Appearance: Mona is often described in many ways, ranging from ambitious to protective. She has been called a captivating young woman with big goals in life. She holds herself high in the world and believes herself to be great when it comes to many things. She could be modest with you and say that she was like everyone else when it came to her intelligence, But that would be lying. Mona will look you straight in the face and tell you that she smarter then the average person. She's not being smug or bragging, but merely telling the truth. Mona hold's her education high and is proud of her brains. She worked hard through school to become the smart woman that people talked about. It shows in the way that she holds herself that she is confident in herself. She walks with her head up and long strides, she lets nothing and no one get in her way. But this doesn't mean that she's aggressive with everyone. On the contrary she is very kind and understanding to everyone. She lets you tell your side of the story before she judges. She is a beautiful young lady with a smile that lights up the room. When she is working as in intern she wears classic business attire. Her most worn outfits consist of black pencil skirts that show off her long legs and white button up shirt with a blazer. But even in her business outfits she is still the center of attention in room. The minute her sexy work heels touch the tile floor, people start to stare. Most people would say that wearing only business clothes would take away from Mona's attraction, but they would be sadly mistaken. Her clothes and the attitude that she takes on when they are on, make Mona's beauty shine even more brightly. When she's off the clock Mona likes to take it simple. Dark jeans with a pretty top that shows off her curves. She wears her hair down and lets her natural wavy hair do whatever it wishes. She is an attractive woman no matter what clothes she wears. Men look at her everywhere she goes, and while she likes the attention she gets, their not the ones she want's it from.

PERSONALITY
General personality: Mona is a very intelligent girl, in fact it would be the one thing that she would put ahead of everything else. She is always trying to find ways to expand her ever growing mental capacity. She keeps a book around her at all times and is always keeping notes. She uses her Intelligence to get her way, and she likes it best that way. It gives her a rush to see her brains in action, which is why you will see her volunteering or interning in as many places as possible. She goes to flea markets and bargain stores just so she can barter the prices down and feel smart. She is in constant need of showing others what she can do. She always has to prove to others that she is good enough to do anything she is challenged to. she is confident in herself and the future that she has set upon herself. She keeps her future in her mind in all times, and when she feels down or upset it's what pushes her forward. Mona is often found smiling and laughing with people, she makes others feel good about themselves and helps them through their problems. That was going to be her job anyways, to be a therapist, so why not get an early start on it. But she has a secret, deep on the inside she's not the happy girl she seems. Deep down in her heart she feel lost and alone in the world. She feels like she will never find someone to love her the way that she is. No one will love the real her, only the person she pretends to be. But her face shows none of that fear and darkness, it is her little secret.
Mona has many things in life that she fears , failure, stupidity (her own), love, but the thing that has to be the thing she fears the most is the past. The past seems to haunt Mona's dreams. Most people who see her life through the looking glass would think she had a wonderful childhood, but then again their not the ones who fell into the rabbit hole. The only thing in her past that she does not believe should not be changed was meeting Dolores Haze. Her best friend and the person who drags her out of her shell. Without Dolores she would be stuck in the past that follows her. She doesn't believe in love , not that she would tell anyone. She thinks love is something that is only given to those who are pure. Not someone who is broken like herself. Mona has low self esteem when it comes to everything other then her intelligence. She doesn't see herself as beautiful or lovely, only as plain and boring. She is completely oblivious on how attractive she really is to others. Which is why when she does get attention from someone she loves it. But when men come into the mix she is unsure about what to do. She has never been interested in men and when they talk to her she doesn't know what to say to them. So she ignores them and continues with her life.

