the city, and she doesn’t plan to leave any time soon.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample:
Christine walked along the concrete path that wound about one of the city’s many parks. Gingerly, she polished the lens of her most prized possession – her camera. She felt it was her mission to capture as much of the beauty she could find in the world before it was inevitably destroyed. Over the past year or so, she had captured photographs of nearly everything that she could see here: butterflies, children frolicking, and about half the flowers that could even grow here. She was nearing the end of the park, and she had taken no new pictures so far. She thought to herself, “Perhaps New York isn’t the best place for this sort of thing…”
Just as she was about to leave, something caught Christine’s eye. A Carolina Wren, flitting back to its nest in a tree! She hadn’t expected many birds this time of year, due to the humidity, but there was that little bird, nesting! Christine carefully crept a little closer to the tree that held the nest. She didn’t want to scare off the parents by coming too close.
Swiftly, she brought her camera up and positioned it for the shot. This would be perfect! The birds were practically posing for her! As she crept one step further, her finger poised on the button, ready to shoot, she felt a twig snap under her foot. The birds seemed to hear it too; they flew off in opposite directions. Christine sighed irritably and sat on the closest bench. The perfect shot, ruined. “Oh well, perhaps they’ll come back another day.” She decided, then stood and trudged home with a heavy heart.