History: Mona always knew she was different from other children in her upscale New York neighborhood. It wasn't the fact that she was smarter then the average six year old, or that her parents didn't care where she was during the day. She knew why she felt different , it was because of what she looked like. Surrounded by people with perfect blonde hair and pale skin, she was an instant out cast, even at her young age. Her light brown skin and dark hair made her a target for bullies. They followed her and call her viscous names. She was good at ignoring them though, she was used to being called names by her father. But then the kids started to isolate her completely. She was all alone with out anyone to be her friend. She feared that she would always be friendless, until she meet Dolores Haze. The girl who changed Mona's life. Moan had sat on the swings during recess one day, when a group a boys surrounded her. She just kept her head down and ignored them, but then one boy grabbed hold of her long hair and pulled it. He pulled her hair so hard that she fell backwards off the swing and hit her head. The boys laughed and started to kick her and throw the playground rocks on her as she laid there on the ground in pain and sadness. And then she heard a voice call out and the boys were suddenly running away from her as fast as they could. Mona kept her eyes shut closed hoping that they would the new person would make her beating quick. But instead she felt a soft hand on her arm. She opened her eyes to see her very one fire haired angel. Mona couldn't believe it, this was the person who made the boys stop their punishment towards her? She was in awe, and then the girl reached down and helped Mona up before dragging her to the playground. It was that day that Mona knew two things, 1) She and Dolores Haze would be BFF's and 2) that boys would never be interesting again.
Mona's home life was never the highlight of her world. Her mother was an ex- beauty pageant queen who now turned into an alcoholic house wife. Her face that once was so beautiful was now flushed with the alcohol that flooded her system. Mona's father was a successful music producer that was never home. And when he was home he was cruel and harsh towards his only daughter. He called her names and pushed her around without cause. The only thing that made Mona's home life bearable was the library that held her books. Mona was taught how to read by her maid when she was four, and since then the books had been her lifeline. She used them to keep her from drowning in the world around her. When her father had once pushed her a little to hard and she had fell down the stairs, it was the books that kept her comfort. When her mother had thrown her bottle of vodka at Mona's head because she tripped and spilled some of her wine, it was books that kept her company while she got the glass removed. She made her own little world that only consisted of the good things she found in books and nothing could hurt her there.
As Mona grew older she started to feel differently around certain people. Mostly girls, she couldn't help the urges that she felt for the girls around her. She thought that they looked beautiful, and compelling. She kept having these strange feelings in the pit of her stomach when they would pass her in the hallways. Like a slow fire that spread up from her stomach to her whole body. It was a strange, scary feeling that was oddly addicting. Then Mona realized that the fire grew when she was around Dolores. She got a feeling in her chest that felt like her heart would beat so hard that her rib cage would burst. She didn't understand what the feeling was, she was only in middle school how was she supposed to know what it was. Until she noticed that she was always the happiest around Dolores. Everything about her made Mona feel that fire in her stomach grow. She understood now that she was in love with Dolores. Her Best Friend Forever, and the love of her life Dolores. Of course Mona was heartbroken when Dolores didn't love her back, but she was determined not to lose her best friend. She pretended like her heart didn't feel sad or weighted down and smiled through the pain. and then Dolores started to get interested in any boy that came her way and Mona's heart shattered. She never told Dolores how she felt or what she had done to her. She just kept the Mona Lisa smile upon her face.
It was in High school that Mona started to change into something beautiful. Her body finally grew in and her curves became pronounced and puberty doing it's magic. Her clothes started to fit better and her face became softer. Her once strange skin and eye tones now were labeled exotic. She was labeled attractive,or hot, or (her personal favorite) ungettable. Mona had high standards when it came to people she brought into her life. Her number one standard that could not be broken was no boys. This broke a few peoples dreams but it also made a few girls lives. Mona dedicated her life to the people she was in a relationship with. She gave her whole self into the relationship which made any relationship with Mona a serious one. She was a woman who knew what she wanted , when she wanted it and how it was to happen. And it was rare that anyone denied the chance to be with her.
And then Mona told her parents the truth. It was a Sunday night and they had tried to be a normal "family" for dinner.which meant that her father didn't hit her or talk on his i-phone and his mother drank her vodka from a glass instead of the bottle. Mona sat there staring at the burnt chicken that made her sick. she looked at her parents and felt her stomach fill with butterflies before she blurted out what was obvious ,"Mother, Father , I'm Lesbian" the shocks on their faces would of been funny if it had been any other moment. But then her father got up and dragged Mona out of the room and shoved her down the hall. He forced her to get her stuff and get out of the house. They didn't give her any money or goodbye hugs. Just a shove out the door and away she went. Mona had never felt so alone and lost in the world. She wondered around New York till she found a cheep hotel to sleep in. It was that day that she vowed that she would do everything in her power to prove to her parents she was worth being around. No matter who she chose to be.
THE SAMPLE
In Character Sample: Mona stood outside as the cold air blew her hair away from her face. She shivered as she waited outside for Dolores to get done for the night. Usual she got a ride home from someone at the club but Dolores had asked Mona to come and giver her a ride home tonight. And Mona being the friend she was said yes she would. What Mona didn't realize at the time was that she had to park around the block and had to wait outside the club for Dolores. She would of waited in her car but she was afraid that Dolores wouldn't see her so she stood there in the freezing cold. Her double breasted coat went down to her knees which kept some of the wind away, but the dark jeans and heeled boots that she wore underneath it were not made for standing in the cold. She crossed her arms over her chest as men passed by her eyeing her up and down like a piece of meat. She was glad she was into women , they were much more subtle when checking Mona out on the street. Not that Mona didn't like the attention, it just made her feel better about herself.
Mona tapped her foot as she hummed to herself. She looked up at the lights of the buildings that made up of New York. She had never understood as a child the appeal of them, but now that she was older she understood the attraction. It was in human nature to love things that seemed other worldly. She often wondered what made something worthy of being named beautiful. She knew people thought that Lo was beautiful, which Mona agreed, but she wanted to know what made it that way. Was it fate or genetics, a random draw of straws or a perfect science that was accurate. Her own mother had once been beautiful, so beautiful that men fell down on their knees for her. Now she was nothing but a wrinkled hag that didn't know the days of the week. It was Mona's mother's fault why she rarely drank anything, the smell of vodka made her sick to her stomach. She couldn't stand the effects of alcohol one people, the drug that burns you from the inside out until your nothing but a ghost of your former self. Alcohol was another reason she couldn't go into the warm club to wait for Lo, all those drunk men plus the stench of alcohol would be too much more Mona.
Mona watched as men started to pour out of the club and moved out of sight. If the guys were leaving it meant Lo was done inside and she could get out of the cold soon. This excited Mona to no end, she personally hated the cold, which was why one day she would move out of New York and go someplace warm, like Santa Fe or California. Someplace quiet though, although New York had a certain appeal to people, it became quite noisy. But it wouldn't happen till she was done in her career, New York was the perfect place for her to start her career in therapy. She had always dreamed of having a job one day that would help others, to help those with the same issues as her though was her goal. Many people go through the world troubled and in pain and she wanted to put a stop to that, any small way she could. And if New York was filled with anything, it was with people who needed help. She may be a "sucker" or a "sap" because she volunteered with suicide patients and gave money to the homeless, but it was all for the better good of the people she wanted to save.
Mona hummed a few more bars from her favorite song as she waited for Lo. She smiled finally whenDolores came out of the club and walked towards her. Moan frowned as She noticed that Lo's jacket was too small and wasn't nearly long enough to keep her protected from the cold. Mona sighed and took her jacket off and wrapped it around Dolores' shoulders. She always felt a need to give everything to Lo and if she asked for it Mona would give it to her without hesitating. Lo was her best friend and Mona didn't want her to get sick. So Mona would just walk to the car in her tight long sleeve sweater. But she just smiled at Lo and pretended she someplace warm. Because she would face a thousand blizzards without a jacket if it meant her BFF was warm.
